Visiting Cusco, Peru
I spent 4 nights in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, in the ancient city of Cusco. At over 11,000 (3,400 meters) feet in elevation, Cusco is one of the highest metropolitan areas anywhere in the world. It was once the capital of the Incan Empire, and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture. I was warned ahead of time to take it easy the first few days, to avoid altitude sickness.
I arrived midday and spent the rest of the day taking it easy, walking around the main part of the city. The next day I ventured a little further out, going to the San Pedro Market, hiking to Cristo Blanco, and spending a lot of time in Plaza de Armas, the main city square.
The next two days I took day trips to Humantay Lake and then to Rainbow Mountain, which will each have their own separate videos in the coming weeks.
I hope you enjoy this video from my time in this remarkable city. I absolutely loved it and definitely want to go back! Please give it a “LIKE: or “THUMBS UP” and also don’t forget to subscribe to my channel as well. Thank you for watching!
