Go to Shinnoji Onsen in Fukushima Prefecture! Fukushima City Tsuchiyu Onsen Town This time, we will introduce Fukushima Prefecture’s Shinnoji Onsen Sagamiya Ryokan. Shinnoji Onsen is one of the Tsuchiyu hot spring villages scattered along the Tsuchiyu Pass that passes through Mt. Azuma and Mt. Adatara, and is located in a quiet mountain area at an altitude of 1200 meters. Sagamiya Ryokan is a private inn that was founded with the opening of Shinnoji Onsen, and is a secret hot spring inn where you can enjoy milky white sulfur springs and an outdoor open-air bath. In this video, we will give a full review of the charms of Sagamiya Ryokan, focusing on its proud baths, the interior of the hotel, the rooms, and even dinner and breakfast. There is a lot to see in this video, so please watch it carefully until the end. History and Overview Sagamiya Ryokan is nestled in a quiet mountain area at an altitude of 1200m , surrounded by Mt. Kimen (1890m) and Mt. Adatara (1699m) in Bandai Asahi National Park . Sagamiya Ryokan was founded in 1960, the same year as Shinnoji Onsen opened, and was a small mountain hut-like inn with less than 10 rooms. In 1976, a four-story reinforced steel building was added. In 1989, the older building (main building) was also rebuilt. The current Sagamiya Ryokan has 4 floors above ground and has 23 guest rooms. Most of the rooms are Japanese-style rooms, some with beds. Sagamiya Ryokan is a member of the Japan Secret Hot Springs Preservation Society.The Japanese Secret Hot Springs Preservation Society issues stamp books, and if you collect 10 stamps, you will be invited to stay for one night (^^/ There are many mountains surrounding the inn. Shinnoji Onsen is known for its splendid hot springs, which are created by adding mountain water to the steam . Let’s enter the building from the entrance with the impressive nameplate “Noji Onsen”.Front LobbyReception Currently , day-trip bathing is not accepted.Lounge spaceThere was instant coffee^^ It is a rare public telephone ^^ When you think of hot springs, you think of kokeshi dolls ^^ There was a shop at the back of the lobby. Smoking room A small shop . Hidden hot spring protection association original Hidden hot spring Kumazasa shampoo ^^ Food corner Fukushima’s sweets Hidden hot spring preservation association They sell wine, Sagamiya’s original shochu beer, and ice cream.We were given information about check-in meal times, bath locations, and times.Dinner is served after 5:30 p.m., and breakfast is served after 7:30. The accommodation costs for this time will be disclosed at the end.Room review *Reservations can be made via the Japan Secret Hot Springs Association website or by phone.All rooms have a toilet, but there is no air conditioning. The 6-tatami and 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms are available. Next, we will introduce the 6-tatami and 10-tatami Japanese-style rooms. First is room 407, which has a washbasin, toilet, and refrigerator . Instant coffee and tea were available. It’s a 6-tatami Japanese-style room. You can see the hot spring steam from the window. A futon was laid out from the beginning. Tea, rice crackers, and biscuits . A dryer was available here. A purse, a bath towel, and a yukata were borrowed from the front desk when I checked in. There was a toothbrush and a face towel. The face towel also had a logo on it. There was no air conditioner, but a fan was provided. WiFi is available in the room. Thank you very much 👍 There is no problem with mobile phone reception (docomo). Next is room 208, a 10 tatami Japanese -style room. The washroom and toilet are compact. The futon was laid out from the beginning . The front is the view from the 10 tatami room. The mountain you can see over there is Mt. Onimen. Tokonoma~Closet There were hair dryers, coats, towels, etc. in the closet as well. Let me introduce you to the bath. There are two indoor baths, one on the second floor and one on the first floor, and an outdoor bath, each with a men’s and women’s bath. First, let’s go to the bathroom on the first floor. There are stairs along the way, so please be careful if you have difficulty walking. The indoor bath on the first floor is available 24 hours a day. The open-air bath is closed at night (22:00-8:00). The wooden retro atmosphere is the best 👍There is an entrance to the indoor bath on the left and an open-air bath in the back. The source name is Shinnoji Onsen, a sulfur spring with a pH of 6.8 and a high temperature of 83℃. First, there is the indoor bath for women. The women’s bath on the 1st floor is a changing area. The whole building is made of wood, which gives it a nice feel♪ The indoor bath on the first floor and the women’s bathroom are also made of wood, all the way to the top, giving it a nice atmosphere♪ The bathtub is large enough for 2-3 people, and is made of cypress. The hot water is white and has a very nice smell.The hot spring comes from here, and of course it is 100% free flowing from the source. There was one washing area. This is the “Secret Hot Spring Kumazara Shampoo”, an original product of the Secret Hot Spring Protection Association. You can’t see down, so hold on to the handrail to enter ^^ Next is the men’s bath. The changing area in the men’s bath is a little larger. 