170km of Putty Road NSW | 15 Stops You Might Have Missed | Slow TV Scenic Drive 4K

170km of one of Australia’s most iconic roads — driven slowly, with 15 stops that most people miss. This 4K POV scenic drive begins in Singleton and makes its way past 15 iconic stops, some real hidden gems, before ending in Windsor.

For example, did you know that you can see genuine Aboriginal Rock art on the Putty? Watch this drive to find out where it is!

Some landmarks that we’ll see:
• Wollombi Brook Bridge
• Bulga (including Bulga Tavern)
• The Putty Road Truck Drivers Memorial
• Biame Cave – ancient Aboriginal cave painting
• Colo Bra Tree — breast cancer commemoration
• The Wo-man statue, Halfway Roadhouse sculptures
• Colo River
• Colo Bridge
• Many sweeping views
• Some off-the-beaten-path adventure

This is a normal speed, slow drive, ambient sound and no talking filmed in 4K. Along the way I’ll share fun snippets of history and contextual information in subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

  1. Such an iconic Aussie drive, I hope that you enjoy this video. I am very interested to hear your stories or favourite stops along Putty Road, so if you have any please leave a comment and share below!

  2. Wow, that trip along The Putty brought back many memories. Back in the 1970's I traveled it many times on my way to weekends away at Murrurundi. Your stop at Parsons Creek Fireplace was a regular rest stop for us. you will notice the large cut back tree adjacent to where you parked, back in the day, that tree was huge, it almost spanned the whole road and was known as the Possum Tree. Back then the area was much better maintained than its is today. If you travel The Putty on weekends, please be aware that many many motorcyclists use it for weekend rides, the Grey Gums Cafe is a regular rest stop for them, don't let that stop you from visiting the Cafe, they're generally a good bunch. Thanks again, cheers.
