  1. Sorry, Italians —> sorry 😅

But I would never eat spaghetti in Japan. I don't even like it in Italy. I prefer other types of pasta.

I'm taking the Haruka Express in November. I can't wait to take some photos!

  2. Thank you for this amazing video, I was lucky to have been there every time I go to Kyoto.
There is also a cute well stocked model train shop on the 5th floor at Kyoto station as well as several excellent ramen shops next to it.
    Enjoy your visit

  3. Your videos are always wonderful to watch travelgeek, but I enjoyed this one especially. The railway museum in Kyoto looks amazing, and its great that your wife also enjoyed it a lot. So many interesting things to see and learn. The future train looks quite cool, I would definitely get a drink or a burger there (but for sure not that "affordable" water ;-)).

The original twilight express sounds totally like my cup of tea and I am sad that I missed it. Did you ever travel on it ? Also, have you ever seen Dr. Yellow "on duty" ?

P.S. In March this year, we visited the SC Maglev and railway park in Nagoya, which is a very similar museum (a bit smaller, but also much less busy and noisy). We loved it ! We managed to get a try on the shinkansen driving simulator, which was a lot of fun. And seeing a Dr. Yellow shinkansen was also great.

  4. I have been 3 times in Japan, And I visited 3 railway museums, of which Umekoji Railway Museum was one of them, back in 2016. In 2017, I visite the railway museum in Nagoya annd in 2019 I was in the railway museum in Omiya. There used to be a large minitaure railway here in the Neterlands, but unfortunately went bankrupt. It's not open anymore. I also wet to a miiature railway in Switzerland, which is located near Fribourg/Freiburg. That is also a very nice model railway.

  5. Your latest vidoes are standing out! The content, she show is so good. Impressed. Thank you for letting us see that from other side of the world.

  6. I'm planning on going to Kyoto on July 11th and I cannot wait to go to this museum. (hopefully no typhoons that weekend)

  7. I will agree, i only got to visit for an few hours but did a couple simulators i would’ve stay the entire day if I could’ve (I would love to go back to Japan with a couple rail fan friends)

  10. Here in the Netherlands, we are not quite as proud of our trains as the Japanese rightfully are, but they are quite alright and we do have a massive railway museum in Utrecht.
Please come visit if you're able 😊

  11. 13:15 Thank you. I am an industrial mechanic from Germany. I often saw these ticket scanner in travel video from Japan and was often thinking about how they operate.

  12. I have and did!….I visited Kyoto Railway Museum (from UK) in Jan 2023…I long to return to Japan…sigh.

  13. What an amazing video ! As a railway enthusiast, it's very rewarding to see that railway culture is respected and revered in Japan. This museum is fantastic ! Thank you so much for the excellent video, Mr. and Mrs. Travelgeek.

  14. Sin duda Japón tiene los mejores museos de trenes, exelente video me ha encantado. Saludos desde México 🇲🇽🖐️

  15. You need to visit York Railway Museum in the UK as it displays the first ever steam train, Stephensons Rocket from 1829.

  16. 新幹線0系の話で「グリーン車は1等車」といわれていますが、
    厳密にはグリーン車は2等車になります。

  17. It was wonderful to see the turntable in action with a steam loco on it, that's rare! Many people in the U.S. conceive of a steam engine as a living thing, it was good to see that people in Japan feel the same way. If you're a railfan and would like 30 seconds of pure joy, watch the video "Train Race: Old vs New", it gets my blood pumping every time.
