エン・ゲディ・イスラエル・ウォーキングツアー:サウル王の隠れ家、ダビデの隠れ家!死海に面した驚異の砂漠のオアシス。
Well, welcome to the Holy Land and this biblical site of Engeti. Enghetti is mentioned in the Bible. This is one of the places that David hid out with his men when King Saul was chasing him to take his life. Also, it has spectacular waterfalls. It’s just unbelievable. It can only make sense that this is why David would come to this area. A lot of water. We’re here in this desert. It’s just absolutely barren. and all of a sudden you have this just lush kind of tropical vegetation in the middle of a desert. Just really, really unbelievable and special. So, we invite you to join us on this walking tour. We’re going to show you these beautiful places, these waterfalls, these little pools of water. We’ll wait a little bit in the water. A lot of people come here because it’s just so beautiful and it’s a place to get away from the hot heat of the Dead Sea area. So today is expected to get up to around 107° here. We’re filming this midmay, but it’s really hot here. So anyway, we’re really excited to do this. So we invite you to join us on this walking tour. [Music] So, this is the route we’ll be taking. We’re starting out at the visitor center area, and we’ll be hiking all the way up to the upper falls. This is close to where David hid out with his men. Along the way, we’ll be seeing the stream with its many pools and falls. Then, we’ll hike back down the mountain to return to the visitor center. [Music] Okay, we will go through the entrance here, get our ticket, our entrance pass. So, everything’s good there. So, now you can see on the walls here, these photos, these are images of the kinds of animals that are in the park. Even though it’s a desert, because of this oasis, because of these falls, this water, this kind of tropical sense down in this valley gorge, there’s just a lot of different kinds of animals that live here. Quite fascinating, quite special just to see all of this. And we’ll probably see some as we’re walking throughout the park here. Looking forward to it. [Music] [Music] The meaning of the word engeti is composed of two words. N means spring or a fountain and Getty means a goat kid or a goat. So in Getty thus means goat spring or fountain of the goat. Interesting. [Music] So, just a little bit about the historical background as we walk along here. And Getty was inhabited by the Canaanites during the time of Abraham and Lot. And then the Dead Sea basin was once like a garden of the Lord. It says in Genesis 13:10, “Lot lifted up his eyes and saw the valley of the Jordan that it was well watered everywhere. This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah like the garden of the Lord. So again, before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, this area was very lush. It was watered like scripture says like the garden of the Lord. But then because of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the other cities in the valley here, because of their deep sin, then God changed the environment of this area. However, future prophecies say that once again this area is going to be well watered during the millennial reign of Christ on the earth. So very fascinating this area. Once again really really special just see all this and just to think about all that happened here. [Music] [Music] I guess [Music] I don’t [Music] from the visitor center up to the first waterfall is basically flat. Then after the first waterfall, then you begin your climb going up to the upper fall. This is the path to the Ibeck and Animal Observatory here at the park. We’ll be seeing it on our way back down the hike. It’s really special and you won’t want to miss it. Within Getty’s strategic location on the western shore of the Dead Sea, it dates back to some 5,000 years and was originally a commerce town and an important source of medical balsom. The arid desert climate has kept some of the archaeological ruins well preserved to this day throughout the years. You’ll notice on the face of this mountain in front of us a number of caves. Some are bigger than others. The Bible speaks about how David and his men hid in these caves. They hid obviously in the larger ones, but this gives you an idea of the caves in this area. [Music] And get nature reserved was declared as a reserve at the end of 1971 and expanded in 1988. And it is one of Israel’s most important nature reserves. [Music] No, [Music] as we’ve indicated, Engeti is located by the Dead Sea, which is the lowest place on Earth at approximately 1,000 ft or 400 m below sea level. So, this reserve is actually one of the lowest nature reserves on Earth. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] And Getty is found in the Bible in numerous occasions. On one it’s found as a love poem in the book of Song of Solomon. It says in chapter 1 verse 14, “My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms in the vineyards of Engeti. [Music] Okay. Well, we’re going to continue our hike up. As we look over here, though, we can see this first waterfall. This is the first one. This is where a lot of people go to because it’s easily accessed. From here, then you’re going to be hiking up, starting the ascent up. There’ll be other pools along the way that we’ll see, but this here is a real popular one. So, now we’re going to continue hiking up to the upper waterfall. [Music] [Music] As we hike up here to these upper waterfalls, I just want to take some time and just help us to understand the meaning of this Engeti and how God used a place like Engeti to help the Israelites really understand some foundational concepts about who he is. The Israelites