A Rainy Cherry Blossom Trip to Namyangju near seoul

Hello! This is ‘Walking Korea’, where we walk the paths breathing with South Korea’s beautiful scenery and history.

Today, drawn by the sound of the rain, I hopped on an unplanned Gyeongui-Jungang Line express train heading to Namyangju. Starting from Yongsan Station and getting off at Ungilsan Station, the wet, dense water mist of the Bukhangang (North Han River) welcomed me like a beautiful traditional Korean landscape painting.

Today’s route is the absolute classic Namyangju course, perfect for backpackers and walking travelers! Starting with the misty ‘Water Garden’, passing through the ‘Dasan Birthplace’ filled with the spirit of scholar Jeong Yak-yong, and the retro-vibes of the ‘Old Neungnae Station’, all the way to ‘Dumulmeori’ where the North and South Han Rivers meet! Moving leisurely by bus, I’ve captured the full romantic mood of this rainy day on screen.

You can’t travel on an empty stomach, right? The thick, crispy, old-school pork cutlet I stumbled upon near the Dasan Heritage Site is the hidden scene-stealer of today’s trip.

The amazing part? Even after enjoying all this, the round-trip transportation and a hearty lunch cost less than 20,000 KRW in total!
