Tomioka, Reihoku Town, Amakusa District is an area with a special topography.
The video of the wonderful giant sand spit that I introduced earlier is still fresh in my memory.
This time, we will introduce Shikizaki Cape Park, a cape that juts out to the west coast of the area.
On the cape, there are clusters of butterfly Hamazincho and camellias, which have been designated as national natural monuments, and you can see flowers that bloom in all seasons.
At the tip of the cape, there is a pure white lighthouse and observation deck that was first lit in March 1950.
To the west you can see the marine blue East China Sea that stretches all the way to the horizon, and if you look to the northwest you can see Nagasaki City across Tachibana Bay in front of you, and Shimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture to the northeast.
The nearby sea is extremely transparent, and the coastline washed by the waves is also very beautiful.
From the observation deck on this cape, you can watch the sunset over the East China Sea from September to December.
I think the view of the sunset while feeling the sea breeze is a view spot that cannot be experienced anywhere else.
This is the lighthouse at Cape Shikizaki.
