東尋坊に行く前に道の駅みくにふれあいパーク三里浜で激ウマ海鮮丼をいただく

From here, we’ll be driving along National Route 305. We’ll be heading north from this point. At the Michi-no-Eki Echizen we visited earlier, you can buy and ship fresh seafood. They were even selling crab, even during this season. I guess it must be frozen crab at this time of year. As expected for a coastal road, there are lots of tempting restaurants around here. You don’t necessarily have to eat seafood at a Michi-no-Eki. But the meals at the roadside station looked delicious too. The road here continues from Echizen Onsen. It looks like it would be fun to stroll around this area as well. It’s a place where you can really enjoy the local town atmosphere. It’s too hot to open the windows, but if you do, the sea breeze comes right in. We’ve entered the coastal road. On the left, you can see the magnificent view of the Sea of Japan. This road reminds me of the ones in Noto, Ishikawa Prefecture. Wow, that’s amazing. You can eat crab here too. That’s incredible. Looks like you can park your car here. We’re going to backtrack a bit. We’ll head a little north for now. I found a nice spot when I turned back, so I think I’ll go check it out. Tamagawa Kannon Hall. Let’s keep moving forward. The scenery around here is just amazing. Wow, look at these rock faces. I wonder if this area is a sightseeing spot? Wow, that’s an interesting shape. This place is really something. I wonder if you can stop here. The view here is absolutely beautiful. There are so many nice spots to stop along the way. Route 305 is a fantastic road for driving. There’s a parking lot here too, so you could do some sightseeing. Parking lots around here are paid lots. It seems there are many paid parking lots in this area. Route 305 is such a good road. It’s easy to drive, and the scenery is wonderful. You can get a seafood rice bowl here as well. I saw something called the “Matsuda Seiko Don.” No matter where you cut the video, the scenery is beautiful. Just amazing. There’s also an RV park here. It looks like it would feel great to go camping here. This is Benkei’s Washing Rocks. There’s a nice-looking restaurant too. The view here is beautiful too. Everywhere you look, the scenery is stunning. We’re heading north on Route 305. I really like the views of these seaside towns. There’s nothing like driving along the coast. It’s about six more minutes until we reach Michi-no-Eki Mikuni. Japan’s number one rakkyo (pickled shallots). I wonder if there are sandy fields around here too? We’re now entering Sakai City. And now I see the sign for Michi-no-Eki Mikuni. Only 2.5 kilometers left. This might be the last roadside station for today. We’re almost there—Michi-no-Eki Mikuni is just ahead. The sign says users of the Michi-no-Eki should keep to the right lane. Alright, we’ve arrived. This is Michi-no-Eki Mikuni. I just visited Michi-no-Eki Mikuni. I couldn’t find any original goods here either, but inside, it’s like a supermarket, with all sorts of local products for sale. Seafood, vegetables, local specialties—you name it. There was a big selection of things. This time, I picked up some prepared food. They had fried amberjack, so I bought some. I’ll have this for lunch. And one more thing— It’s this one. A seafood rice bowl. The takeout seafood bowl at the roadside station looked delicious, so I got one. This is the one I bought. Let’s give it a try. Itadakimasu. The sashimi is so plump and fresh. It looks delicious. So good! Honestly, I don’t even need to go into a restaurant. This is already delicious enough for me. Really tasty. There’s even tiny dried whitebait underneath. Wow, this is really good. All this quality for under 1,000 yen. I’m glad I bought it. Delicious. It might not always be available, but if you see it, you should definitely try it. And another one— The fried amberjack. The seafood bowl was great, so my expectations are high. Itadakimasu. You can really taste the freshness of the fish, but it would be even better with some sauce. But the taste of the fish itself is really delicious. Fish caught near the sea, especially when it’s handmade at a local shop, is always so tasty. It was truly delicious. I was able to visit three roadside stations today. Next, I’m planning to visit Tojinbo. After going to Tojinbo, I’ll head to my accommodation, and that will be the end of today’s Michi-no-Eki tour. Alright, let’s head to the next spot. Let’s go over toward Tojinbo. The Michi-no-Eki Mikuni from earlier was spacious and felt like a supermarket where you can shop. There’s also a restaurant. It seems like pickled shallots (rakkyo) are famous here. I couldn’t film inside the roadside station, but there was a trophy for rakkyo on display. The seafood rice bowl and fried fish I showed you earlier were both made at Michi-no-Eki Mikuni. They were really delicious. Great value for money. Maybe not for people looking for luxury, though. I’m still talking about that delicious seafood bowl. If you ate something like that at a restaurant, it would easily cost 1,500 or even 2,000 yen. If you ordered that seafood bowl in Osaka, it’d be really expensive. Not only was the fish delicious, but it had a lot of variety too. The price was only about 780 yen. That quality for that price is an amazing deal. It’s the best when something is delicious and cheap. This is the Kuzuryu River. You can tell the river is wide and close to the sea. It’s a really wide river. On the right, you can see the train of the Echizen Railway Mikuni Awara Line. On the left, that’s the Tojinbo Tower you can see. Arrived at Tojinbo. Now I’m heading to my accommodation for tonight. I just visited Tojinbo. Today I leisurely toured around the roadside stations. Even though I only visited three stations at a relaxed pace, it’s already past 4:00 p.m. From here, I’ll head toward my accommodation for the night. Tojinbo was really impressive. I couldn’t find the SOS emergency phone there. It’s a little scary since there are no fences or guardrails. The rocks are different, but there’s a similar place in Wakayama. I think it’s called Senjojiki. It had a similar atmosphere. Now I’ve arrived at Lake Kitagata.
