    James O Fraser was a missionary from China Inland Mission, he spent many years living among the Lisu people. The book Mountain Rain tells his story. Thank you for your amazing videos, China is really an amazing place. It would take more than a lifetime to see everything worth seeing there.

    西南云贵川，整个横断山脉都是这种地形，大量城市建设都在峡谷之间河道两岸，滑坡，落石，地震，山体位移从古至今就没有间断过。遇到大暴雨，山洪爆发还会波及城市低洼地带。面对无尽的大山，奔流的河道，上下2000米的海拔落差，真心佩服这里的人民。

    Beautiful area, but as it is everywhere in China the likes of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture and Bingzhongluo in Yunnan are subject to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) state governance, legal regulations, and political censorship….Political "Sinicization of Religion" Policy enforced by the government!

    The strong missionary presence in Yunnan may explain in part why that region was one of the last holdouts of the KMT in the Chinese Civil War (pockets over the border in Myanmar lasted even longer).

    I heard your question about the difference between Catholicism vs Protestantism. Both religions believe in Mary as the Mother of Jesus, except the Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception and Assumption while Protestants do not. Come to the Philippines when you and your husband are ready to learn more about Catholicism. The Philippines is the largest Catholic country in Asia and Catholicism is the largest religion in the world. On a side note, your channel will gain a lot of membership among the friendllist people in the world who speaks good English.

    How hard was it for hubby to get travel visas to travel to those areas of China? I thought Tibet-area was one of those no-go zones for laowai. I likely have no idea what I'm talking about.

    I enjoy your videos, and marvel about how our cultures are interrelated even thousands of miles away. Watching these different ethnic groups living in remote areas of China, reminds me of different ethnic groups (even the way they dress) living in the highlands of Guatemala, in Central America. Our cultures have so much in common, and even share foods like corn, and potatoes, staple foods first grown by indigenous peoples of the American continent thousands of years ago: corn first grown by people in Mesoamerica, what is now Mexico to be more specific, and potatoes, first grown by the Inca of Peru in South America.
