I think all thet silicone work will help a lot, and regularly treat with canvas waterprrfer as an extra, the sort you "paint" on and leave to dry. It should be good especially when the proofing builds up.

Aside from all your leaking disaster and things that you're getting sorted out, I'm worried about you coming to NZ in the winter with a pop top. It is real cold at night here, have you checked the heater yet, your heat pump will probably be running all night. It can also be really windy here, is that canvas upto the job ?
We do have lots of specialist fabricators, and machine shops, boatbuilding businesses that could help but be warned it could be very expensive.
Once everything is sorted you will have a wonderful time, and please do get off the beaten track here, there is a lot more to NZ than Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo, Christchurch and Queenstown, and you'll need months to see it all. Even though it looks like a small country on the map.
Been to the cameran Highlands when on holiday in Singapore..it's a lovely destination to escape the heat…
You need to go to. Camping store and get seam sealant and canvas treatment.

I agree that the people who put the camper together should fix it or pay for it. When you do get it fixed run a hose of water over the areas for a few minutes to make sure that the fix is not leaking. I feel bad for you but i would go back.
This is the result of trying to save a few quid…SE Asians & camping dont mix…its like asking an Arab to build you an Igloo! 🤯
From my experience with backpacking and sleeping in tents you have to use seam sealer on all of the stitching, maybe this is what you need as well.

As a make do until you can fix it permanently, would a tarpaulin skirt velcro-ed over the canvas all round help? Its atrocious really but you are on a deadline 😞

I could not make any comments on the video before this one when you guys realized that you have a major problem. I was at the end of my semester and was extremely busy. But for this video, after watching the whole deal you went through, I want to make a few comments.
Number 1 , as so many followers ( friends) I was very upset about the workmanship these people had on Trevor 😢
Secondly, this rain issue, simply it is not acceptable by any means. These people should reimburse you somewhat if not all
Thirdly, if the stitchings are the problem ( even with Hose created rain) I am sure that there are fabrics out there that any rain droplets rolls over it. Can you look into that type of fabric. Water Repellent fabric
I have seen that they make clothings from it and advertise how these fabrics are waterproof. I am sure you ran into the these advertisement yourselves.
As I said also before, you may want to install a storage area on the front bumper.

Some ideas on the fabric . Waterproof tape applied to the stitching with silicone backing . Spray on canvas waterproofing . Both work well. Some tents come standard with the tape . Any good camping shop will have it.

You’ll probably have to replace all the canvas … it’s shocking of them to have done and supplied such an inferior product! Also with storage being so tight I can’t imagine how hard the reality must be of having to loose 2 storage cupboards because they will always leak! I’m so sorry 😢

You can apply wax (like candle wax) to the seams as a quick and temporary fix. Also, it helps if you spray the entire soft top with a water-repellent spray—these are usually available in shoe stores. Be especially generous around the areas near the windows.
But unfortunately, I have to give you some bad news. The actuators that lift the roof don’t seem to be very water-resistant. You should definitely have the motor covers opened and checked for any water accumulation inside; otherwise, they may rust quite quickly. When you come to Turkey, we can replace the internal bearings with stainless ones.
No problem is unsolvable—keep your spirits up 😉

Hi, such bad work on Trevor. We had the same issue on a super expensive teepee we bought, the solution was to put a canvas sealant on the holes of the stitching then glue a flap over the holes. Best of luck.
Seeing how porous the canopy is leads me to believe it's insulation qualities are nil. Heating your van will be a nightmare and you really will require some good thermal insulation when experiencing a New Zealand winter
Have you thought about putting some spray on water repellent spray over your canvas. It could help with the rain getting through. Hope things get worked out soon.❤

Sigh! I really2 cried watching this video..why don't you just buy a brand new camper van or a secondhand..at least you don't need to go through such problem 😭😭😞😞
