サンシルラポピー 秋のフランスの最も美しい村を訪れる旅 / アンティークな家具が素敵なホテル / 旧市街 / レストラン / Saint Cirq Lapopie, beautiful village
Hello everyone! This is Sayaka from quatre saisons. In October, my husband Matthieu and I visited Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in the Occitanie région. We arrived in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in early October, and it was still light a little before 19:00. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie has also been voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. A video of our visit in June 2023 is also available on Youtube. It’s lovely. Where are we today? Saint-Cirq-Lapopie! This is the fourth or fifth time we’ve been here. This is the first time we are staying in the village, so we are looking forward to that. The roses were still in bloom! It is slippery. There is a sandwich shop. It looks like only the café was handwriting. It’s a lovely house. It looks old. This restaurant was not open, but the terrace was very nice. We went to the shop on the left here to buy the beer that Matthieu wanted. We bought this set of beer called RATZ. We love this beer and he always orders this one when we find it in restaurants. These biscuits look delicious! There were a lot of sweets with walnuts! I bought these two. Looking forward to eating them! We went in just before closing time, so we rushed to do our shopping. This is the hotel where we are staying this time. Here is a brief introduction of the room we stayed in. This hotel is in the center of the village. Shower room. 🚽 I showed you the hotel room we are staying in tonight! It was October, but surprisingly there were still flowers in bloom. This ice-cream shop building is very nice! It was an old-looking house. We are now going to the church in front. The church was built in the 16th century. Before this church was built, there was a chapel here, built at the end of the 11th century. Today, only the Romanesque apse of that chapel remains. Before sunset, we take a walk around the village. There was an alleyway, so we went that way. We went back as it seemed to be a dead end after this point. We walked all the way here for this view. We returned to the hotel as we had a restaurant reservation. It is lovely when it is lit up. Depending on the time of day, it is as if you are walking through a different village than when you come. We don’t see any cats at all. There are many hills to get to the centre of the village, which was a bit hard for me as I was not very athletic. We decided to use a different road from the one we came in on. It’s a lovely house. What a surprise, it was the street behind the hotel where we are staying. We went back to the hotel where we were staying. We arrived at the restaurant we had booked. First of all, we toasted with a glass of wine! It’s delicious. This is the third time we have been to this restaurant. I always order the same, my favorite white wine. Matthieu was drinking a sparkling wine from Gaillac, which was too easy to drink! These are caramelized walnuts. I bought the same ones at the souvenir shop I mentioned earlier. It tasted like Japanese, Hina-arare. They said it has goat cheese in it. This red coulis sauce is sweet. It is like cream of goat cheese and has a very strong taste of goat cheese. If you don’t like this cheese, it can be difficult to eat. For me it was delicious. Truffle foie gras, regular foie gras, raw foie gras, baked foie gras. The restaurant staff told him to start with this warm one, so he took it! The baked foie gras was less strong than the regular foie gras. I ordered the salad. The cheese on the gingerbread is a goat cheese called cabecou. The cheese is covered with honey. Very tasty! He finished his wine, so he ordered a beer. It’s good ! He ordered duck breast ( Magret de canard ) with wine sauce. It is delicious. The smell of the slightly burnt meat is also nice. I ordered the lamb. It was very tender. Delicious. The meat is also very tender and tasty. Matthieu ordered the café gourmand. The red sauce one is a panna cotta. The walnut cake was topped with chocolate with grapes inside. The last dessert was alcoholic ice cream with a biscuit on top. I ordered the same dessert two years ago when I ate at this restaurant. This ice cream was very good! It did not seem to be vanilla. Dessert of pears cooked in Cahors wine and served with ice cream. Matthieu doesn’t like pears, but he liked this dessert. After the restaurant we returned to the hotel. Good night! Day 2! The view from our room window was good and we were happy right after waking up. We headed to the cantine for breakfast. The display in the restaurant, which was too attractive, and got me excited in the morning. Plum and apricot jam. They are homemade jams. The table is very nice! I wish I had a table like this at home. It looks delicious.
This pot to make coffee was nice, but it was quite hot. The milk is warm. The milk pot is also lovely. What is this little bread? This was a small pain au raisin. He has a lot of jam on it! Because it was so tasty! I heard that this hotel also has a restaurant, and I would like to have dinner here next time. We are now going up to the observatory. It was Saturday morning, and it was getting crowded. This village is so beautiful. We have to go up again. It didn’t rain last night. It was very nice weather, but it was dark and I couldn’t see anything. There are few street lights in rural villages. It is not very cold. I’m wearing the same clothes as when we were in Toulouse. That is the Lot River.
It seems to have rained recently and the water in the river is not very clean. The leaves have beautiful colours. Let’s go further up. We are going up to this place. This is the church we went to yesterday. Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is very beautiful. The roofs are all lovely. The tourist buses seem to have arrived and we see more and more tourists entering the village. We go up to the viewpoint further up. We have reached the topmost lookout point. There was a castle here, built in the 10th century and renovated in the 12th century. There are many birds. But not many cats. We had never been to this big, lovely house, so we decided to go there. I am not a fan of going downhill on stairs as I find them slippery. We decided to go down a path we had never been down. The autumn leaves at this place were amazing! This was the site of a former 13th century castle, which was discovered during excavations in 1996. This is one of three castles that once stood on the rock – the Cardaillac family castle. We have published a video of our visit to the village of Cardaillac in May 2024, which you can watch here. We then went to the Tourist Information Centre, which we were able to enter for the first time. (It was closed whenever we went there.) The Tourist Information Centre also had more souvenir goods than we expected. Lovely. Can we go downhill to the end of the street? The night before, though, there was only one restaurant open,
It was Saturday and there were quite a few restaurants getting ready to open for lunch. There is a nice smell. What is it? There are many nice houses. On the left is the restaurant where we had dinner the night before. They are already preparing lunch and it is really hard work in the restaurant. This terrace is very nice. The souvenir shop we went to the day before. If I went to the shop again, I would want this and that. Let’s go back to this souvenir shop one day! It’s not that far from Toulouse. (It’s not that close…) We are back at the hotel. We are going to check out now! We will now go to the parking lot and drive to our next destination! サンシルラポピーは、オクシタニー地域圏、ロット県にある、人口約200人の村です。
夫の出張のため10月にトゥールーズに1週間滞在していた私たちは、金曜日の夕方から旅に出ました。
最初の目的地は、サンシルラポピー。
村の中にあるアンティーク家具が素敵なホテルにチェックインした後、暗くなる前の短い時間で村の中を散策します。
夕食は予約してあったお気に入りのレストランへ。
翌日はホテルで朝食をいただいた後、再び村の中を歩いて美しい秋の風景を楽しみました。

This was utterly bewitching… It was like wandering through a fairytale. The lights at dusk were beautifully thought out, especially around the church. I can’t imagine what it would be like to live in a place like this – would you ever take it for granted ? I will never get to wander through this village, because I’ve had a knee replacement and the hills would be just too much. So I thank you for giving me the opportunity to see it as if I could. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
