BEST10 JAPANESE FOOD TOUR IN KAMAKURA: JAPAN TRVEL GUIDE 2023

In this video, I will show you a kamakura Day trip. So firstly, just a six minute walk from the east exit of Kamakura Station on the junior Yokosuka line. Let’s start our tour with a unique cafe where care is ensuite. The Japanese dry landscape garden is creatively integrated into tables.

Kamakura is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is next to Tokyo. You can go there from Tokyo Station just one hour by train. Kamakura offers a captivating journey through centuries of tradition and spirituality in Japan, all within a stunning coastal setting.

Oh, and it’s featured in one of the most popular Japanese anime in existence. Slam dunk. Use the time to below and enjoy some delicious food and a historical trip with me on my own. What’s this all about? Let’s find out. Inside the cafe is arranged with 14 seats encircling

Tables inspired by Kara’s dancing. For those new to the term, Kara’s dance party is a type of serene, dry landscape, often seen in Zen Buddhism, usually featuring in temples. When I visited, the weather was great, enhancing the view from the windows. The centerpiece of each table resembles a miniature waterfall, providing

A continuous, soothing sound of water, creating a peaceful ambiance. This is quite impressive, isn’t it? Speaking of crazy and sweet, it reminds me of the famous Ryo and Ji Temple in Kyoto. I dropped by around 2 p.m. on a weekday and there were already a couple of groups waiting outside but worry not.

The wait was just about 10 minutes. As I said, this is shrine fever. The cafe has a one hour limit during busy times, so expect a longer queue on weekends given its popularity. But for my visit I chose much energy to dream. Paired would imagine my keys priced at ¥1,600.

It’s a bid on the patron saint of tourists, but I think you could easily remember the taurine and drink come as a set. The much awaited preparation is quite a sight. The milk is served first and then the staff artistically pours in the matcha. Perfect for a quick video.

Ever felt awkward as a guy going on a date to a cafe that seems to cater more to women? Well, this place, with its tranquil Japanese style atmosphere, might just be the perfect spot for everyone in this. People threesome. Welcome, travelers.

Today, we’re just a six minute stroll from Hays Station on the end of a line uncovering a hidden gem. If you’re up for a scenic route, I highly recommend the path offering stunning ocean views reminiscent of a Studio Ghibli film. Introducing a newly renovated traditional Japanese

House turned cafe opened in September 20, 23. This place isn’t just a cafe. It’s a nostalgic journey surrounded by nature, giving off that enchanting Ghibli movie vibe. Stepping inside, you’re greeted with a serene and surprisingly spacious setting. It’s like having the place to yourself, especially if you arrive early

In the morning with fresh air and fewer people. Flick Yes. The interior retains the charm of an old Japanese house, evoking a sense of nostalgia. The furniture and decor, seemingly vintage, are a treat for anyone with a love for unique and stylish pieces. I found myself wishing some of these were for sale.

The cafe offers various seating options, a semi-private area right at the entrance, a charming space with a chandelier, two seats and a main area with around six seats suitable for groups of 2 to 4. The terrace, with about three tables, caters well to larger parties. I visited post noon on a weekday

And the cafe was bustling, filled to about 60 to 70% capacity. Interestingly, a bunch of K-Pop fans were there because the cafe had featured in a music video and their idol was in Japan at the time. Surprisingly, there weren’t many young patrons or couples that day.

A local recommended Mondays is the best day to visit for a more relaxed experience. The hand-drawn illustrations on the menu are absolutely adorable, offering choices like picnic pancakes, a lunch menu, and, of course, pancakes. I went for the herb pancakes ¥1,800 with a drink set.

A delightful new experience with the freshness of dill, perfectly complementing the sweetness of whipped cream and sirup. For a heartier option, I chose the open sandwich with homemade wagyu roast beef, grilled Kamakura vegetables and burrata ¥2,500 with soup and a drink.

The homemade roast beef was delicious and the grilled veggies added a nice balance. I opted for coffee and the cafe takes their being seriously. They were from Savannah Cafe, if I remember correctly. But this cafe is versatile. Ideal for dates or groups of any size

With its inviting atmosphere, excellent service and top notch cuisine. It’s a must visit when you’re in Haz or Kamakura. I’m definitely coming back and I’m thrilled to share my dining experience at a special restaurant in Kamakura, known for its authentic and heartwarming dishes. Arriving just after opening at 11:38 a.m.

On a weekday, I found myself in a queue of more than five people, which was quite the anticipation builder. After about a 30 minute wait, I stepped inside to find a spacious, stylish restaurant with a cozy. What? An interior. Softly playing bossa nova music.

This place, which opened shortly after the devastating earthquake on March 30th, 2011, has a story of resilience and community support. Despite initial doubts and fears, the owners were encouraged by the people around them, leading to a successful opening. For my meal, I chose their signature dish combination with Sriracha for ¥1,600.

