*Antica Pizzeria* is where we begin our Pesaro food tour, tucked inside a beautiful old building and making pizza for decades. We try their famous Pizza XL, a huge 4-in-1 pizza with four different toppings that can easily feed four people. Generous and full of flavour, it is a great way to start our first evening in Pesaro.
*Alice in WonderLab* is our next stop for some artisanal Italian gelato. Fresh, colourful, and beautifully made, the fruit flavours are especially refreshing and full of natural taste. It is a simple but perfect way to finish our first day in the city.
*Osteria El Bichierin* takes us into the more traditional side of local dining. This humble and welcoming osteria serves the kind of food that feels made for regulars, and we enjoy tagliata steak, lamb chops, pasta, and a selection of regional cold cuts. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food feels honest and very local.
*Pasticceria Pagnini Maurizio* is where we start Sunday morning with a classic Italian breakfast. The counter is filled with freshly prepared pastries and small savoury bites, and we try local pizzette, cornetti, and a selection of desserts. It is exactly the kind of neighbourhood pasticceria that makes mornings in Italy so enjoyable.
*C’era Una Volta* is where we finish our Pesaro food adventure at one of the city’s true local institutions. The restaurant is especially famous for Pizza Rossini, a unique Pesaro specialty topped with tomato, mozzarella, hard-boiled egg, and mayonnaise. Before the pizza arrives, we also enjoy several delicious appetisers in this incredibly busy and lively restaurant, finishing our 48 hours in Pesaro with some of the most memorable bites of the trip.
