SST-san, the 2 cakes you got from that Beijing bakery – the flower looking one is Red Date paste filling. The other thing is sesame paste with brown sugar. Personally I don't like that chain bakery. I prefer buying from local pastry makers especially in the Southeast coast.

Ich bin in einem kommunistischen/ sozialistischen Land geboren und aufgewachsen. Zum Glück endete dies (vorerst!) 1989. Ich werde nie und unter keinen Umständen ein solches Land besuchen, denn ich verachte den Sozialismus von ganzem Herzen.
Aber um fair zu sein, dieses Essen 30:48 sieht wirklich sehr sehr gut aus, die Bahnfahrt schien recht reibungslos und ich bin sicher, es gibt auch sehr sehr anständige Chinesen.
Dennoch, Japan ist uns Deutschen einfach um ein Vielfaches näher, als alle anderen asiatischen Länder. Und ich würde drei Urlaube in China, für einen in Japan eintauschen.
