Late May is the off-season for Xinjiang tourism. I joined a medium-sized group of 19 people for a “pure sightseeing” tour with no forced shopping stops. The hotels were generally good; there were minor issues with a few, but nothing major. As for dining, only one meal was disappointing, while the others were excellent; overall, I was very satisfied with the accommodation and food.
