Hello, Kokeshi Travel here 🪆 Morning of day two at Shigira Bayside Suite Allamanda. At Allamanda, you can choose between “breakfast (buffet)” or “brunch (à la carte).” Slept in today, so off to brunch 🍽
(I’ll introduce the buffet later in the video too 🙆♀️) Here we are at the hotel’s “Lounge Mayor” A lovely place where you can enjoy brunch overlooking the pool. The brunch menu looks like this, tough choices… Megane goes for the “100% Miyako Beef Burger” The patty looks thick and delicious 🤤 Kokeshi chooses “Egg Benedict & French Toast Half & Half” Melting eggs and cheese look delicious… 🤤 Brunch includes à la carte items, plus, bread and desserts are served buffet style 🙆♀️ Less crowded than the buffet breakfast, so, it’s recommended for those who want a peaceful breakfast 🙆♀️ And all-you-can-eat cake from the morning is just the best 🍰 After brunch, we explore the resort with a rental cart 🏎 Rental fee is 3,600 yen for 6 hours. More freedom than the shuttle bus, so recommended 😏
(Top-tier rooms include a free cart.) It’s super fun, just like riding a go-kart at an amusement park 🏎 The exhilaration of cutting through the wind is irresistible. Shigira Resort spans approximately 1.4 million tsubo, about 100 Tokyo Domes in size. Exploring by cart alone is fun with lots of discoveries 😀 Beautiful scenery and plants unique to Okinawa 🌳 And sometimes you might encounter mysterious wild birds 🦆 haha Now, driving the cart, we’ve arrived at… One of the attractions here, this lift “The Shigira Lift Ocean Sky” ✨ Megane: “Okinawa’s only pair lift…” Incidentally, guests ride for free! Let’s take a ride! Megane: “This is fun!” With the lift, the excitement of Kokeshi & Megane also rises (Whoo!!) Nice view up here (though it’s cloudy… haha) Reached the top in about 5 minutes 🗻 There’s nothing at the top, so we’re heading back down now. haha The view and weather seem better on the way down 🌤 Right after getting off the lift, we’re heading straight to the beach 🏖 And now, finally at the much-awaited beach 🌊 It’s a private beach, so it’s comfortable with few people around 🏖 Let’s dive in with enthusiasm! Kokeshi: “There are fish here!” And since it’s still June, it’s quite cold 😂 haha The sea is shallow, so you can walk quite far 😲 Used to do a lot of snorkeling and diving in the past, but lately, changing clothes and getting my face wet is a hassle, haha So, ended up choosing box glasses as the ultimate option. haha Kokeshi bursting into laughter while peering underwater with box glasses Megane: “What’s up?” Kokeshi: “There are way more tiny fish at my feet than I thought. haha” Kokeshi: “There are lots of striped fish about this size. haha” Kokeshi: “Look!” Kokeshi: “Look!” View from the box glasses 🐠 Indeed, there are more fish at the feet than expected. haha (Kokeshi & Megane laughing over the abundance of fish. haha) Even just with box glasses, it was plenty of fun 👍 Miyakojima is also famous as a habitat for sea turtles, for those who want to encounter wild sea turtles or, see the clownfish model for Nemo, it’s recommended to go a bit offshore for snorkeling or diving 🤿 Played in the sea for about an hour… Tired, so taking a break… And pretending to rest but actually cheers with Orion Beer 🍻 Gulping… Kokeshi: “Ahh~! That hits the spot, so good!” Apparently, it’s a unique deliciousness only found in Miyakojima. haha Kokeshi: “(That hits the spot, so good!) doesn’t come out easily, you know. haha” And now, blissfully napping 💤 Thinking of heading to dinner after a bit of sleep 🍽 Changed into the ‘YUM-YUM T-shirt’ I bought in Okinawa before heading to dinner Megane: “Nice T-shirt you’re wearing there.” Kokeshi with a smug face 😏 Arrived at “Nanpu Food Stall Village” 🏮 An outdoor food court within the Shigira Resort 🏮 You can order food and choose any seat you like 🙆♀️ Here’s the menu 📖 Quite reasonable for a luxury resort, right? 