One of France’s Most Overlooked Villages | Gassin Near Saint-Tropez 4K Walking Tour

If you are looking for a beautiful Saint Tropez walking tour, we invite you to step away from the busy coastline and join us high in the hills above. Gassin is a spectacularly preserved medieval hilltop village in Provence, looking out over the glittering Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Officially listed as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, it is a place where time genuinely seems to slow down. In this immersive 4K walk, we are taking you deep into the heart of the Var department to experience the quiet romance of the French Riviera.

Wandering through this hilltop village, you will find a labyrinth of ancient stone architecture; vibrant bougainvillea spilling over balconies, and quiet, tucked-away art galleries. We take you through its sun-drenched cobblestone streets, including what is claimed to be the world’s narrowest street, and out onto the magnificent terraces for panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards and the Mediterranean below. With natural ambient sound, you can experience every quiet archway and sweeping vista exactly as it feels to be there.

We are Michelle and Charlie. Living with chronic pain and fatigue taught us the profound value of slowing down, so we rebuilt our lives with a camera in hand to seek out the quieter corners of Europe. We film these walks to share real destinations in a calm, honest way, offering you a little breathing room, because quiet beauty is always worth the journey.

  1. We fell completely in love with Gassin and the more we discovered, the more we understood why. Did you know that Inès de la Fressange, the face of Chanel and one of France's most iconic style figures, was born here? Or that this quiet hilltop village was already ancient when Saint-Tropez was still finding its feet, with written records dating back to 1234?

Gassin sits above it all, the Gulf, the peninsula, the whole shimmering coastline and it has done so for eight centuries. We hope this walk gives you a little of that stillness.

Have you ever visited Gassin or the Saint-Tropez peninsula? We'd love to know – drop us a note below. 🌿
