いよいよ　日本の夏の訪れを告げる　伝統行事「祇園祭」の季節がやってまいりました　
今回は、祇園祭の山鉾巡行に向けて行われる「岩戸山」の曳き初めに参加し、実際に山を曳く貴重な体験を4Kで撮影しました。

「岩戸山（いわとやま）」は、国生みや天岩戸開きの神話を今に伝える
屋根の上に立つ神聖な真松（しんまつ）と、その上に佇む伊弉諾尊（イザナギノミコト）の尊像が特徴的な、非常に格式高い「曳山（ひきやま）」です。

ギシギシときしむ巨大な木製の車輪、響き渡る祇園囃子の音色、そして「エンヤラヤー！」の掛け声とともに新町通を動き出す圧倒的な臨場感を、4Kで撮影してきました　山を曳く迫力や、京都の街に響く掛け声、祭りならではの熱気をぜひお楽しみください。

京都の伝統文化を身近に感じられる貴重な一日となりました。

The season of “Gion Matsuri” (Gion Festival), one of Japan’s most famous and historic summer festivals, has finally arrived in Kyoto.

In this video, I participated in the “Hikizome” (the trial pull) of the historic “Iwatoyama” float, capturing the rare and thrilling experience of actually pulling this massive structure in stunning 4K.

“Iwatoyama” is a highly prestigious float inspired by Japanese mythology, specifically the stories of “Kuniumi” (the creation of Japan) and “Amano-Iwato” (the Heavenly Rock Cave). Unlike other floats, its distinct features include a sacred pine tree (“Shinmatsu”) rising from the roof and a statue of the deity “Izanagi-no-Mikoto” standing atop it.

Feel the incredible energy of Kyoto’s summer: the creaking of the massive wooden wheels, the traditional “Gion-bayashi” festival music echoing through the streets, and the powerful chants of “Enyaraya!” as the float begins to move down Shinmachi Street.