🙌 There’s another stall next door selling Okinawan-style Chinese food The red lanterns are quite atmospheric Feels like Japan but not quite Japan Check out this divine-looking Orion Beer 🍻 Looks delicious 🤤 Might have ordered a bit too much… Everything looked so tasty, couldn’t help myself… Megane: “Thought the portions would be small since it’s a hotel but…” Megane: “Everything came in large sizes… 😂” Cheers 🍻 Kokeshi: “The golden glow of Orion Beer… 🍻” Sounds like something out of a video game. haha Drinking the golden beer restores both HP and MP ⚔️ Kokeshi: “It tastes better because it shines!” While engaging in casual conversation, we keep eating through the huge meal Even with all these orders, it’s about the price of a regular izakaya, and it feels like a steal 👍 Before we know it, it’s time for the third toast Megane has chosen ‘Kuon,’ an aged awamori from Miyakojima This was delicious… As the day fades, the red lanterns add a nice touch Meanwhile, a folk music live has started 🪕 There’s something about Okinawan songs (and alcohol) that touches the heart… This is also one of the pleasures of traveling in Okinawa The staff livens up the mood with a finger whistle The unique dance of Okinawa is also pleasing to watch Clapping 👏 The next song seems to involve the audience, and everyone dances! Kokeshi practices the dance with a glass in hand The practice pays off, and the dancing is top-notch! Lightly tipsy and dancing around. haha The sense of unity in the venue, including the audience, was fantastic! Ending day two on a high note!! Good morning. Breakfast on day three at the restaurant ‘Maralunga’ Opted for a buffet-style breakfast today Lots of dishes using Okinawan ingredients. At the live kitchen, they make risotto and fried eggs 😲 Looks delicious 🤤 Chose a terrace seat, enjoying breakfast with a view of the sea 🍽 Hard to tell because of the bad weather, but the sea is visible in the back. haha After breakfast, it’s time for feeding the sea turtles 🐢 At Allamanda, a free feeding experience is held every day at 9:30 🐢 The sea turtles are cute… 🐢 Reminds me of a certain theme park’s Crush. haha Kokeshi wants to feed a red sea turtle 🐢 Is this what they call a loggerhead turtle?? If anyone knows about sea turtles, please let me know. haha Just feeding them, but never getting tired of it. Finally, the loggerhead turtle took some food! It’s cute how they stretch their necks to eat 🐢 A free experience but very satisfying! It starts at 9:30, but definitely try it if you’re staying here. Still have some time before the flight back, so we came to a cafe by the sea ☕ It’s great that you can hang out even after checking out at Shigira Resort Kokeshi is enjoying a mango juice 🍹 Kokeshi: “This mango is man-GO-licious!” (in a whisper) Megane: “Did you say ‘man-GO-licious!’…?” Kokeshi: “(half-laughing)” Orion is good, but Corona is also nice 🍺 Enjoying it with a squeezed lime 🍋🟩 Gulping… Kokeshi: “Refreshing!” Kokeshi: “During the day…” Kokeshi: “Refreshing with a Corona… 🍺” Kokeshi has a Miyako beef burger 🍔 Megane went for the Miyako soba 🍜 The hamburger is huge… haha Kokeshi: “Delicious!” Megane: “It’s huge… haha” Kokeshi: “But I can eat it because my mouth is big 👄” Megane: “Yeah, that’s good… haha” Next time, it’s a gourmet trip to Fukuoka!! A journey of endless delicious food and drinks 🍶 To a long-established tonkotsu ramen shop 🍜 Enjoying deep flavors that can only be found in Hakata 🍜 Evening at Hakata’s famous food stalls 🍺 Bite-sized gyoza and more, Getting drunk on the unique atmosphere of the food stalls 🫠 Drinking more than usual!!
