Oirase Gorge in November 2025
Early winter in Oirase Gorge, Aomori Prefecture
Since I was staying in Akita and had to catch the 10:00am bus from Hachinohe Station to Oirase Gorge, I had to take the 6:09am Akita Shinkansen Komachi 6 to Morioka Station. Then took the Tohoku Shinkansen Hayabusa 95 at 7:59am to Hachinohe Station.
From there, I’d be taking the 10:00am bus ride to Oirase Gorge. I had about four hours to explore the area, then got on the only bus back to Hachinohe Station at 4:15pm at the Nenokuchi bus stop. There are other bus stops along the Oirase Gorge like Ishigedo, Oirase Field Museum, Makadoiwa, Kumoi Falls, etc.
This trip is covered by the JR Pass and the JR East Pass (Tohoku Area).
