【イタリア旅行】都市間移動バス比較|FlixbusとItabus

Hello~ I’m Miyu, traveling in Italy ☺
Hey everyone, if you travel all the way to Italy from Japan,
You’d like to visit not just one city, but many different cities, right?
For those who would like to make your own arrangements instead of taking a tour,
"how to travel between cities in Italy" is important!
The main way to travel between cities in Italy is by train or bus.
Apparently, Japanese tourists often travel by train 🤔
This time, I’ll travel by bus from Milan to Florence to Venice!
There are various bus companies,
in this video, I’ll introduce the inside of the Flixbus (Milano → Florence) and Itabus (Florence → Venice), bus stops, etc.
I’m currently in a hotel in Milan, and
I’m going to take the metro to the bus terminal,
then take the Flixbus to Florence!
Lastly, I would like to tell you about pros and cons I’ll have felt while traveling between cities with Flixbus and Itabus!
I arrived at the bus terminal station called San Donato.
When I looked at the bus terminal on Google Maps,
there was no building that looked like a bus terminal, and
it looked like there was a bus rotary.
I couldn’t find a sign that said "Bus" near the metro ticket gate,
so I went outside. I’m going to look around.
Can you see that building?
Thank you!
At first, when I got out of the other side of the station and was getting lost,
an old man talked to me and asked,
"Where are you going?”
I said "Flixbus”
and he said in Italian and with gestures,
"That’s on the other side. Go down once and go out from the other side,"
then I came up again,
but this time I was confused because there were so many bus stops…
It looked like a local bus stop around where I got out of the station.
And this time, someone helped to me in English
and asked me, "Where are you going?”
I said "I want to take the Flixbus,”
and they said "There’s a terminal over there, and the buses are from there.”
This is that building.
We can’t see the building bcz of the bus,
the Flixbus I want to take is right in front of me,
so I’ll look for the M3 bus stop written on my ticket.
This time I’m going to Firenze.
This is the 9:40 bus
Yup, this one!
This 9:40 bus goes to Siena (Stazione FS) and departs from Milano (San Donato).
Firenze
I’ll take this one.
I’m not sure about the M3 written on the ticket,
A is the bus stop.
Or rather, A seems to be the only one…
Okay, now that I’ve found the bus stop,
I’ll take a rest at the building behind me.
Where’s your destination?
Florence?
Leave your luggage on the other side.
I took the Flizbus and arrived in Florence!
It left on time and arrived about 20 minutes late.
I thought it was going to arrive about 10 minutes late, but
perhaps because the bus terminal in Florence was crowded,
no cars were making their way to the end, and
there were cars lined up behind me. People came out of the cars and were checking the situation.
So there was a mini-traffic jam inside the bus terminal, causing an additional delay.
The driving was not particularly rough,
but I was very sick from the bus😵
I thought I was going to throw up for the first time in a while😅
I guess I can’t help it, since I was on the bus for 4 hours…
It takes about 4 hours to get to Florence from Milan by bus, and about 2 hours by train.
Prices for both buses and trains vary greatly depending on when you make your reservation and the day you want to travel.
When I looked, the train was twice as expensive as the bus I took this time, with the bus costing around 3,000 yen and the train costing around 6,000 yen.
The price is very different, so this time I took the bus.
The seats weren’t that narrow, and
although the toilet is a bit old, but it’s not a problem.
After checking in at the hotel, I’ll go sightseeing in Florence!
I arrived at Villa Costanza station and
I’ll take the tram to the center of Florence!
From Florence, where I am now, I’ll move to Venice.
This time, I’ll take the Itabus.
It’ll depart from Villa Costanza, which I used when I arrived in Florence!
I walked from one end of the bus stop to the other, but
there were no signs telling me what time, where the bus was going, or what bus stop it was going to take.
It’s about 10:20 and the departure is at 10:55, so there’s time to spare.
I wait here, and when the Itabus comes,
I’ll check the destination and get on the bus.
I wonder if it really isn’t displayed anywhere…
I searched all over the place, but in the end I couldn’t find the timetable, and
the Itabus behind me displays the destination as Venezia Mestre.
So it all worked out.
I don’t really know
but somewhere past Bologna,
the bus stopped and some people got off.
Maybe we can go to the toilet in the building .
I’ll go back on the bus and head to Venice.
Arrived in Venice!
Although it doesn’t look like Venice here,
there seem to be two places in Venice where buses arrive, and
one is here, Mestre,
which is in the main island of Italy, not in a typical Venetian-like place. .
The other station is Tronchetto.
Although Mestre is farther from tourist spots, I chose to get off here.
You can go from Meztre to Santa Lucia for a few euros by train.
If you get off at Tronchetto, you have to take a water bus to your accommodation.
Water buses cost €9.5 even for short distances.
So I got off at Mestre and will take the train.
Let’s compare Flixbus and Itabus.
First, let’s talk about the bus itself.
Flixbus felt a little old, and I felt like the vibrations were directly transmitted to my body.
I got car sick. Maybe it’s because of the road.
I feel like I can use the toilet. It’s not pretty.
There were power outlets and wi-fi.
Itabus is cleaner, and compared to Flixbus, it feels a little new.
The seat was a little soft and comfortable to sit on.
The ceiling on the 2nd floor was a window, and it was very sunny that day, so the light was coming in, and it felt really bright. (There are many double-decker buses in Europe.)
I made both reservations on their respective websites.
Same ease of use.
As for the price, you can probably buy both at an extremely low price of 2€ or 3€, depending on the timing.
I happened to find Itabus for 3€.
However, the two companies are slightly different.
Flixbus is a European bus, not an Italian bus, so you can travel not only within Italy, but also between cities throughout Europe.
Itabus is a bus that can be used to travel within Italy.
The busses are running in slightly different areas.
After using Flixbus and Itabus this time
I got the impression that Itabus was better for this time.
In the end, what matters is the time that fits your travel schedule and the ticket price at that time.
That’s all for today’s video.
Thank you for watching till the end!
