【ロープウェイ登山】長崎のシンボル、雲仙普賢岳に登る!地質や歴史がわかるガイドさんの解説付き!【雲仙旅Day2】

Breakfast is a bento box made at the inn. Unzen ham is delicious! ! High-quality ham that tastes like meat Unzen Jigoku Onsen, a tourist attraction, is filled with the scent of sulfur and steam.

The Nita Pass circulation road is open from 8am, and you will need to pay a cooperation fee (100 yen) at the gate. It’s gone up quite a bit The destination is in sight Good morning, it’s the morning of the second day.

I have now come to Unzen Ropeway Station to climb Mt. Unzen Fugendake. It’s much colder than at the foot of the mountain. It’s about 3 times now It feels like there’s a bit of wind Let’s ride the ropeway now I would like to head towards the trailhead. Heisei Shinzan Observatory

Unfortunately it’s in gas. If you use this ropeway, it’s about 1100 meters away. It will climb up to 1333m. The altitude of Mt. Fugen is 1359m. There is almost no difference in altitude. However, there are some ups and downs, so it feels like a fun mountain walk.

Me: How long would it be if I took the lower road (without using the ropeway)? Mr. Ichiki: 40 minutes. Me: Even if I don’t use it, it goes by in a flash. Mr. Ichiki: It’s just a bit steep, so it’s a 200m rise over this distance. Me: Quite a steep climb

Let’s take off on the ropeway A retro ropeway Mr. Ichiki: “Nodake” near the parking lot. When you go to a hot spring town, you will see Mt. Kinugasa. There are Mt. Yadake, Mt. Takaiwa, and Mt. Kuzenbu, which is also known as Oku-Unzen. We roughly understand these eight peaks.

It is collectively called Mt. Unzen. The ropeway ride time runs approximately every 3 to 12 minutes (730 yen for adults one way). A walk in the air while looking at the sea and Heisei Shinzan During the autumn leaves season, the whole area turns beautiful and looks beautiful. Arrived in no time

I came to the observation deck It’s pure white lol There’s gas and no visibility… It is now 1333m I’m going up the stairs Myoken Shrine is still a long way off, but you can get your fortune here. Ichiki-san: I can see all the mountains I will be climbing today.

Me: Wow, are you going to climb here? Mr. Ichiki: That round mountain is Kunimidake, but I can’t go there today. Ichiki-san: Go all the way down that peak. Me: It’s going down quite a bit. Mr. Ichiki: That valley over there is called Kijindani. From Kijindani, we climb Mt. Fugen and come down.

The mountain trail is an azalea tunnel Mr. Ichiki: In spring (mid-to-late May) it’s really pink. Me: That’s great~ I want spring to come. Mr. Ichiki: Spring is the best. This is the Omikuji shrine from earlier. That’s admirable Before you know it, Ichiki is wearing short sleeves… I could see Heisei Shinzan! !

Mr. Ichiki: The eruption of Mt. Fugen did not mean that lava flowed or exploded. It rises little by little from the bottom and becomes a rock. It got bigger and bigger and collapsed and became a pyroclastic flow. The eruption occurred roughly halfway up Mt. Fugendake. The eruption started in 1990.

So I took a break in 1995. At first, there was a call saying it was a wildfire. The local fire brigade asked me to take a look, so I went to see it. Then I said, “Oh?” and she looked different. Unzen volcano caused major damage in 1991

The lava dome formed by that eruption was named Heisei Shinzan. Designated as a national natural monument There are quite a few ups and downs. I will take a short detour towards Mt. Kunimidake. Oh! This is Mt. Kunimi! In spring, the entire area is covered with pink azaleas. I’m going down from here

*This section is currently closed to traffic (as of March 2024) Me: (The rock) doesn’t look a bit pink, does it? Mr. Ichiki: It’s a stone called dacite. Me: Day sight? Mr. Ichiki: Former Magma Ichiki-san: This is also very nutritious. The soil seems to be quite nutritious even without adding nutrients.

The Shimabara Peninsula is famous for its potatoes. Kijindani It is said that it is very beautiful here during the autumn leaves season. I also want to go during the autumn leaves season! I came to a fork in the road Mr. Ichiki: This is a place called Kijintaniguchi. Fugendake is here.

Normally, there would be people walking up from Momiji Chaya like this. About 10 years ago, a new mountain trail was rebuilt. A mountain trail has been created that takes you close to Heisei Shinzan. I was thinking of climbing (that route) today. In that case, you will enter from this place called Kijintaniguchi.

There may be a hole inside This vegetation is the vegetation of Mt. Fugen 5,000 years ago. This is a route that you can enjoy while climbing. Ichiki: This place is still the remains of a volcano. It looks like a forest, but it’s actually trees growing on rocks.