1st floor indoor bath The layout is almost symmetrical with the men’s and women’s baths. Similarly, the bathtub is entirely made of cypress, and has a very nice atmosphere 👍 The hot water is really clean 😍 The amount of hot spring water coming out is amazing (^^♪ Finally, we change into sandals for the open-air bath ^^ Umbrella for rain too It was so amazing that I cried out as soon as I stepped outside ^^ The men’s and women’s baths are separated outside. First, let’s go to the women’s bath to realize that the hot spring is a living thing. The view is amazing.The open air bath for women can only be described as amazing.The top is completely open, and the entire bath is made of wood, so it can accommodate 2-3 adults . The stump spout is the same ^^ The changing area is also open ^^ The handmade handrails are also nice ♪ Next is the men’s open air bath where the atmospheric path will liven up your mood ♪ The entire men’s bath is handmade and has a wonderful, wild atmosphere.You can see it from the other side, so be careful where you stand when you’re naked ^^ The smell is also great, making it an irresistible bath for hot spring lovers 👍 This is the angle of the large communal bath on the 2nd floor.On the 2nd floor, there are indoor baths “Hana” and “Tsuki”, and the baths are switched between men and women at night.Tsuki HanaFirst , we will introduce “Hana” (indoor bath + open-air bath). Large public bath “Hana” (women’s bath at the time of photo shoot) Considering the number of changing rooms (23 rooms), it is quite spacious.The bath on the second floor was completely renovated in 2024, so it is very new👍. A sink♪ Shower cap, comb, and toothbrush are provided.The large public bath on the 2nd floor, “Hana”, looks very new at first glance.The view from the window is truly magnificent.The bathtub is made of logs . ^^ Only the “Hana” bath has an open-air bath.The top is completely open👍This is also a cypress bath. There is a deck where you can enjoy the view of Mt. Onimen. There were four washrooms available. Next, we will introduce “Tsuki” (indoor bath only). “Tsuki” (men’s bath at the time of shooting) The changing area is about the same size. Since it was men’s time, shaving etc. were provided. Large public bath There is no Tsuki open-air bath, but you can take both depending on the time. Similarly, the bathtub is made entirely of cypress and is a wonderful bath👍The overflowing hot water is also very hot ^^ It’s time for dinner . Dinner will be served in the large hall at the back of the lobby. It’s a very large venue. There seem to be a lot of people staying alone ^^ Tea and water corner Choose your drink from here ^^ Seating was at a table on tatami mats It’s nice to be able to enjoy such a luxurious meal deep in the mountains 👍 Here’s the menu . There are plenty of wild vegetables and mountain fruits ^^ For the aperitif, I started with plum wine, followed by Fukushimaji beer, and the Weizen gave it a nice cloudy feel (^^♪ [Steamed food] Chawanmushi [Spices] Local cuisine Ika carrots This is a local dish that you must try when you come to Fukushima ^^ [Tsuchiyu specialty] Konnyaku sashimi, Saikyo pickled herring, galantine, simmered butterbur Konnyaku sashimi has a refreshing taste with miso ♪ Mountain products, simmered butterbur It is flavorful and crunchy ^^ [Small bowl] A slightly unusual, juicy and smooth texture is the best What is it? 👍 [Small bowl] Enjoy the bounty of warabi soaked in the mountains. 😍 [Simmered dish] Kawamata gamefish soaked in deep-fried eggplant The meat is firm and exquisite ^^ [Sashimi] You can enjoy sashimi at Sakura Taiyama Oku I’m so happy ♪ [Yakimono] Salt-grilled char You could call it the main dish (^^♪ It was freshly grilled, fluffy, and amazing ^^ The rice is glossy Koshihikari rice from Aizu♪ [Soup] Dashi soup Somen with a light dashi soup You can enjoy the refreshing Nisomen ^^ This is also the main dish, Fukushima beef grilled on a ceramic plate ♪ It looks so delicious (^^ ♪ The meat was thin, tender, juicy and exquisite 😍 The Maitake mushrooms are also delicious! [Fried food] Ground Vegetable tempura Even the tempura! The tempura at “Mehikari” was crispy ^^ [Sweets] The best dinner centered on warabi mochi and mountain delicacies. Thank you for the meal ^^ Night view The mattress in the room was a single thick mattress. ^^ It’s in front of the entrance.The open air bath was well lit until 10pm.Good night ~Zzz Morning view Breakfast is served in the same venue in the morning . Free refills of rice and flavored seaweed in the morning!
