Amanohashidate Sunset Walk | Miyazu, Japan 4K Golden Hour Nihon Sankei Sandbar & Beach Ambience

A peaceful golden hour walk on the pine forested path across Amanohashidate and its sandy beaches with a beautiful sunset. Amanohashidate is a sandbar in Miyazu Bay on the Sea of Japan, in northern Kyoto Prefecture. It is one of Japan’s three scenic views known as Nihon Sankei (日本三景). We start walking along the canal toward Chionji Temple and Kaisen Bridge. It is late in the day, but there are still a few people out enjoying the waterfront and pre-sunset atmosphere. From there we head out across the sandbar, weaving in and out from the forest path to the beach and back. The sunset color in the sky becomes spectacular, and combined with the small lapping waves made for a very relaxing walk. I hope you enjoy it wherever you are.

    Oh this has come full circle for me, I’ve seen a few videos of that sandbar from above and I always wondered what it was like to walk through so I’m really glad I got to see it!

    It never ceases to amaze me how pedestrian forward Japan is, there are so many well lit paths just for walking. I wish we had more of that in Canada, but everything here seems geared for cars and less for pedestrians.