Shiraz Soo Young sardines are a famous delicacy in Kamakura, especially popular from spring to autumn in the 1980s and the set also included three side dishes a salad with Kamakura vegetables and shown in hijinks, a seasonal vegetable dish with fried giving and homemade dried tofu with new onions,

Along with a bowl of nutritious interesting. Every dish was delicately flavored with the salads, homemade dressing being a standout for its fresh, yet robust taste. The combination of pot rice was perfectly cooked, my favorite texture, topped with dancing, bonito flakes, pork, salami and the saltiness of Takano.

It was delightful mixing in some use of pepper, added an extra layer of flavor, and the portion was generous, equivalent to about three bowls of rice. The vegetables used in the side dishes were locally sourced from Kamakura, perfectly seasoned to my liking.

Each pot of rice in this restaurant is cooked individually over direct via easy rice, directly supplied by local farmers and meticulously cook with a healthy stock. The warm hospitality of the staff, especially from the motherly figures made dining alone a serene and enjoyable experience

For anyone visiting Kamakura and looking for a renowned dining spot. This is the place to go. It’s worth the wait and I recommend arriving just before opening to avoid longer queues. This restaurant is a must visit for an authentic taste of Kamakura. You can enjoy Now I am walking Kamaishi Street in Kamakura,

A bustling hub known for its delightful street food. This lively area is not just a treat for the tastebuds, but also a feast for the eyes. With its array of eateries and cafes lined up, offering everything from soft ice cream to Kamakura famous Dango sweet dumplings that are a must try.

As we stroll down this vibrant street, we’re heading towards one of the city’s most iconic landmarks the Suruga Okazaki Manga Shrine, founded in the late 11th century as the guardian deity of the minimal Edo clan. This shrine later became the protective deity for the samurai of Kamakura.

Today, it’s known across the Kanto region as a shrine closely associated with Minimo don’t know you’re a Telmo, the first Shogun of the Kamakura So Garnet. Its grounds are designated as a National historic site, and the shrine’s ancient structures and numerous notable spots have stood

The test of time, allowing us to feel the ambiance of a bygone era. As the main shrine jungle rebuilt in 1828 by Tokugawa I injury is a stunning example of the real Golden Zachary architectural style and is designated as an important cultural property of Japan.

As we explore the 800 year old shrine with its long standing structures, historical sites and treasured artifacts, it’s an invitation to see, feel and connect with the enduring legacy of this sacred place. So let’s embark on this journey together, experiencing the rich tapestry of carmaker’s history and culture.

Hey, coffee lovers join me as we explore one of carmaker’s most renowned coffee shops, a must visit for anyone in Tokyo who appreciates a good cup of Joe. Just a stone’s throw away from second Yoshida, a mere 5 seconds walk. This cafe is a popular post-lunch destination for those enjoying the area.

Ever wondered about your daily coffee ritual? What’s your preference? The beans, the brewing method, the cup, the setting, or perhaps the time of day. This cafe embraces the idea of providing startling new discoveries and moments of relaxation for everyone. Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of coffee

Tucked away in a serene part of Kamakura, close to the sea and surrounded by lush greenery, this house turned coffee shop is a haven of tranquility. This charming single story, traditional Japanese house exudes a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The entrance adorned with a striking logo

And an orange curtain with perso design immediately catches your eye. Inside, the wooden construction and cozy ambiance are reminiscent of a peaceful country home. Right at the entrance, you’ll find the counter where the selection of beans and coffee making equipment are displayed and where your coffee will be expertly dripped.

The staff wearing happy coats add to the overall traditional feel of the cafe and their commitment to handpicked coffee. No lattes or espresso here speaks volumes about their dedication to craft. The seating arrangement includes window side counters, a couple of tables

And a totally area in the back for the best lighting and ambiance. I recommend the counter, but I chose the tatami area this time feeling it embodies the cafés concept most fully. If you order a hot hand drip coffee, it’s served in a beaker and a small cup.

A delightful presentation that’s sure to inspire a photo. The clientele here seems to be on the younger side, and while it’s a great spot for a snap, the real draw is a coffee itself. So for all you coffee enthusiasts out there, this Kamakura jam is an absolute must visit. Welcome back, Coffee enthusiasts.

I’ve got another hidden gem for you in Kamakura. This cafe is so tucked away that you might miss it if you don’t know where to look. It’s nestled in a spot where the bustling tourist areas meet quiet residential streets, adding to its charm.

Finding this cafe is like venturing into a scene from a Studio Ghibli movie with narrow paths that might challenge even those with a good sense of direction. But trust me, the adventure is part of the experience run by a lovely couple. The cafe exudes a homey feel.

The barista skilled in roasting. They do. Sheer roasting means you might even bump into various coffee experts here. The cafe itself is a single house transformed by the owners through DIY, yet it looks professionally done. The warm wood tones combined with white interiors give off a chic yet cozy vibe.

The roasting machine custom beanbags, oversize dried flowers and vintage style decor make every corner Instagram worthy. The lighting in particular is a delight for any decor enthusiast with around eight spacious table seats, including a few in a secluded area. The cafe provides a relaxed setting. Their menu offers

Not just coffee, but also herbal teas, hot sandwiches and an array of business. The coffee beans are roasted in-house with a variety of options, including beans from Myanmar and those selected by visiting baristas. Now let’s talk about their popular sweets, the white coffee pudding and carrot cake.

