At the Sekiya Pass on the Futa Road, once traversed by Shinsengumi members such as Kondo Isami, the exposed geological layers still hold in the memory of the footsteps of the swordsmen who traveled dozens of miles, and only the rustling of the trees resonates as an echo of history. Standing along the road is the Ishikubo Child-Rearing Jizo, quietly guarding the passing ages while receiving the prayers of nameless villagers. In this area, where moss-covered earthen walls intertwine with dappled sunlight, there exists a tangible, authentic Japanese feel that modern maps have lost, opening a door to a distant past through our feet.
