【速報】祇園祭2026・山鉾巡行｜京都最大の祭りが始まる！
京都の夏を代表する「祇園祭」。2026年7月17日に行われた前祭・山鉾巡行の様子をお届けします。
今回は、8:00頃に巡行開始前の山鉾や沿道の様子から撮影をスタートし、9:00頃に長刀鉾の出発を見届けた後、撮影場所を移動しながら巡行を追いました。
河原町交差点、京都市役所前の交差点、烏丸御池の交差点では、場所取りをしていないとかなり後方からの撮影になります。
前回公開した山鉾巡行の動画（2024年）は、高島屋前の一か所から巡行の最後まで撮影しました。今回は、よりさまざまな角度から山鉾巡行の魅力をお伝えしたいと思い、撮影場所を移動しながら撮影しています。ぜひ前回の動画と見比べながらお楽しみください。

■長刀鉾にのぼる
当日は交通規制により、通行できる場所や横断できるポイントが限られており、思うように移動できない場面もありました。同じように撮影を予定されている方の参考にもなれば幸いです。
長刀鉾を先頭に、豪華絢爛な23基の山鉾が京都の街をゆっくりと進み、辻回しでは多くの観客から大きな歓声が上がりました。千年以上の歴史を誇る祇園祭ならではの迫力と伝統、そして巡行当日の熱気あふれる京都の雰囲気を、現地の空気とともにお楽しみください。

Kyoto’s iconic summer festival, **Gion Matsuri**. In this video, I take you to the **2026 Gion Matsuri Yamahoko Junko (Grand Float Procession)**, held on **July 17, 2026**.
Filming began around **8:00 AM**, capturing the Yamahoko floats and the atmosphere along the streets before the procession started. Around **9:00 AM**, I watched the famous **Naginata Hoko** depart and then continued filming while moving to several different locations along the parade route.
At **Kawaramachi Intersection**, **Kyoto City Hall**, and **Karasuma Oike Intersection**, you’ll need to secure a viewing spot early, as it becomes difficult to get close once the crowds gather.
In my previous **2024 Yamahoko Junko** video, I filmed the entire procession from a single location in front of Takashimaya Department Store. This time, I wanted to show the procession from multiple viewpoints, so I moved between several filming locations throughout the event. I hope you’ll enjoy comparing both videos.

**■ Climbing the Naginata Hoko**
Due to traffic restrictions on the day of the event, many streets and pedestrian crossings were closed, making it difficult to move freely between filming locations. I hope this video will also be helpful for anyone planning to photograph or film the procession in the future.
Led by the magnificent **Naginata Hoko**, all **23 Yamahoko floats** made their way through the streets of Kyoto. During the famous **Tsuji-mawashi** (turning of the floats), loud cheers erupted from the crowds as the massive floats were skillfully maneuvered through intersections.
Experience the grandeur, tradition, and excitement of one of Japan’s most historic festivals, with over **1,000 years of history**, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Kyoto on this unforgettable day.
