Fukushima Road in Autumn Foliage, Atami Town, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture This time, we would like to introduce Moritaya (hereinafter referred to as Moritaya), which has warm memories of Bandai Atami Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture. It is said that Bandai Atami Onsen was opened about 800 years ago by the Ito clan, the feudal lord of the Muromachi period, who named it Bandai Atami in memory of his hometown of Izu . Bandai Atami Onsen is located in Koriyama City, almost in the center of Fukushima Prefecture , and is one of the most popular hot springs in the prefecture, as it is conveniently accessible, about 10 minutes from Bandai-Atami IC on the Ban-etsu Expressway , right from Bandai-Atami Station on the JR Ban-etsu West Line. It is a hot spring area that we are proud of. Moritaya is a hot spring inn with an outstanding sense of privacy, with all 10 rooms having open-air baths and no public baths , only private baths. This time, I stayed in a newly renovated room with a cypress hot spring open-air bath. In this video, we will give a full review of the charms of Moritaya, including an overview of the inn, rooms, baths, dinner and breakfast. History and Overview Moritaya is located almost in the center of Bandai Atami Onsen, a sacred hot spring along the Gohyakugawa River, which is said to be the 500th river from the capital of Kyoto , and has been known since ancient times as a hot spring for beautiful skin . Moritaya was founded in 1959 and is a long-established inn that has been in business for over 60 years. Currently, Moritaya is a two-story hot spring inn with 10 rooms, each with a unique design and an open-air bath, with an outstanding sense of privacy. Let’s enter the building through the lovely Japanese-style entrance decorated with Kumiko work. Please sit in the front lobby and check in. Bath Salts Bandai Atami Hot Spring Introduction Lounge 7:00-21:30 This is an easy-to-use lounge. You can get drinks for free (^^♪ Coffee, tea, sake (15:00-18:00) and soft drinks. You can get some sake. You can also take these drinks to your room. Don’t drink too much. Please be careful ^^ Introduction to the building The gallery features regional specialties (all available for purchase).We were given an explanation of the check-in room, private bath, and meals.This plan is the standard plan, and we will introduce the accommodation costs at the end. We were shown to the rooms and explained about the facilities.There are 10 rooms with different designs and many rooms are on the 2nd floor. Please note that there is no elevator. All of the guest rooms have been renovated in the past few years. This time, the newly renovated room with a cypress open-air bath has a cute red cup handle. There is nothing in the refrigerator. Not included. “Zao no Ma.” Renewed in October 2024 The view of the mountains from the window looks great during the fall foliage season.The river below is the Gohyaku River.The room has hardwood flooring.Tea and sweets are made from Yunoka puff pastry , which is also sold at the shop. Some of the old parts are still there.The single-sized low bed and mattress are made by Simmons.In addition to the power supply, there is a USB-A and USB-C, and it is modern . The embroidered 👍bath basket is nice♪ WiFi is available in the room.There is no problem with mobile phone reception.The toilet has a standard washlet.Esteloyer cosmetics amenities are also available. Toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors, cotton sets, etc. Panasonic hair dryer Zao Room There is a cypress open-air bath roof, but it is a luxurious bath made entirely of cypress wood 👍It’s comfortable enough for one person . The water is highly alkaline and clear and colorless, but the water is smooth.The bath in the room is 100% free flowing from the source.There is a washing area. Renewed in 2023: Semi-suite Japanese-Western room “Bandai-no-ma” Japanese-Western style semi-suite, bed made by Simmons. The view from the room is almost the same. The bath was a cypress barrel bath. My wife wore a yukata and a haori . I tried it on ^^ The mature design is wonderful 👍 Let’s go to the private bath‼️Introduction to the private bath The private bath is located down the stairs at the back of the lobby. The spring quality is a simple hot spring with a pH of 9.4 and high alkalinity, making your skin smooth and beautiful.All private baths are sterilized through circulation filtration. There was a space that looked like a rest area. Turn the bill over and enter. Be sure to lock the door inside ^^ There is a private open-air bath washing area, but there was no shampoo 😅 The feeling of openness is sufficient and the view is nice 👍 The bathtub is an oval-shaped stone and tiled bath, and it is spacious. That’s also enough. You can rest your head and lie down ^^ There are also two other private baths located down the stairs. It has a large washbasin with two sinks. Moritaya’s original cosmetics, GACHI for men, were available.The changing area is ample space. Private Bath Kawato no Yu is a very spacious private bath. The view is as if you were looking at a painting.The bathtub is spacious enough and made of Towada stone, giving it a luxurious feel👍This bath also had pillows ^^ There are 3 washing areas with a shower . There is one. We have a variety of products such as POLA and Moritaya originals.The washroom is small, but it has amenities and a hair dryer. The lacquered private bath is spacious enough for a single person ^^ The surface is lacquered, so you can see the scenery when you open it, but the window is small. I’ll take a bath in the room ^^ I like the overflowing sound. That’s right^^ The pH is 9.4, so it’s a hot spring that leaves your skin smooth and beautiful. The water temperature is also adjusted nicely. The old parts of the bath area have been preserved and have a nice atmosphere 👍 After taking a bath, I ordered a beer from room service ^^ They brought it to me in a cute bucket ♪ It was time for dinner.The dinner venue was This is a new venue behind the lobby. The private room has table seats and a foot-friendly setting 👍 First, toast with an aperitif ♪ Honjozo Sawayashienkyo As the name suggests, it is a refreshing sake ^^ Drinks are ordered using a tablet. You might want to use the earplugs in the private bath. ^^ It’s breakfast time . Breakfast is also a Japanese meal in the same room. It’s very luxurious in the morning! Squid carrots? Contains seaweed , Komatsuna, ohitashi, squid, sashimi, herring , and boiled bamboo shoots.The bowl is cute😍Grilled salmon, thick-grilled egg, pickled plums , and pickled salad with chicken^^ The piping hot boiled tofu is a delight♪ Yogurt What’s on top? The rice is “Asaka Mai” from Koriyama.The miso soup is made with sea lettuce.Good morning.Bandai Atami is smooth and the quality of the spring water is very good . The miso soup in the bowl is also particular about the container with seaweed 👍 It looks like squid and carrots with kelp. I once rolled it smoothly into the bowl ^^ If I’m not careful, my wife likes koikuchi. I passed the medical examination the other day after not drinking for a month ^^ It had a texture similar to dried fruit ^^ Yogurt and dried fruit go well together ^^ Thank you for the luxurious meal in the morning . After the meal, we went back to the lounge for coffee ^^ I have a feeling that it will be a good day (^^ ♪ The check-out plan is a standard plan that includes 1 night and 2 meals.
