3 DAYS IN PORTO PORTUGAL 🇵🇹 Top Things to Do, See & Eat!

Porto is a city we’ve wanted to visit for years. 
And over the next three days, we’ll be exploring everything from the riverside streets of Ribeira 
with its colorful buildings and postcard views to climbing the iconic Clérigos Tower for some 
unforgettable views over the city. We’re also heading out on a day trip to the Douro Valley with 
a wine tour, a boat cruise, and some of the most stunning scenery in Portugal. If you’re planning 
your first visit to Porto or just want to see what this beautiful city is all about, this is the 
video for you. We have just made it to Porto guys and right now we’re inside what is considered 
one of the most beautiful train stations in the world called Sao Bento train station. Now 
all over the entrance to this train station, you’ll see these beautiful blue and white tiles. 
I did my research. They’re called azulejos. Very, very nice color entrance into this train 
station. And you actually see quite a few people just coming here as tourists to take a 
few photos ourselves. We actually took the train coming into Porto. And right now we’re going to 
be heading to a very charming street, very famous street where our accommodation is located. So we 
have just checked into our accommodation and it’s safe to say that we have never stayed in a place 
anything like this before because it has some sort of like the industrial feel to it, but it’s 
very spacious. So, we actually quite like it. So, you got some contemporary lighting as you 
walk through. There is a slab of concrete, but there is a rug there. This might not be 
everyone’s cup of tea, but we like it because, as Karolina said, is very spacious. You’ve got 
two floors. Let’s show you down here first. Yeah, it’s some sort of like the living room slash a 
kitchen area. There’s a dining table. There’s a sofa here. There’s a fully equipped kitchen. 
The concrete floor is actually quite a nice thing to have here because I don’t think there’s AC and 
it is very hot in Porto. I think it’s around over 30°. Yeah. And you can see in the corner we have a 
fan. But I do like the design of this uh bedroom. Although to point out there is one light working. 
This one doesn’t have a socket cuz it is quite a brand new uh place. I think they had like one 
review on Airbnb and it cost $110 in a fantastic location. So, we thought, let’s go for it. And 
actually, it looks quite elegant. Yeah, quite industrial as well. Yeah, nothing too fancy about 
it to be honest. Just a bog standard shower. Um, this is my first time seeing the bathroom. It is 
very basic, but hey, for $110 right next to Rua das Flores, not bad at all. Probably you know that 
feeling. You’ve just checked in, you’re starving, and all you want is a proper local meal. So, 
we headed straight for lunch at a place called Casa Guedes. The reviews were amazing, and we came 
specifically to try some classic Porto snacks. But first things first, we ordered a Super Bock. Now, 
we don’t usually drink, but this Portuguese beer surprised us. It was light, crisp, and paired 
perfectly with what we were about to eat. Wow. “Obrigado/Obrigada”. Thank you. Then came the real highlight, 
a roasted pork-leg sandwich with soft sheep cheese and caramelized onion cooked in port wine. 
The bread was nicely crisp on the outside and the pork was juicy and tender. I wasn’t expecting 
it to be as delicious as it is. It’s so tasty. We’re demolishing it. You could tell and even 
see that it was all made fresh. And that port wine gave the onions a rich depth that balance out 
the saltiness of the meat and cheese perfectly. We also really wanted to try the Cachorrinho porto 
version of a hot dog and it completely surprised us. It came with two types of sausage, a 
fried egg on top, gooey melted gouda cheese, and everything was covered in Francesinha 
sauce. It might sound like a crazy combo, but somehow it just works. Rich, cheesy, a little 
spicy, and super comforting. and paired with fries to mop up all that sauce. It was honestly 
one of the best combos we’ve had in Portugal. Spicy. You like it? And here’s the funny part. We 
originally planned to eat at Casa Guedes Tradicional, the main restaurant with over 15,000 glowing 
reviews, but we somehow ended up at their second location with a rooftop terras 
which was just close by. And honestly, no regrets. The vibe here was so relaxed. People 
sipping drinks, great music, and amazing food with a view. It felt like the perfect way to start our 
Porto adventure. We’re about to show you what is considered the most beautiful McDonald’s in the 
world. I’m filming this on the insta360 GO 3S on my hat. Look at this. It’s an eagle. And there’s also an 
eagle over here. Wow. Wasn’t expecting that. Yes. See the chandeliers in the sky, guys. 
