(Takeover by @andyto) wanted to share with you guys the experience I went through to get this photo. It was 12am, I just got back from a long day of shooting in New York. I started packing my gear. I went with the 5dmk3 + 14mm and @jlinhh’s 70d + 24-70. I was very fortunate to shoot double bodies. My 14mm would’ve been way too wide for the shots that I wanted. After making sure I had sd cards, batteries charged, and lenses cleaned it was already 1am. I jumped in the shower to try to relieve the stress from being awake all day. I started day dreaming, it’s my way of loosening up my brain I suppose. After showering I was inspired to edit some photos that I took earlier in the day. Wandering around New York in below freezing temperatures alone was one of the most enlightening experiences I’ve ever been through. Fast forward to 3am, I know if I slept now I wouldn’t be able to wake up, so I decided to pull an all nighter. I ate a little bit of the left over halal guys that the girls bought and starts packing my gear to head out to grand central station at 4:30 am to meet up with @gilbrtortiz & company. We purchased our train fare and shot the station a little. At 5:30am we hopped on a train to white plains. Upon arriving at white plains we got picked up by our pilot. Now it’s 7:00am and we can start to see the sun slowly hitting the horizon as were flying into the city. My whole body is numb and we didn’t even start to shoot yet. I didn’t get any sleep the night before but knew that I had to be optimistic. And in that same instance my finger was on the shutter and it went off. 600 rounds each body. The energy ran through me like electricity. I couldn’t feel my hands at one point. It didn’t stop me. As I was looking back at the city I took one last photo, with my eyes.
