I visited Shibamata, Katsushika in mid-autumn.
On February 13, 2018, the “Cultural Landscape of Katsushika Shibamata” was designated as an Important Cultural Landscape by the Japanese government — the first of its kind in Tokyo.
It’s a rare neighborhood that still carries the old shitamachi atmosphere and the world of the beloved “Otoko wa Tsurai yo” films.