Wow. Definitely doesn’t look like any McDonald’s that I’ve ever been in before. It 
looks more like an art gallery, doesn’t it, Karolina? Yeah, it looks like a ballroom. I 
love these stained glass windows on the back as well. Apart from that, every everything else is 
pretty much uh like typical for McDonald’s, right? Yes. What do you think? It’s crazy. Like, it’s 
insane. I don’t feel like in McDonald’s at all. Guys, it is 31° right now. I am roasting. 
And now we’re going to be going up to the top of the Clerigos Tower. It’s a 75 m 
bell tower. So, we’re going to be going up a lot of steps as we go up. Oh, it’s the 
bell’s ringing right now cuz it is 6:00. Wow. Woo. Hot, hot, hot here in Porto. Let’s go. 
Is there many steps? 220. 225. Okay. One for you, one for me. Thank you. Keep it until the end, 
please. Sure. Keep it until the end. Thank you. Give it to me because you will lose it. She knows 
me too well. Time to climb 225 steps to be exact. Up the tower. Yay. Quite dark in here. Yeah. 
And it’s so hot. Spotted some bells. There’s actually quite a few of them just up there. Yeah, 
there are even mini ones. Ah, the main bells are just here. The ones that were ringing Yeah. 
earlier. So interesting. And as we’re going up, we do have this kind of open section, so we get 
nice views out. The view will be so beautiful if it’s just the midway point or starting point. Is 
this the top, Karolina? H I don’t feel like we’ve gone up that many steps. Yeah, I don’t think so. 
Maybe it’s a midpoint. Maybe this is the top. Are we at the top? Yes, this is the top. Oh, this is 
the top. Okay, thank you. This is the highest you can go. Yeah. All right. I was expecting it to be 
harder, but it was okay. It’s good. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So, we’ve made it to the top, guys. 
Oh, wow. Look at the view here. This looks like something out of a movie. That is incredible. The 
view here, right? Look at all of the rooftops. And actually, the buildings are also so colorful. 
Like, they look like from the fairy tale. This is guys, what I’m seeing in front of me is 
probably one of the best views I’ve ever seen. And I was not expecting it. The Douro River with 
all the boats going down it. Wow. So much. And all the red rooftops. Incredible. It’s so romantic. 
So romantic. Yes. Where’s my kiss on the cheek? There we go. I’m happy. Ah, this is unobstructed. Hello. Hola. Hey, this is this is so nice, guys. 
Wow. See, you just walk around the top like this. This is magical. I didn’t realize Porto was 
that beautiful. From the bird’s eye view, you make your way around here, you’re literally 
getting 360 panoramic views of the city to start our next day in Porto. We literally 
walked just 2 minutes down the street from our Airbnb to Castro at the Pasteis de Nata. We found it 
on Google Maps and the amazing reviews quickly convinced us to give it a try. What really 
stood out when we arrived was the decor. Stylish black tile walls, a warm golden Castro 
sign and a curved glass display packed with rows of fresh past denata. Hello. Can I get two 
and one coffee? Yeah. Espresso Americano. American to go all to go. Uh yeah, all to go. Thank 
you. Just uh two and one coffee. Yeah. Through the window, we could even see one of the 
pastry chefs folding the dough by hand, getting everything ready. And at the back, there 
was this huge oven where they bake all the tarts fresh. And before heading out, we added a sprinkle 
of cinnamon and powdered sugar, which is how you’re supposed to enjoy them. Morning, guys. So, 
a lot of people are passing right now cuz we’re on the very charming Rua das Flores and they’re 
probably wondering why we are talking to a lampost and that’s because we’re using our brand new 
camera, the insta360 GO 3S, which is magnetic. So, it literally is a tiny little camera it 
mounts on to the lampost. Now, of course, we always start our mornings here in Portugal 
with pastel dinata. We’ve tried the famous pastas debellum in Lisbon. We’ve tried Mantaaria 
in Lisbon. We’re now in Porto, so we thought we’d change it up and we’re going to be trying now 
Castro. Let’s see how this one compares. You want to do the honors, Karolina? Yes. Also, 
Karolina had to get a coffee. Obviously, my life is easier when she’s had a coffee. And I’m 
happier. That’s how it looked. Cheers, Karolina. Now, that one is delicious. I’ll be honest, guys. 
