隅田川の河川敷から浅草に向かう途中に三囲神社がありました。境内には、三越伊勢丹のデパート前にあるライオン像が設置されており、新しいライオン像と歴史ある神社の佇まいに違和感を覚えましたが、裏庭はとても綺麗で良い雰囲気にいやされました。
On my way from the banks of the Sumida River towards Asakusa, I came across Mikumi Shrine. Within the shrine grounds stood a lion statue, the same as the one in front of the Mitsukoshi Isetan department store. Whilst I found the juxtaposition of this modern lion statue with the historic shrine somewhat jarring, the back garden was very beautiful and its pleasant atmosphere was truly soothing.
