Although it is a small mountain with an altitude of 80m and the shape of an upside-down bowl, it is still a volcano that deserves to be listed. It is estimated that it was formed by an eruption about 3,300 years ago. The size of the crater is approximately 100m in diameter and 20m deep. It was named "Komezuka" because it is said to be the place where Takeiwatatsu-no-Mikoto, the main character of the Aso myth, piled up the rice he had harvested. It is said that the depression at the top is where rice was scooped up by hand and distributed to people. As I was looking at the beautiful shape of Komezuka from Prefectural Route 111 (Aso Yoshida Line), the east side of Mt. Aso suddenly turned cloudy and the situation resembled a premonition of a shower. As I was getting ready to go home in a resigned mood thinking, "I guess today’s shooting is over" it started raining. However, the rain did not turn out to be heavy, and if you look closely, you can see a white object slowly descending from the east. As I was admiring it, I arrived at Komezuka in the blink of an eye. At this point, I quickly came to my senses and started shooting! In my personal opinion, doesn’t this "sea of clouds" look like a "white dragon" holding Komezuka in its mouth as a precious jewel? Today, I’m halfway up Mt. Aso in Otohime, Aso City. By chance, I was able to encounter a rare natural phenomenon. There is no close-up footage because drone flights are prohibited over Komezuka. note that. Let’s take off!