Every single pasta danata we have tried has been incredible. But this one could be my favorite. 
Yeah, it’s very hard to compare, but they’re very like flaky, sweet, creamy, and crispy. You 
bite into it, you get that kind of creamy What’s inside of it again? Like egg custard. Egg custard. 
That’s it. Yeah. Then you got the beautiful glazed outside. And we did add cinnamon and icing sugar 
in the shop. Beautiful. It’s just nourishing your soul. Love it. You might have noticed that 
we’ve added a few shots to this video that we cannot really get with our main camera. And 
the best part is that we didn’t have to carry loads of gear with us to make it all happen. 
It’s all thanks to this tiny but mighty camera, the insta360 GO 3S. Look how tiny it is. It’s 
literally pocket size, even smaller than my phone, and so light that you don’t even feel it. Perfect

while I’m eating, cycling, or just exploring completely in the moment. And even though it’s

with our main footage and it stays super smooth. And because it’s magnetic on the back, too. You 
can literally mount it anywhere just like that, like on the Ponte Luis I bridge, on the railings, 
walls, coffee tables for all the creative shots you cannot really get with your phone. Capture

instrument. I’ve never seen it before. And he has these birds over here. And also, he’s got chickens 
just over there. And he’s using them to play some notes. and he’s running through some kind of paper 
with some musical notes on there. I have no idea, but I imagine this has got a lot of tracks 
inside of this kind of case over here. Next, we visited Livraria Lello, one of the most 
beautiful bookstores in the world. From the outside, it already looks like something out of a 
fairy tale. And as you can see, the lines to get in can get seriously long. We booked our tickets 
directly through the official website which gave us a timed entry slot and a QR code. Super easy 
to scan at the door. We highly recommend booking this in advance. Walking inside is honestly 
breathtaking. The intricate wood carvings, stained glass ceiling, and the grand red staircase. It all 
feels like something straight out of Harry Potter. And we have made it guys inside of the famous Lelo 
bookshop. You can see there are plenty of people inside of here. It is a little bit overwhelming 
with the numbers of people. Literally every single inch of floor is basically occupied by tourists, 
but for good reason because this is probably one of the most spectacular bookshops we’ve been 
in. And it is so beautiful even with the sheer number of people, especially the kind of grand 
staircase covered in like the red steps. But yeah, this is the the reality of coming in here, guys. 
It’s a bit intimidating to walk. You can see all the people there and all of the people’s having 
their phones and taking pictures. Nevertheless, very, very beautiful. The atmosphere is magical, 
but it’s also packed. Every corner is full of people snapping photos and taking it all in. You 
can browse and even buy books while you’re here, including special editions with Liberia’s 
own designs. Despite the crowns, it’s easy to see why this place is considered one of the 
most beautiful bookstores in the world. Next, we made our way to Rua de Santa Catarina, one of 
the most popular shopping streets in Porto. It’s a long pedestrian street lined with international 
brands, cafes, bakeries, and plenty of souvenir stalls. The vibe here is really lively. Locals 
and tourists walking side by side, people enjoying coffee or lunch under umbrellas, and street 
performers adding to the atmosphere. You will see everything from high street names like Pandora and 
Foot Locker to traditional Portuguese spots like Manteigaria for Pasteis de nata or Forca Portugal, a 
souvenir shop with a life-sized Cristiano Ronaldo figure that looked unbelievably real. Right at the 
top of Rua de Santa Catarina, you will spot the most stunning Chapel of Souls. And it’s honestly 
so hard to miss. The entire facade is covered in this incredible blue and white tiles known as 
Azules, telling stories from the lives of San Francis and San Catherine. And it’s not just 
the outside. If you step inside, it’s calm and peaceful with a golden altar, polished wooden 
benches, and a huge crystal chandere right in the middle. It’s not a large chapel, but there is 
something truly spectacular about its simplicity and calm. I don’t know if you knew, but Porto 
is often called the food capital of Portugal, and for a good reason. So, for a quick lunch and 
