In this final leg of my North Japan solo trip, I leave Morioka behind and take the high-speed Shinkansen bullet train back to Tokyo in under two hours! My first stop is the subculture capital of Akihabara to explore multi-floor anime shops, check out figure displays, and visit the iconic Radio Kaikan building for a special Steins;Gate exhibition.

After grabbing a quick bite during a sudden rainstorm, I head over to Shinjuku to explore the futuristic, cyberpunk-style Tokyu Kabukicho Tower. The ultimate highlight of the trip: attending world-class guitarist Mateus Asato’s emotional live concert at Zepp Shinjuku! I wrap up the adventure with late-night Tenshinhan dinner and a night walk through the bustling streets of Shinjuku.