were a desert people whose whole history was related mainly to the desert. Also, much of Israel today is a desert. So, the Israelites fully knew that living water meant life and survival. And God would use the desert and living water as examples of judgment upon Israel. says in Jeremiah 2:12, “Be appalled, O heavens, at this,” “Be shocked, be utterly desolate, declares the Lord, for my people have committed two evils. They have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and heuned out for themselves broken sistns that can hold no water.” So the Israelites traded living water which was a representative of God for their own broken ways which were like heed out sistns that couldn’t hold any water whatsoever that were stagnant dead dying water. And God used desert imagery to show how those who abandon him are like a parched desert without water. says in Jeremiah 17:5, “Thus says the Lord, cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.” That’s referring to this area down here in the Dead Sea. Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, whose trust is in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when heat comes for its leaves remain green and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. So again, you can see all of this imagery that scripture talks about here really fits well and it’s possible that this imagery was taken right from this very place of Engeti that’s a stream trees by it. It’s just a refreshing place. So God used this place to really teach some foundational concepts. Then of course we see that later on Christ referred to himself as the source of living water. says in John 7:38, “On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, if anyone thirst, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Jesus is going right back to these quotes, these prophecies in the Old Testament to show that he is fulfilling them. And if we will partake and have a relationship with him, then we will have rivers of living water that flow out of our being. Really amazing when you think about it and just really look at really what took place here. Really special. Let’s [Music] go touch it. [Music] Well, here we are by this stream here going up to the waterfall. Absolutely beautiful. This water is crystal clear. I’m going to go ahead and give me a drink. I’ve been hiking up here and it’s about 100 or so degrees and so I’m going to get me some water out of this in Getty Spring. Interestingly, the Engeti Oasis is host to the densest concentration of tropical plants growing in Israel, some of which are exceedingly rare. [Music] I’m in Aaz. Something interesting about Engeti is that there are many small springs that flow into the main stream. As we walk under this tropical canopy, it’s like we’re in a different place in the world. Although, when Getty is in a dry, barren desert, it’s like we’re in a tropical paradise halfway around the world. The warm temperatures along with the abundance and quality of the water of Engeti make it possible for a variety of vegetation and animals to survive here. This makes it one of the most unique places on Earth. [Music] [Music] And Getty was also one of David’s main hideouts when Saul was pursuing his life. It says in 1st Samuel 23:28. So Saul returned from pursuing after David and went against the Philistines. Therefore, that place was called the rock of escape. And David went up from there and lived in the strongholds of Engeti. The rock of escape some believe is Masaba. So this place was where David would hide out on occasion. And again, you can see why it’s so lush. It’s refreshing. It’s cool. Lot of water, lot of shade. Perfect place to be and to hide out from Saul. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Well, here we are approaching the long awaited Upper Waterfall, also known as David’s Waterfall. It’s the most popular and largest waterfall in the area. A person could relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of it for hours, if not days. [Music] Well, here we’ve hiked all the way up here and you can see this beautiful waterfall. Once again, there’s a lot of caves around here, so it’s in a spot like this where David would have hid out. It was probably hot. This was a reprieve, beautiful, lush, lots of water. The men could rest with their families. They could wash, they could bathe, they could eat, they could just cool down and hide out in a spot just like this. Then also says in scripture that David had a stronghold and we believe that would be Msada which is just south of here just a few miles or a few kilometers. So absolutely beautiful and precious to be here looking at this waterfall and just thinking of David being here with his men and just seeking the Lord and God supernaturally protecting him. Really really special. [Music] [Music] [Music] Look, tell them a bad time. [Music] And Getty National Park has many hiking trails. There are also two ravines or what are called in Israel wadis. Wadis are rivers or streams that are seasonal. However, the streams in Engeti have water in them all year. We hiked Watti David, which is the most popular. But as you can see, you could spend all day or days hiking all the trails around Inggeti. There is a lot to see. [Music] Okay. Well, now we’re going to start our hike back down the trail. So, we’re going to go from here down to the visitors center where we started, but along the way, we’re going to see a lot of pools, a lot of streams, just a lot of special things to see. So, from here, we’re going to be going back down the mountain. One of the highlights of this walking tour as we descend to the lower part