I Rode Two Streetcars in Rural Japan! Kochi & Ehime Prefecture

I enjoyed walking around the cities while riding streetcars in Kochi Prefecture and Ehime Prefecture. First, I took the streetcar “Tosaden” in Kochi City and rode it all the way to the final stop. Without looking up any sightseeing information in advance, I wandered around the area and came across an unusual unmanned beef offal shop and scenery that felt typical of a port town.

After that, I visited Harimaya Bridge, a well-known sightseeing spot, and the statues of historical patriots in front of Kochi Station.

Next, I traveled by highway bus to Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture and took a streetcar toward Dogo Onsen. While comparing the different atmospheres of the streetcars in Kochi and Ehime, I enjoyed a relaxing journey through local cities in Japan.

[What This Trip Was Like]

• I enjoyed the relaxed pace of travel that only streetcars can offer.
• I was confused in Kochi Prefecture because IC cards could not be used.
• I enjoyed the view from the front window of the streetcar.
