11月8日（金）、フィンランドの首都ヘルシンキに、フィンランド1号店となる「MUJI Kamppi Helsinki」がオープンしました。欧州最大の売場面積と品揃えを誇り、Kamppiショッピングセンター4階のワンフロアすべてがMUJIの店舗となっています。

フィンランドは国土の約70％が森林で覆われ、都市に暮らす方々にとっても自然との結びつきが強いのが特長です。自然と身近な方にとって、無印良品の店舗もまたフィンランドの自然のように身近な存在でありたいと思い、内装に木材をふんだんに使用して温かみのある空間をつくりました。また、ヘルシンキ郊外によく見かける小屋のつくりを参考に、店内には梁と柱を設置して空間の結びつきを演出しています。

この店舗では、「食」を店舗の中心に位置づけています。店内の食品売場やイートインで提供する食材は、地産地消をテーマに約100にのぼるフィンランドの地元企業や農家から厳選したものです。MUJI BOOKS、Open MUJI、パネルファニチャーのオーダー販売など新しいサービスも展開します。

The first MUJI store in Finland – MUJI Kamppi Helsinki – has opened on Friday November 8th in Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. MUJI Kamppi Helsinki spans over 3,600㎡in size and occupies the whole fourth floor of the Kamppi Shopping Center, making it the biggest MUJI store in Europe with the largest assortment of MUJI products in Europe.

Finland, with about 70% of its land covered by forests, is characterized by a strong connection with the nature even for people living in cities. To people in Finland, the nature is something very close to their daily lives. The MUJI store also wishes to become such an existence – being close to people in Finland just like the nature. We use plenty of wood in the interior of the store to create a warm and pleasant environment, and beams and pillars are installed in the store to create a connection between the spaces with reference to the structure of small houses that can often be seen in the suburbs of Helsinki.

This store has a focus on Food. Ingredients provided at the food departments as well as the eat-in space in the store are carefully selected from about 100 local Finnish producers with the theme of “local production for local consumption”. It also introduces new services such as MUJI BOOKS, Open MUJI and the sales of order-made panel furniture.
