Can you still climb Takeda Castle Ruins on a rainy day?
Where do you park, and how do you get up there by car?
On a rainy autumn day in Asago, we visited Takeda Castle Ruins, the “castle in the sky,” and the Ikuno Silver Mine, dug deep underground.
We show the way up from the parking lot by the Tenku Bus and on foot, plus Ikuno Hayashi Rice, the local dish of this old mining town.
【What you’ll learn】
✅ Getting to Takeda Castle Ruins — from the free Yamashiro-no-Sato parking lot by Tenku Bus and on foot
✅ Tenku Bus — fare and where to board
✅ Takeda Castle Ruins in the rain — the trail and the ruins
✅ Ikuno Hayashi Rice — two dishes compared at Restaurant Marronnier
✅ Ikuno Silver Mine tunnels — from hand-dug Edo-period shafts to modern tunnels
✅ Mining Museum — exhibits after the tunnel tour
We hope this helps you plan a day trip from Kobe or Himeji.
