Fujisan 2024 | Fuji Five Lakes Tour!
Hello everyone! Tarou here~ We are heading to Japan! Flight is from New York to Tokyo We’re heading to Kawaguchiko Station to see Fujisan first Stretching our legs before getting onto our 15 hour flight 😓 By the way this video will be part of my Japan series, where I visit other places besides Fujisan! So stay tuned for the other videos 😊 Pasta or chicken with mac and cheese Reading a book to pass the time Chicken sandwich as a snack Almost there! Breakfast was bread pudding.. but with sausage? Not what I expected but not bad I spy Japan! Taking a train and a bus to get to Kawaguchiko Station Time lapse to our destination (I fell asleep on the bus ride) Here’s the station! It’s around 7pm but it’s already dark It’s dark but there’s Fujisan!! We are waiting for a taxi to get to our hotel We are staying at the Gran Report Princess, said to have great views of Fujisan from the room! Lobby of hotel with all their souvenirs (Super quick glimpse of the mountain) Before heading to dinner! An izakaya that’s walking distance to our hotel Our otoshi (small appetizer) And beer to celebrate the start of vacation! Refreshing salad to start Beef tataki, very tasty! Super tender~ Dashi tamago, they were very large! Kushi katsu (fried meat) Another salad~ Getting some snacks from the convenience store before heading to bed And that will be the end of a long day 1 First official day to see Fujisan in the daylight! …. except it’s very foggy… so we will go to the World Heritage Site instead Where did they hide an entire mountain 😭 Kind of hard to see, but it’s raining quite a bit We received complimentary biscuits from the hotel I think that’s where Fujisan would be Exploring the hotel a bit, there’s a cute lounge area We are venturing out! Getting our rental car First stop after getting our car is a coffee shop Flew all the way to Japan to go to a cafe called San Francisco 🤣 Very cozy vibes, especially when it’s raining! We each got a different type of bean for our drip coffee, they have many types to choose from! And for breakfast: spam and egg sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, and cake They were all very good, great way to start our day! And we made it to the World Heritage Site! Ready to learn all about the history of Fujisan Gift shop~ There’s actually 4 volcanoes that make up Fujisan! Look at how the colors change! Very pretty This section of history shows the religions and rituals that are a part of Fujisan There’s also a brief video on the history as well The mountain in the back coordinates its colors to match the video! So cool A simulation on climbing Fujisan! You can preview what routes you want to climb Definitely recommend to visit! You learn so much of its history, and perfect activity for a rainy day 😊 Last stop is of course another gift shop! That was very fun! We are now heading to an outdoor clothing store Another perfect rainy day activity And getting a light snack next door Look how cute these cups are! Fujisan design Light snack = udon Croquette also in the shape of Fujisan 😊 Hope it clears up tomorrow! Heading to dinner now Our dinner place! Has a water wheel! We are going to get hōtō, a noodle soup that originated from Yamanashi (which is where we are!) Actually a large amount of food Also fried fish called wakasagi! Look how flat! The texture is so cool Kabocha is a must ingredient in hōtō, and look at the size of it! A very good meal, thank you for the food and goodnight~ Today is supposed to be sunny! Plan is to stop by Oshino Hakkai, Yamanakako, Arakuyama, and Kawaguchiko ….. Not sunny 😭 Much foggier this morning, so hard to see even the houses close by! But in a couple of hours it has mostly cleared up! Cool looking mountains! We see a glimpse of Fujisan!! We made it to Oshino Hakkai! It features traditional village houses and shops with Fujisan as the backdrop Fish in the pond with very clear water! Watermill! Super fun to watch Shops are starting to open up! It is still quite early in the morning We stopped by this shop to get kusamochi (mochi and leaves of yomogi) and some dango Leaf is still in tact after a bite! Dango was very good as well We are exploring more of the village~ We came to a garden nearby, 200 yen entrance fee that you drop into a box near the gate Very serene 😊 Oshino Hakkai area was very crowded, but almost no one is here at all! We stumbled upon this deep pond Trying to see if I can see the bottom Anywhere we go, Fujisan is beautiful 😊 Stopped by to visit the shrines Great first stop! Going to head out now (spot the cat) Look