Touring Ogawa & Higashi-Chichibu with AirJapan: Using the MaaS Site for a Seamless Journey

This time, we visited the hidden gems of Saitama: Ogawa-Machi and Higashi-Chichibu Village!
With the help of the MaaS Site , AI created a custom one-day itinerary based on our interests!
Our journey begins at Matsuoka Brewery, the producer of “Mikadomatsu” sake, which is also served onboard AirJapan flights. Learning about the unique sake brewing process in Ogawa-Machi was fascinating, and we highly recommend the brewery tour.
Next, we enjoyed a traditional meal at Kappo Ryokan Futaba, a registered tangible cultural property of Japan with a beautiful Japanese garden.
Ogawa-Machi and Higashi-Chichibu are both famous for washi paper production. At Kubo Paper Mill and Roadside Station Washi no Sato, we discovered the enchanting world of traditional washi paper.
At Ondekoza, we felt a connection to the spirit of Japanese culture through experiences like sutra copying with our hand and a lively taiko drumming session.
Finally, we visited Toyota Fireworks, where we had the chance to interview artisans about the delicate craft of fireworks making. Be sure to catch this part too!