a little break, we wanted to try something a bit different and ended up at a place called Cult of 
Pita. The staff were super friendly and the vibe was so cool and creative. We just love the big 
yes baby sign on the wall, rustic wooden tables, and upbeat playlist. It definitely set the 
tone for a fun and relaxed lunch. Our humus dishes were absolute heaven. I went for the hummus 
shakshuka served warm with spiced tomato sauce, poached eggs, and creamy whipped feta cheese, all 
sitting on a silky bed of hummus. And Jay had the hummus sabish, a combo of roasted aberine, 8our 
loved boiled egg, herby spices, also served over hummus. Both came with fluffy warm pa on the side, 
perfect for scooping everything up. Honestly, we would 100% recommend it. Next up was Palacio 
de Bolsa, the old stock exchange building in Porto and hands down one of the city’s most stunning 
interiors. Hola. We have online tickets. Here, please. Oh, over here. Okay. You need 
to choose the time. We have an English tour at 4:00. Perfect. Two, right? Mhm. 2:44:00 in 
English. Perfect. “Obrigado”. Yes. Thank you. So, me and Karolina are just waiting for our tour 
to begin. We’re waiting inside of this very magnificent hall. Look at the beautiful atrium 
on top. I love how it’s lined with all these golden emblems. Welcome to the Stock Exchange 
Palace. The guide takes you through a series of grand rooms once used for official functions, 
sharing stories and little details you would never notice on your own. Like the hall lined with 
portraits of Portugal’s presidents over the years, or the diplomatic room where each wooden 
chair is reserved for a different country’s top representatives. And each room felt 
completely different with its own style, colors, and ornate details from neocclassical to 
renaissance to Arabic inspired. The true highlight is the Arab room. Inspired by the Alhambra in Spain, 
it’s covered in gold arches, intricate carvings, and Moorish patterns from floor to ceiling. One of 
our favorite details was this pair of blue lamps. They really stood out against the rest of their 
room and added such a bold contrast. And the most incredible is that this room is still used today 
to receive heads of state and official guests. So honestly, it’s absolutely jaw-dropping. Also, 
you could have a little peek into the Gustave Eiffel cabinet where he worked during his time in 
Porto before designing the famous Eiffel Tower in Paris. A really nice reminder of the city’s 
international connections. And we have made it down to the river to the Ribeira, the part of 
Porto everyone loves. And it’s easy to see why. We could definitely spend the entire day here in 
Rivera. Absolutely beautiful place. As we came in, it was just so magical seeing the boats going 
along the Douro Valley and all these beautiful buildings behind me. The bridge just looks so 
majestic. But we have more to show you guys and that involves actually crossing that bridge 
over to the other side where we should get some amazing views of the Ribeira itself. To end our 
day, we decided to make our way across the dom the first bridge. But first, you will need to 
hike up to the top level of the bridge to get there. It’s a bit of a climb, but totally worth 
it. We actually really enjoyed it because the walk across the bridge itself was beautiful. Now, 
you’ve got two great options. First is Jardim do Morro which is probably the most popular sunset spot 
in Porto because it’s a grassy little park at the end of the bridge where people bring drinks, 
listen to live music and watch the sun go down. We came on a Friday and the vibe was 
amazing, but it does get very busy, so expect a bit of a crowd. If you’re looking 
for a quieter and even more scenic view, we highly recommend hiking a little further 
up to the Mosteiro da Serra do Pilar. And the view from there with the sun setting behind Porto 
rooftops was honestly the best we experienced on our whole trip. Next up, we went to 
Brasão Aliados, one of the top rated spots in Porto, to try the famous Francesinha sandwich. With over 
15,000 reviews and a 4.6 star rating on Google, we had high expectations. Of course, 
Karolina went straight for a glass of port. It is Porto after all. I decided to mix 
things up a bit and went for a Porto Tonico, which was surprisingly refreshing. What is that 
on top? Is this what it says? Uh wine wineberg. Okay. Interesting. Okay. Thank Oh, it’s in 
the bowl. It says like ice. Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. It looks incredible. 
