Historical Shrines and Bridges of Ochanomizu | Tokyo Walk 4K (August 2026)

A 4K Ultra HD walking video recorded in one continuous take through the streets of Tokyo on August 15, 2026, under an overcast sky with occasional rain.
This walk covers the area between Yushima Station and Akihabara Station — a district of shrines, slopes, and bridges that has long served as both a center of learning and a residential neighborhood.
Please enjoy it as part of your daily relaxation or as a virtual travel experience through Tokyo.

【Video Overview】
The walk begins at Yushima Station and proceeds along Gakumon-no-Michi (the Path of Learning). Along the way stands Yushima Shoten (formally known as Shinjo-in), a temple with a small pond where carp, goldfish, and turtles can be seen. Climbing the stone steps of Tenjin Ishizaka leads to Yushima Tenman-gu (Yushima Tenjin), a shrine with origins traditionally dated to 845. Dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the patron deity of learning, the shrine displays a large number of ema (votive plaques) offered by students praying for academic success. Within the grounds, Sasazuka Inari Shrine is lined with rows of red lanterns.

After passing through Sanemorisaka slope, Tsumagoi Shrine, and Miyamoto Park, the route continues to Kanda Myojin (Kanda Shrine). Founded in 730, it has long been venerated as the general guardian shrine of Edo. Adjacent to the main hall stands a stone monument dedicated to Zenigata Heiji, the fictional detective from Nomura Kodo’s novel series “”Zenigata Heiji Torimono-hikae.”” The walk then reaches Hijiri Bridge in the Ochanomizu area — a stone arch bridge completed in 1927, known for its view of overlapping JR and Tokyo Metro rail lines across the Kanda River, a scene depicted in a well-known anime film.

The route descends Awajisaka slope and passes through mAAch ecute Kanda Manseibashi, a commercial facility built within the brick viaduct piers of the former Manseibashi Station. Crossing Mansei Bridge, the walk concludes at Akihabara Station.
