Photo by @babaktafreshi | “Canon lent me the new astrophotography #EOSRa to test out. I was recently at Lake Tekapo, an International Dark Sky Reserve in New Zealand. Using the EOS Ra with the 50mm f1.2 RF lens I set up for a timelapse sequence with the iconic Church of Good Shepard in the foreground. Looking toward the south, in the sky the Southern Cross and Coalsack dark nebula are on the right and Carina Nebula sits above the church, a massive hydrogen cloud in the Galaxy where newborn stars are forming, some 8500 light years away. Compared to a regular camera, the modified IR-cut filter of EOS Ra makes it 4 times more sensitive to these common red glowing nebulae in the sky, by passing more of the red end of the light spectrum to the sensor.” #eosra #astrophotography #nightscape #laketekapo #saveournightsky
