Deep Japan: This is a Side of Nara You Have Never Seen!

Book a spot at Kitsune TODAY: https://bit.ly/4aGi0aG

In this episode, Shizuka discovers a quiet side of Nara! With the tourism booming and touristic places becoming overcrowded, sometimes you just want to be alone and enjoy a moment of zen! Well these places in Nara give you just that!

The trip starts by a visit to a quaint little town Oji, famous for its cute mascot Yukimaru. Here you can visit a Daruma temple to learn of its meaning and even paint your own little daruma. The temple has a beautiful garden where one can enjoy freshly whisked matcha while looking at the zen garden.

Shizuka then finds a local hidden gem: Oji ramen! The owner has been making ramen for 40 years and he crafts a bowl of ramen that’s truly remarkable!

Back in Nara’s old town, Shizuka wanders through its alleyways to find a stylish restaurant Kitsune, where you can try some of the most delectable sukiyaki, featuring local wagyu beef..

Enjoy the moment of peace, away from the crowds in Nara!

  1. I always never skip all the advertisements evendo sometimes there are advertisements that exceed to 5 minutes … To show my love and support to … Ms. Anderson !!!
Such a beautiful lady and all of her contents here ❤️

  2. Now THIS is my speed. Nara is so much more than “Nara Park” and its deer. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Camera guy was like: "Hello darkness my old friend. I've come to talk with you again

    Because a vision softly creaming.

Left its seeds while I was drooling

And the vision that was planted in my brain

    Still remains

Within the sound of my stomach….

  4. I am so overwhelmed with your presentations and as a fan of ramen (I love the little shops) you have again enticed my taste buds. The sukiyaki looks so wonderful as well, …thank goodness I had already eaten before viewing this. But it's not going to stop me from thinking of it.

  5. 5:20 I think I saw that garden in a dream once, all the food looks so amazing and mouth watering, I want a taste

  6. Just an hour from my home in Japan!!! I look forward to trying some of these dishes next month!!!

  7. Thank you for this. I've been married to my Japanese wife for 20 years with a 16 yr old son and we stop by Nara where she is from. Yes, I know that area by Nara station. It's like walking back in time. Some of the best food on the planet. Keep the travel blog going and we are fans.

  8. Shiiiiiizyyyy bowing front of a deer yaay! No more cuteness available atm for sure

  9. Oh weird! For the first time, I could hear Shizuka ca-RUNCHIN' on them enoki! Ha ha.. it actually made it more real and vibrantly delicious!

  10. 11. Watching this made me wanna learn Japanese and live in Japan: love the energy! …and the food obviously ☺

  12. As someone who has low social energy, this video is much appreciated. Thank you ❤

  13. Google Maps doesn’t recognize “Yukimaru Tea House” at all. Can anyone help?
    * Found it: Google “Yukimaru-chaya, Japanese Cafe and Oyokodon Specialty Shop”

  14. My wife & I are travel agents and watch dozens of videos about places we plan to visit. We want to see if there are interesting sights as well as good food. This video strikes a good balance. Shizuka seems to do her homework and is well prepared. This video features good editing and commentary. Too many food vloggers waste time and footage filming close ups stuffing their face and mugging for the camera. Shizuka thankfully avoids that and instead makes the video more about the place and less about herself. Keep up the good work!

  15. In fact, Deer in the wild should not eat SUGAR COOKIES!
This is the abusive BUSINESS that these people do, to impose on them an unnatural diet from which they become dependent and profit from it!!!!
It is not natural for these animals to eat processed foods! (They don't even pay taxes because there is no receipt)
I was actually giving them three leaves thinking it was healthier and an old Japanese guy appeared out of nowhere and started yelling at me like crazy screaming insults and telling me to leave immediately!!!!
Turn these people down, they are not as nice as they want to appear!!!
Also I noticed that in some restaurants they serve DEER meat (imagine where it comes from)
It's just a HUGE ABUSIVE FARM

  16. I'm really interested in making one of those koroko daruma <3 So cute! Do we have to make reservations with the temple? Is it a free experience? I can't seem to find any info on it on their website:(

  17. "Oh, that's a lot of deer poop" Oh, Shizuka! 🤣 HAHA

And what a beautiful traditional city Nara is!! ✨✨

  18. 文化的に豊かで深みのある動画、素晴らしいです!

Way more in depth than the fly by night gaijin first time tourist videos who will never return to Japan.