The white coffee pudding is a unique creation where on ground coffee beans are infused in milk, giving it a white appearance but with a distinct coffee flavor, a delightful blend of milk, sweetness and a subtle richness of coffee, and the carrot cake resembling a cupcake may look small,

But packs a satisfying punch in terms of flavor and volume. Join the as we explore another charming cafe conveniently located just a short stroll from the west exit of Kamakura Station along the vibrant League street. This cafe, which opened its doors on August 25th, 2023, is a go to spot

For those craving tasty light bites like their famous spareribs and homemade bread. Inside the cafe features a cozy layout with three seats at the counter overlooking the kitchen, three two seater tables with bench seating, a four seater wooden sofa table and a six seater table combined from two seaters.

The ambiance is elevated by the sounds of American rock with the memorable vocals of Guns N Roses, Axl Rose resonating through the space. The interior exudes the feel of an American pub with its extensive use of dark wood, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe operates from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

With specific hours for morning, day and bar time. When I visited around 1 p.m. on a weekday, the cafe was already buzzing with customers. There’s outdoor seating too, which was particularly inviting on this warm day. For my visit, I decided to try their iced coffee and a seasonal treat

The apple and burnt caramel donut for ¥450. A popular choice among their varied donut selection, which includes sweet flavors like sugar and savory options like garlic. Besides, they offer original hot dogs and sausages perfectly paired with craft beer, making it a great spot for a midday meal.

And if you’re in the mood for a more substantial meal, there’s Sparky’s Kamakura Nearby, another fantastic restaurant where you can enjoy a hearty dining experience. Hearts are affected. Welcome to a breathtaking slice of history and nature in Kamakura, the Kenji Yama Park. This park is not just any ordinary green space.

It’s a tribute to the 800th anniversary of Minimo dono, Your Togo’s entry into Kamakura, featuring an impressive statue of your Tomo himself standing at about two meters tall. Visiting Kenji on the park is like walking through a live painting, especially in late November, which is when I made my trip.

It’s the season of Autumn leaves and trust me, the spectacle of gingko and maple trees in their vibrant autumn colors is nothing short of magical. The park is famously known for its cherry blossoms and spring as well, making it a year round destination for nature lovers.

I arrived here on a weekday afternoon around 4 p.m. and was pleasantly surprised to find it almost deserted. Despite the stunning fall foliage, it felt like having a private viewing of nature spectacular show. But be warned, getting here is a bit of a trek, especially from Kamakura Station.

It’s about a 30 minute walk, the pathways to residential areas before turning into a steep hill. So be prepared for a bit of a hike. I recommend taking breaks along the way, especially if you’re planning it towards the end of your trip. Kenji Yamazaki holds a significant place in history.

It’s named after an event during the later three year where 1083 to 1087 where your Attila’s army, led by your Tomo himself, raised the Genji Clan’s white flag on this mountain, praying for victory in battle. For those who love combining history with a bit of adventure,

The park also serves as a starting point for a hiking trail leading to the Great Buddha of Kamakura in North Kamakura. It’s a fantastic way to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in the historical and natural beauty of the area. So make sure to add Genji on the park to your Kamakura itinerary.

Tonight, I’m excited to wrap up this video with a dinner at Mochi Kamakura, a restaurant that transports you back to the Meteora. When Western culture was becoming a part of Japan. This large retro style building made of exposed brick instantly gives off a chic, slightly foreign vibe.

One of Moriches unique features is its use of home grown herbs cultivated on the rooftop and throughout the premises, and infused in both their drinks and dishes. The drink menu is incredibly diverse, thanks to their in-house brewer in distillery, offering everything from beer to gin sucking whiskey and wine.

Highlights include the pure rice ginger rice difference tasting set for ¥1,200, offering a generous taste of three varieties. I tried the craft gin sheer tango tonic for ¥900 based on twice fermented saki lees, offering a unique gin experience with a hint of sweetness and a refreshing kick.

The urban sheer tango twist cocktail for ¥980 is another standout, combining homegrown herbs, the flame, rosemary and pink pepper. For this, a stunning and palate pleasing drink. The mochi salad for 1550 and is a fresh take on salads topped with a pink foam

Dressing and hummus underneath, providing a new and delightful taste experience. The Koji marinated local chicken pierogi for 1550 and is juicy and flavorful, perfectly complemented by a herb tartar sauce for a hearty option. The ham Katsu for ¥800 is impressively thick and satisfying. The Margherita for ¥1,800 cooked in their in-house pizza

Oven is impeccable, especially with their homegrown basil, The shiraz, pepper and chino for ¥1,500 combines thick pasta with root vegetables, fragrant shiraz, and popping to go for a unique texture. The Mochi Motueka fan cake for 650 and is a simple yet delightful dessert.

Larger and more satisfying than expected and of mochi Chinese herbal tea for ¥880 with camomile, lavender and rose red is a perfect stress reliever. This visit to Mochi Kamakura was an exceptional experience, ranking it among my top three restaurants of the year, from the ambiance and service to the quality of the food.

Everything was top notch, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone visiting the area.
