The second piece of our Flower Power GENESIS collection is now live! ‘Our Cheerful White Daffodils’.
This release is created in collaboration with @claireonline and marks the second of three original artworks in the collection, that compel the viewer to reflect on the power and beauty of nature while celebrating Dutch national heritage.
With these animations, we wanted to create something unique by blurring the lines between art, photography and animation. The result is a series of works that capture the imagination of the viewer by inviting them to admire the beauty of world around them. Suspended in zero gravity and frozen in time.
This artwork is a composition of images that were captured in the west region of the Netherlands, an incredible location for discovering bold and beautiful flowers. White, the colour of the Narcis, has associations with a wide range of symbolic meanings; isolation, purity and simplicity. For Dutch people, white is a colour emblazon on the national flag, but it also reminds locals of the cheerful daffodils which sway quietly in the fields. In this piece, the daffodils are suspended in zero gravity to help people see that there is a real serenity, clarity and cheerfulness to nature that most people never take the time to fully appreciate.