Look at this, guys. I thought it was like a tomato on the top, but uh it’s ice 
with port wine. Let’s give it a go. That’s very nice. And we also had a nice little 
coover to start things off. Next, I decided to indulge myself with a cheeky little mushroom 
and truffle resolve. And here was my reaction. That was really, really good. 
Wow. Wow. I think it’s coming. Oh, yeah. We can put it over here. Oh 
my god. You got the same thing? Yeah, it’s massive. I had it for lunch, too, at another 
place. Oh, you had it for lunch today. Must be good then. But this is what they recommended. 
How did you eat two of these? It was the same salad. We gain a couple of these next. Has to be 
done. Has to be. Yeah. Walk it off. Walk it off. Oh my god. Look how beautiful everything looks. 
That salad looks incredible as well. Yeah. This is a goat cheese salad with walnuts and some honey 
and some croutons on there. And uh I don’t know if I can. It’s actually very hot. It’s like piping 
hot. Is it? But uh it looks like a massive slab of like toast put together with a egg on top with 
some soup. Yeah. I wonder what’s inside of here. I’m actually not too sure. That’s going to be 
very interesting. Yeah. And also they recommended us to go for the French fries to accompany it. 
In Portugal, everything goes well with French fries. And you’re the happiest about that. I’m not 
going to lie, guys. I’m a little bit intimidated by this. But I’m going to cut through the middle 
and see what we find. Looks absolutely delightful. Oh, wow. There’s steak inside. Oh, I can see 
sausage as well. Does it? Yeah. There’s so much to this. Oh my god. And it’s [ __ ] 
hot. I’m not going to lie. It looks like a a heart attack waiting to happen. But 
a very delicious one. I can even see ham inside of here. And I wonder wonder 
what this kind of soup taste is like. It’s a bit of a sloppy mess. I’m not going to lie. It’s like tomato soup. So, I feel like 
I’m eating like a a sandwich with steak, sausage, ham dipped in like tomato sauce. 
I’ve never tried anything quite like it, but actually, for some reason, it works. 
And there’s also cheese on top. Yeah. So, it tastes exactly how it looks. You know what? 
I want to get some of that steak. Big mouthful. It’s very hearty. I can understand why people 
enjoy it. I think it’s something I’d have like once in a while cuz it is really kind of packs a 
punch with the flavor. I would give it a solid 8 out of 10. Very nice. And I love the fact that 
you got pieces of sausage inside of it as well. Of course, on our last day before leaving Porto, 
we decided to do something special. a day tour to the Douro Valley where the famous port wines are 
being produced. And honestly, it turned out to be the highlight of our entire trip. You will see

drive from Porto city center to the Doro Valley usually takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes by 
mini bus, but we made a scenic little stop along the way in a charming town called Amarante. It 
was the perfect break to stretch our legs, taking in the beautiful views from the bridge and tried 
some traditional Portuguese sweets. From Amarante, we continued deeper into the Douro Valley and 
the views just kept getting better and better. We were a little worried about the weather 
at first because it was looking a bit gloomy, but the skies cleared up beautifully and we 
got to see the region in all its glory. And then it was time for the main event, our first 
wine tasting. We arrived at Quinta Dao Louise, home of Kopke wines. And even the drive there was 
absolutely stunning. Rows of vines rolling over the hills like something out of a painting. After 
a quick look around, we started the tour. We got a peek at the massive steel tanks where the wine 
begins its journey and then stepped into the aging room. All dimly lit with giant wooden barrels 
stacked high. It smelled amazing in there. Woody, rich, and warm. But let’s be honest, we were here 
for the tasting. We tried three different wines. A light wine, a smooth white port, and finally a 
10-year-old Tory that completely stole the show. After the tasting, we hopped on a river cruise 
along the Douro and it was absolutely stunning. We hopped back onto the mini bus for a short 
scenic drive through Mo Vineyards and soon arrived at the most peaceful picture perfect lunch 
spot and we were treated to a free course lunch where you could choose your main dish. Naturally, 
everything was paired with more delicious wine because at this point, why not? Right after 
lunch, the tour included a second tasting, and this time around in a cozy little wine 
seller on site. We honestly couldn’t have imagined a better way to end the day and our