how clearly we see Fujisan now! The first of the 5 lakes we are visiting is Yamanakako! It is the largest lake of the 5! For lunch we are going to eat at The Park There is a long wait to sit out on the balcony, but you can wait on the benches right outside Zooming in on a helicopter. View must be insane We got seated! Time to order~ Coffee to start Pancakes and eggs with sausage and salad! Vongole with a side salad Picnic basket which includes pickles, potato, and a burger with buns made from rice Last but not least! Honey cheese pancake So jiggly Didn’t need the knife, but wanted to get a cleaner cut in the middle to see the cross section But it was too jiggly! Very airy though and tasty if you like the honey cheese combo Waiting for the balcony seating was worth it! Inside isn’t bad either! But if the wait isn’t long I definitely recommend sitting outside Thank you The Park for a great meal! We decided to drive around the perimeter before heading to our next destination Just parked near Arakurayama Sengen Park The red leaves surrounding the mountain looks amazing There are many stairs on the way to get here, but the views are worth it! Straight in the middle If you don’t want to take stairs, you can go up this path Last stop of the day is Kawaguchiko, second largest lake and popular because it’s the most accessible by train New wallpaper~ We are also driving around the perimeter of Kawaguchiko for fun Scenery besides Fujisan is also beautiful Visited many places today! We are getting dinner here They have unaju which is unagi kabayaki served over rice, served in a square lacquerware bowl Some pickles as a side And here is my dinner!! If only I could share the smell over video~ The unagi is so soft, and there is no better combo than with rice Thank you for the meal! And for some reason they gave us chocolate for us to take home. Thank you! Goodnight and see you in the morning! Day 4! We are waking up early to see the sunrise at Kawaguchiko, then to Shiba Sakura, and the rest of the Lakes Today is our last day before we have to leave in the afternoon We woke up at 4AM and are heading to Kawaguchiko We parked our car and are walking along a path to get to a good viewing spot The sun is coming up but unfortunately it’s hiding behind clouds But fortunately Fujisan still looks beautiful, and the reflection is unreal! Cloud cap on a nearby mountain Sun is completely up now, and it’s very beautiful and quiet We are back at the hotel and checking out, thank you for the amazing stay! Driving to Shiba Sakura, where the land is filled with pink flowers (resembling sakura!) It truly is so pink!! And vast! Of course, Fujisan has to be in the backdrop! There’s also a section for showcasing Peter Rabbit, the children’s story We climbed up the tower to get a great view of the entire place! The way down connects to a gift shop! This bee is enjoying it here too Mini Fujisan Climbed to see Mini Fujisan at a higher angle Can you see all of the tadpoles?? Snippets of stories from Peter Rabbit! Very cute and creative Thank you Shiba Sakura! We are here at Motosuko! 3 out of 5 Lakes down Lodge for visitors and campers If you’ve ever seen the show Yuru Camp (also known as Laid Back Camp), you’d know Motosuko! They have a lot of their merch here! Would love to camp here next time~ It’s lunch time! Hamburg set! Burger was tender, vegetables were cooked perfectly! Reindeer curry, and decorated like a reindeer! This was very delicious Tempura don 😋 And lastly some soba! Coffee to finish up the meal, everything was great! With more energy now, we are heading to our next lake Shojiko – the smallest of the 5 lakes Less buildings and cars in the background, definitely more surrounded by nature than the other lakes Another great angle and view! The other mountains and trees are breathtaking too! We are heading to the last of the lakes Here at Saiko! We parked our car back there and walked along the path to get here And where is Fujisan you ask?? Right behind that big cloud 😭 Can’t be spoiled though, we saw Fujisan a lot already 😭 maybe next time There is a traditional village nearby Saiko that we decided to visit Entrance fee is 500 yen! You can explore houses, learn about the history, and shop around! There are many places inside that I couldn’t take videos so when you come visit, make sure you check it out yourself! As our last event, we are driving around the perimeter of Saiko 😊 Time to leave Fujisan and continue our journey in Japan Last tiny glimpse before we go Thank you Fujisan for being sunny part of the time we were here! Until next time 😊