is the IBEX observatory lookout where we can see IBEX goats and many other animals. So, I’m excited to see this and show it to you. [Music] [Music] Come on. [Music] [Music] [Music] I know that [Music] [Music] Well, here we are taking a little bit of break, eating a little lunch on our hike here. We’re right by a lovely waterfall. Really, really special to be here. Really enjoying it. Having a good time, huh? [Music] There we go. [Music] This [Music] Thank you. [Music] Well, we’ve hiked down the trail and we’re back at the first waterfall. We’re now going to make our way down the trail and see the Ibeck’s observation lookout. Ibeck’s goats are sure-footed, sturdy wild goats that live on the cliffs and in the rugged terrain of the desert mountains. So, let’s go down to this lookout and see what animals we can spot at this observatory. We’ll take one last look at this first waterfall and soak in the family atmosphere as we see so many people enjoying and relaxing in this oasis. As mentioned, it’s really hot here today, so it’s especially refreshing to enjoy the water. [Music] So, now we’re on the trail heading up to this IBC lookout point. It’s going to be up here just a little ways. [Music] [Music] [Music] Okay. Okay. Well, now we can see it coming up up here. We’re going to check it out and see what it’s all about. Okay, we’re going to go inside here. It’s got a lot of shade. It’s really nice. See if we can see anything. Come on. [Music] Hey. [Music] Okay, we’re going to head on down now back to the visitor center. Got some special things here we’re going to check out and continue on our journey. [Music] So, as you can see here again, from the first waterfall back down to the visitor center, it’s somewhat flat, just a gradual climb. So, if you come here and you don’t want to hike up to the upper waterfall, then you can just come to the visitor center, then go to the first waterfall, relatively flat, experience that, and then you’re good to go. That’s what we do with some teams when we come to Israel if they don’t want to hike all the way up. So, as we’re walking along here, headed back to the visitor center, enjoying this amazing beauty here, what are some faith lessons we can learn from in Getty? Well, one, living water in the Bible refers to spiritual life and vitality found only in being right with God. Stagnant water is full of sickness and disease and refers to the person who lives life without being right with God. Have we received Christ, the source of living water? Do we fellowship regularly with God in order to receive living water for our souls? Do we read God’s word which gives living water to our spirits and nourishes our hearts? And lastly, are we seeking to find life and joy in our own pursuits and neglecting our relationship with God? Once again, Jeremiah 2:12 says, “Be appalled, O heavens, at this. Be shocked. Be utterly desolate, declares the Lord, for my people have committed two evils. They have forsaken me the fountain of living waters and hewed out sistns for themselves, broken sistns that can hold no water. So we have a choice. Do we want living water which comes from God or do we want stagnant dead water that comes as we pursue our own pursuits and neglect God? really important concepts to ponder here as we just think about this area. This area that represents refreshing that represents life, fountains of living water versus close by a desert which has nothing and even sistns which have stagnant dead water. So I hope that we take these things to heart and really put them in practice and can see the contrast of living water and how beautiful that is represented here in Ingeti with dead water and sistns represented in the Dead Sea and in broken sistns that have no living water in them. Well, here we are returning to the visitor center. It’s really a popular spot to eat lunch while visiting the refreshing waters of Engeti. Many locals come here for a time of relaxation and refreshment. You can also buy food and drinks and souvenirs inside the visitor center. [Music] [Music] Well, thank you for watching this video and may God richly bless you. [Music]

En Gedi in the Bible
1. En Gedi was used in a love poem in the book of Song of Solomon (Song of Solomon 1:14).
2. In the Millennial Reign of Christ on earth, God speaks of how He will change the Dead Sea region again to be like a garden due to a supernatural river flowing from Jerusalem (Ezekiel 47:9–10).
3. En Gedi was one of David’s main hideouts when Saul was pursuing his life (1 Samuel 23:28–29).
4. En Gedi is a perfect example of living water in the desert.
5. God used the desert and living water as examples of judgment upon Israel (Jeremiah 2:12–13).
6. God used desert imagery to show how those who abandon Him are like a parched desert without water (Jeremiah 17:5–8).
Faith Lesson from En Gedi
1. Living Water in the Bible refers to spiritual life and vitality found only in being right with God.
2. Stagnant water is full of sickness and diseases, and refers to the person who lives life without being right with God.
3. Have we received Christ, the source of living water?

Glory to your name Jesus🙏
Thank you 🙏 God bless ❤
Hello from Georgia….Thank you. Wonderful Sabbath post. Sodom's beauty before Judgement, reminds us of God's intent after Judgement. As it was in the past, so it shall be in the future. "But they shall sit ever man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid" (Micah)….As God walked the Garden of Eden…"Behold , the dwelling of God is with men, He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people" (Rev 21)…Amen…Always look for a post on the Sabbath…)
