The Canberran day trip, a driving tour of Bungendore in NSW
A popular day trip for Canberrans the small town of Bungendore is about 40 minutes from the centre of Australia’s capital city. The town is worth a visit, they have a tourism focus, with plenty of shopping, food and scenery. Not to mention Lake George just a stones throw away.
The town “Bungendore” was proclaimed in the 1837s, the town has slowly emerged to what it is today.
Recently the town has seen further growth as workers form Canberra and Queanbeyan move to the town to take advantage of the lower costs to purchasing or building a home in the region.
In this drive we’ll take a look at the centre of town, the commercial district, the older areas and the newer housing estates that are currently seeing a boom.
