The Police Said “Just Go” So I Ended Up Here 🇹🇿
Join me on my solo motorcycle journey across Tanzania as I ride my Yamaha Ténéré 700 from Iringa toward Mbeya and the Malawi border.
Along the 350 km route, I stop at the fascinating Isimila Stone Age Site, where towering sandstone pillars and deep canyons surround one of Tanzania’s most important prehistoric archaeological landscapes. Here, we explore ancient Acheulean stone tools, hand axes and evidence of early human activity dating back hundreds of thousands of years.
After leaving Isimila, the journey continues through unexpected pine forests, mountain landscapes and busy Tanzanian highways. I stop to meet local people, learn about the Turkish railway project being built across Tanzania, search for some local food, and eventually reach a major milestone: 15,000 km on the motorcycle.
By sunset, I make it through the traffic and into Mbeya, one step closer to Malawi
