  1. Great stuff Paddy, absolutely love Krabi, to be honest, my favorite camping province and getting offroad destination from Phuket, off the beaten track, this place is amazing, and yes, the wife and I do like some accommodation from time to time. Kao Sok lakes, also on of my favorite freshwater locations for fishing, a truly premier location

  2. I just drove to Krabi (end of May) from Surat Thani Airport. It rained the entire time in Krabi. It’s gorgeous the closer you get to Krabi as you were saying…Also, Surat Thani is pronounced “Surat THA-NIE”. My gf lives there.

  3. I have been wanting to stay on the lake but held back because of the $$$. I cannot wait to see your recommendation next week

  4. We are looking forward to you taking us on a tour of your hometown in England when you get back. 👍👍

  5. Great vid as always but I've got a gripe. Why are you always so keen to slag off England? It's completely unfair comparing a stunning two hour drive in Krabi (which I've done and LOVED) to driving down the M62! If you want hidden gems between Manchester and Leeds you can choose to get off the motorway and see the gorgeous Peak District, caves, gorges, beautiful villages, rivers, churches, forest, adventure activities etc etc. There's loads of beauty in this part of the world. I've followed your excellent vids since your first Thai odyssey but noticed this very strange fixation with badmouthing England creeping in more and more. You don't have to slag off England to make Thailand any more beautiful.

  6. krabi! Or Ka-beee as thais say. Krabi town night market is great. Locals only and great exercise path from the market along the river. really nice. Ao nang in 2009 was a dream. So chill. Offseason was thais only.

  7. Hi Paddy: that was a fun one. Pro tip….get yourself southeast asian sweatpants (sarong). Packs super small and you always have a backup (no towel required) I've had a bunch of Thai's smile, point and say Khon Thai.

  8. I like the rainy season. There are plenty of sunshine breaks between the gentle to powerful downpours. However, it can get slippery. Went flying barefoot on a porch once — tore my right knee and jammed my left shoulder. i'm okay now, I think. Thanks for another great episode loaded with eye-candy. dcb

  9. Ao-Nang is like being at the jersey shore. As soon as I got there I wanted to leave. Krabi town and the surrounding countryside roads are much better!

  10. Hello, Paddy! I’ve been watching you for several years now, as a serious health scare sent me on a journey to find a place to retire and got hooked on Thailand while you were traveling all the provinces, you were exactly what I needed, seeing every province because I wanted to see everything. I absolutely love your channel and I share your enthusiasm and love of Thailand. I’ve actually learned a lot from your videos, gracias!🤘😁 Apologies for not commenting before, but I usually watch YT on my t.v. and can’t comment there. But recently, I’m on YT a lot more on my phone and iPad, as I created my own little channel and learned how to edit and whatnot. You were my first inspiration to create a channel, I was so stoked to see all your adventures throughout Thailand, so I planned a trip to Thailand. Now, Thailand is in my soul and it will never leave. You, Bangkok Pat and Danny & Diggy were the first channels I watched and subscribed to and I even talked about y’all in my first vlog(it was terrible😅). I appreciate the entertainment, information and the love you guys share with the world! I’m always excited to see a new vlog on your channel, looking forward to the next one!

Take care, stay healthy and blessings🙏

    Tim

  11. Hiya Paddy.
    Nice fresh trim.
Perfect narration. Beautiful drone footage. The perfect tunes.
On this beautiful drive. Gorgeous scenery.
    Ace Venture. LOL. Gorgeous Cave.
That statue was amazing. Gorgeous Temple.
You're not wrong about the services on the motorway in the UK. LOL.
    Thailand is an epic place.
Fantastic place to stay. The tubing looked fun.
    Breakfast looked good.
    Beautiful video. Happy Weekend.

  12. Paddy, I am doing research for a trip to Laos and Thailand for 2 months Jan 2027 and thoroughly enjoying all your videos particularly because your preference for nature and no crowds matches our own travel ideas. Even though we are old Geordies turning 70 next year and have lived in Canada since 1980, your use of the Geordie "Slippy" makes me chuckle every time. I had a mother who was like Hyacinth Bucket who always corrected us and said the word is "Slippery" and as I went to Dame Allan's Girls ' school in Fenham I was expected to speak rhe Queen's English LOL. (Hubby was in the Boys' school the year above me).
Anyway, getting ready to go to an outdoor watch party for England v Panama….let's hope the game isn't as boring as against Ghana. Howay the Lads. Karen

  13. Those roads look like so much fun. I have to fight temptation and not click the next vid, leave something for next week….

  14. Question Paddy. Did you document any of your condo renovation? I follow Lucas on @Rides4Kickz, he is building a house with his girlfriend, Lan. The videos of this endeavor fascinate me. Just inquiring. Would love to see the difference between labor costs in Bangkok and Pattaya. The Ace venture reference was brilliant, by the way.

  15. Lovely video! I am curious about the writing for the travel guide publisher. Is it still happening?

  16. Does make you think the amount of times crocodile farms flood and the crocs escape that you never hear of sightings of them in the wild. 🐊👀

  17. As someone who lived in Thailand for 7+ years, the grass isn't always greener on the other side

Back in the day I drove from London to Cornwall. Along the way… Stonehenge

The UK has many fascinating villages and sites along highways or slight detours

And I'm an Aussie, not a Pom

  18. ❤ Thailand and it's beautiful to drive around. But so is the UK. You can drive from the quintessentially English villages of the Cotswolds to the rugged, dramatic coastlines of Cornwall and Wales or the majestic, mountainous terrain of the highlands. You'll pass preserved medieval castles, forests and national parks. It's just that most Brits just drive from city to city without putting in the effort they do overseas. UK road trips can be some of the best in the world.

  19. What an adventure in a beautiful province. Breathtaking scenery and expertly filmed. I'll tell you a secret. I don't much like bats either. Thanks Paddy.
