Willow Tree, NSW – Back From The Brink | 4K Walking & Driving Tour

Let’s explore Willow Tree, in the Liverpool Plains of NSW. Recently on the brink of collapse until local residents and benefactors worked together to rescue it. Located along the New England Highway, just north of Murrurundi. In it’s heyday Willow Tree was an essential rest stop for northern travellers, and a service centre during Australia’s gold rush era.

In recent years the town has languished until caring residents and benefactors rescued it and reversed its fortunes

In this relaxed 35 minute POV walking and driving scenic tour we’ll explore the town from it’s revitalised commercial area, to its quiet suburban streets, and its facilities and amenities for travellers.

Perhaps you’ll decide that Willow Tree is worth a visit or a stay during your travels?

The tour features ambient environmental sounds, no voice or music. Filmed in 4K and including text based commentary to provide context and history.

Today’s journey takes place in the lands of the “Wanaruah” and “Kamilaroi” first nations peoples. I acknowledge their connection to the land and also pay my respects to their ancestors and Elders past, present and emerging.

  1. Willow Tree is very pretty, I really enjoyed this. I think I prefer Murrurundi, I haven't checked the real estate prices as yet.
Thanks again for all of your great videos,.so appreciated 🙂

  2. Great deep look inside this neat little township. Thank you. Only the indoctrinated refer to our Aboriginal brothers and sisters as first nations. Aboriginals could not possibly have been a nation or nations and it is patronising and plain wrong to refer to us as such. What is wrong with referring to us as we are Aboriginal Australians? Proudly so.
