道の駅よかわ・山田錦の日本酒と和菓子と【S660ドライブ】
Today, I’m going to visit another roadside station. But today, I’m only visiting one roadside station. Right now, I’m driving through Inagawa Town in Hyogo Prefecture. I’ve already visited all the roadside stations in Hyogo Prefecture. But during my trip, a new roadside station opened. So today, I’m going to visit this newly opened roadside station. It’s the 36th roadside station in Hyogo Prefecture. It’s located in a place called Yoshikawa, in Hyogo Prefecture. I’m heading to Roadside Station Yoshikawa. If you take the expressway, the roadside station is close by. But taking the expressway isn’t as interesting. I’m only visiting one roadside station today. So I’m going to drive to Roadside Station Yoshikawa using local roads. Last time, I visited a roadside station in Wakayama Prefecture. It was Roadside Station Nachi. That was the last roadside station in Wakayama Prefecture. I stopped by other roadside stations along the way, did some sightseeing, and then went to the station. After visiting Nachi, I completed all the roadside stations in Wakayama. Now… I’ve visited all the roadside stations in Osaka, Hyogo, Wakayama, and Nara. There’s one left in Shiga Prefecture, called Aino Tsuchiyama. But it’s currently under construction, so I can’t visit now. I’ll go there after the construction is finished. There are about 8 roadside stations left in Fukui Prefecture. Once I finish Fukui Prefecture, my roadside station journey will be complete. I’ve been using my weekdays off to visit these roadside stations. It’s taken me about two years to travel around the roadside stations in the Kinki region. If I could have traveled without going home, I probably would have finished my trip much sooner. But since I return home after each trip, it’s taken me a long time. Finally… I have about 10 roadside stations left in the Kinki region. The ones in Fukui Prefecture are a bit far away… And most of them are in the northern part of Fukui. It takes time to get to Fukui, So I’m planning to take some days off next month and visit them. I hope I can visit all the roadside stations. Roadside Station Yoshikawa in Hyogo Prefecture is very close to the Yoshikawa Interchange. So if you take the expressway, you’ll get there quickly. Even from Osaka, if you use the expressway, you can reach Yoshikawa in about 30 minutes. From here, it’s the city of Sanda in Hyogo Prefecture. I’ve driven these roads many times on my Hyogo roadside station journeys. I’ve passed through here so many times. And it’s also one of my favorite driving routes. These roads feel very familiar to me now. The weather is perfectly clear today. But lately, I can’t do without the air conditioner. It’s still cool enough to open the windows. Passing by Arima Fuji Park in Sanda City. From here, I’ll be entering the downtown area of Sanda. The elevated railway above is the JR train line. On the right side is Shin-Sanda Station. There are rows of well-planned residential neighborhoods here. These new towns were built around the time of Japan’s economic bubble. Back then, my parents were thinking about buying a condo around here. I still remember visiting model rooms several times with them. At the time, it was hard to buy one, because you had to win a lottery. We never won the lottery, so we couldn’t buy one. Now, the next stop is Roadside Station Yokawa. It seems like an existing facility was turned into a roadside station. The area around Yokawa is famous as the birthplace of Yamada Nishiki rice. There are shops with a great selection of sake. There’s also a hot spring, and a local products market. According to their website, it looks like a large roadside station. I’ll turn right at this intersection. As you leave the residential area, it starts to feel like the countryside. You can see some peaceful, rural scenery. There’s the Arima Country Club. The area around Yoshikawa in Hyogo Prefecture has a lot of golf courses. I was planning to do some sightseeing today too… I searched for tourist spots, but I couldn’t really find any. Maybe I just wasn’t able to find them. Even on the roadside station’s website, they do share some tourist information, but there’s a lot more info about places to eat. But one of my rules for this journey is to eat at the roadside station. That’s part of the fun of visiting roadside stations. Looking at the navigation, I’m now driving alongside the expressway. I’ve turned off the AC and am driving with the window open. It feels really nice. When you drive through the shade, the air feels cool and refreshing. I’m driving on Prefectural Route 356. I’ll turn left at this intersection. It’s 4 kilometers to Roadside Station Yokawa. The road you can see on the right side is the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway. Over there is “Yuon,” a place for yomogi steam baths. I’ve been there before. They used to serve lunch back then. I went there to eat, and it was delicious. But now it looks like they don’t serve meals anymore. Wow, it’s so beautiful! The scenery is really beautiful. It’s so nice. It’s 1.7 km to Roadside Station Yokawa. Now I’m driving on Prefectural Route 17. That’s a beautiful shrine over there. I can see Roadside Station Yokawa ahead. I’ve arrived at Roadside Station Yokawa. I just visited the new Roadside Station Yokawa in Hyogo Prefecture. I bought two products at Roadside Station Yokawa. You can sample sake at Roadside Station Yokawa. I bought sake made with Yamada Nishiki rice. It says it’s sake from Roadside Station Yokawa. This is a limited-time product available only at the station. By the time you watch this, it might already be sold out. And the other thing I bought is a special dorayaki only available at Roadside Station Yokawa. This dorayaki uses sake lees and other ingredients from Yokawa’s sake. I can’t eat this while driving. So I’ll take it home and enjoy it there. These are the two things I bought today. I’ll start by trying the dorayaki. The dorayaki is stamped with the Roadside Station Yokawa logo. It has a slight aroma of sake. When I check the ingredients… It contains sake and sake lees. I’ll cut it in half. This is what the inside looks like. You can really smell the sake as you eat it. Surprisingly, sake goes well with dorayaki. The cake is moist, and the sweet bean paste is delicious. If you don’t mind sake, I recommend trying this original dorayaki at Yokawa. There are lots of original products at Roadside Station Yokawa. They also sell paella and risotto made with Yamada Nishiki rice. I didn’t buy all the original items this time, but if you visit Yokawa, you should definitely try them. Now, I’m going to try the sake. This sake is made with 100% Yamada Nishiki rice from the special A district of Yokawa. It’s brewed entirely with Yamada Nishiki rice. Delicious! I wouldn’t recommend it if you prefer dry sake, but if you like sweeter sake, you’ll love this one. Since it’s a junmai ginjo, you can really enjoy the taste of Yamada Nishiki rice. Roadside Station Yokawa is highly recommended for sake lovers too. Yokawa is located in Miki City. The station has lots of information about Miki City. As the birthplace of Yamada Nishiki, it’s famous for its sake. There was a great selection of sake there. There were so many delicious-looking Japanese sakes. If you’re not driving, you can try sake at the tasting corner. It’s not free, but you can sample various types of sake. The bottles are beautifully displayed and easy to browse. I also visited a tourist spot near the roadside station. It’s a sightseeing spot right next to the station. You can walk there from the roadside station. The tourist information office at the station says you can leave your car there while you explore. Be sure to check out Kurotaki Falls as well. This time, I visited Roadside Station Yokawa in Hyogo Prefecture. Next time, I’m planning to visit roadside stations in Fukui Prefecture. On this channel, I travel around roadside stations in my beloved S660. There are just a few stations left in the Kinki region. I’ll be heading to Fukui, and I hope to visit every roadside station in Kinki at least once. If you love roadside stations, the S660, or driving videos, please subscribe to my channel!