Mr. Ichiki: Moss sticks to rocks, right? (Moss dissolves rocks) and creates soil. And then at this rock It’s not that plants can’t grow because the rocks are rolling around. Plants are growing properly The fact that the forest is growing About 5000 years ago The atmosphere completely changes to a moss-covered forest… Cypress moss

Lots of icicles! Climb up the rugged rocky path Mr. Ichiki: After the Meiji period, silkworms were preserved and turned into an industry. Ice is stored in pigeonholes. It’s the kind of place that used to be like that. Mr. Ichiki: There’s always cold air coming from under the signboard. I can feel it.

Me: I don’t really understand… But some? ? It’s cooler outside Because it’s cold today Ichiki: When it gets really cold, it’s warmer here. The place where the pigeons hid was called a pigeon hole, so in winter it was rather warm. Me: I think it feels cooler this way. Torimochino tree

Me: This is amazing! What is this? ? Yamaguruma (Torimochino tree) is rooted perpendicular to the rock Yamaguruma leaves I went to a place with a nice view In front of you, you can see the Ariake Sea, Kumamoto, and the direction of Fukuoka.

Mr. Ichiki: There is a story about columnar joints written in the wind cave here. The previous one was created artificially. It looks like it’s carved out of stone All of this cracks when the magma hardens. It is a pillar of natural phenomena. Me: Did this come naturally?

Mr. Ichiki: This was not created by humans. It seems that the Oyama lotus is beautiful around here around mid-May. It says that it is the source of the Yue River, but where is it? ? Mr. Ichiki: What is Yue River? Mr. Ichiki: The origin of this is here. Ichiki-san: I’m currently around here.

Mr. Ichiki: Normally, this stone would be extremely heavy. Mr. Ichiki: I think it’s heavy though. Ichiki-san: It’s lighter than I expected. Mr. Satake: Does it look like a cavity? Me: It was heavier than I expected lol Me: I had the impression that volcanic stones were light.

Me: Is it light for this size? ! Me: 4 or 5 kg, right? I’ll keep climbing from here I’ve climbed quite a bit Mr. Satake: It’s a relatively steep slope. A sign prohibiting entry due to a restricted area I feel that it is a volcanic mountain.

Once you reach the top, the gentle path continues. Compared to the steep climb earlier, the climb is much gentler, so I have plenty of time. I came to a place with a good view. This is Heisei Shinzan! You can see it closest from here Wow, that’s delicious! ! Mr. Ichiki made pork soup.

The pork soup made with chin stock is rich and delicious! The vegetables are also sweet and great ♪ The warm pork soup permeated my body. Me: I’m so confused in front of my eyes. Mr. Ichiki: Volcanic gas was coming out. That heats up and turns into steam. I’m going over there now

I went down once, but I’m going up again. No trespassing sign It’s only one-way traffic in this section. Mr. Ichiki: It’s narrow and the slope is steep, so this part in particular is a little dangerous. I came to a fork in the road Just a little more to the top of the mountain!

It’s the top of the mountain Arrived at the summit of Mt. Fugendake (1359m) You can see Heisei Shinzan across the street. The summit offers a 360° view Because the clouds are moving quickly, Heisei-Shinzan is hidden from view. The active food was “Onsen Anpan” that I bought the day before.

It was delicious and not too sweet ♪ Sorry I made you wait Fugendake summit It was a bit windy, but I enjoyed it. I don’t have much time so I’m in a hurry It’s going down quite a bit There may be chains I came to the branch to Kijindani.

Thistle valley is a gentle road Come here, the stairs I will walk along the path of fir trees thank you for your hard work! I safely descended from Mt. Fugendake. I’m heading towards Unzen now. I would like to take a hot spring bath Thank you very much for your hard work

I don’t have much time, Kojigoku Onsen. I just got my feet wet. The hot water was quite refreshing (and moisturizing). I would like to come back again this time I’m going to go have lunch now I came to eat Shimabara somen. Shimabara somen set 1000 yen delicious~!

The slightly sweet soup stock from Niboshi permeates your tired body. There was a cafe with a cat in the next room. Local heirloom vegetable direct sales store I also got some Unzen ham at the roadside station. I returned to Nagasaki Airport. How was your 1 night 2 day trip?

There were so many great places that I couldn’t visit in just 1 night and 2 days. I think it will probably take 2 nights and 3 days. During these 1 night and 2 days, I ate a lot of delicious food and went to a hot spring. And touch the warmth of people

I have also climbed mountains. Climbing Mt. Unzen Fugendake was great I took the ropeway to the top, so I thought it would be pretty easy. I climbed down and climbed down, and the climb was rewarding.

Unzen Fugendake is said to have a lot of flowers blooming in the spring and beautiful autumn leaves in the fall. So I would like to visit again in a different season. How is this trip going? It is posted on the website of the Unzen Tourism Bureau.

I’ve put a link in the summary section I hope you will check them out as well. So see you again in the next video There were also very light stones. Our guide, Mr. Ichiki, told us a lot about the charms of Unzen. I run a guest house at Unzen Onsen.

For details, please see the overview section ↓ Mr. Satake: Did you spend New Year’s holidays? Me: Sueyoshi… It was Sueyoshi again lol
