Anime, Pokemon & Character Goods Shopping in Osaka Parco (Ghibli, Peanuts, Lego, Capcom) グッズ買い物パルコ大阪

Hi everyone, David here! Welcome back to
the channel! Thanks for coming back for another video or welcome if it’s your first one, thanks
for joining us! How are you doing? Are you OK? I think I’m doing OK, I’m a bit frazzled. It’s
suddenly got hot and humid in Osaka, hopefully that’s not summer arriving. I hoped we had
rainy season still to come but who knows. I’m in a nice air-conditioned building today, I
went to Shinsaibashi’s Parco building and also the neighbouring Daimaru building which is
a great place for shopping if you’re looking for some character goods, video game merch,
anime stuff, all sorts. I’m going to show you around those. Shinsaibashi is quite close
to Namba, it’s sort of the south central downtown Osaka, very easy to get to. You can
get there by the Midosuji or Nagahori Tsurumi Ryokuchi line. And you can just walk there
from Namba if you want to. I’m going to take you inside it. It’s mostly a department store, which
means high value brand goods, things like that, some fancy cafes and restaurants but also it’s
got some variety goods, I think they’re called. So all of your geeky merchandise anime
tie-ins, Pokémon that’s all up there too. I’m going to show you around those. I’m going
to show you the various anime tie-in shops, like the Jump Shop, the Studio Ghibli shop, Snoopy
the Pokémon centre, there’s a special display that’s already finished on the top floor
but I’ll show you that, and various other characters that are famous in Japan. I’ll show
you all of those. Godzilla, Ultraman, Lego as well. So all sorts of things. So I’m going to see
you on the other side, I’ll do some narration. Please like this video, leave a comment or a
question, subscribe to the channel if you haven’t. Share this channel, that’ll help me so much.
Leave a Super Like if this was super useful and also you can join one of my membership levels
if you really love me. So I’m going to see you on the other side and enjoy! OK a nice sunny day
in Shinsaibashi in the middle of Osaka. Here we are at the Parco building. We’re going to start
on the fifth floo,r this is Kiddyland, this is home to various franchises and all types of
goods. We’ve got Sanrio here, see all the Sanrio characters whose names I can’t quite remember.
There’s plush toys and little phone case things. Not sure what these little pouch things are, and
some little paper art as well. Kind of 3D art box things you can make, they’re very cute. Paper
theatres I think they’re called. Miffy had quite a large area too. Miffy is very popular in Japan,
the little Dutch rabbit. So you can see little plushies, little Japanese versions and other
little bits of merch. Some plates there I think. What’s that? Tote bags, little snacks as well .
You can get some miffy cake if you really want to Elsewhere there’s a little Kirby corner, Pupupu
Market. We can find some little Kirby figurines. and of course more plushies. We’re going to
have lots of plushies by the end, big ones as well! You can use it as a little pillow if you want to.
Very cute little Kirby. We’ve also got some Sailor moon goods too you can look at.
Mostly ladies’ things like little accessories, merchandise, earrings, t-shirts and things.
Very cute! Now there’s a little bit of limited Nintendo stuff and Pokémon as well but we’ll
see more Pokémon soon, maybe the Nintendo store in Umeda is better for you. Nagano Market,
I don’t really know what this character was. A kind of polar bear? So if you know what that is
then check this out. It must be fairly niche, I think I’ve heard of most of them. Bandai Namco
have their own shop as well, so home to things like One Piece card game. They’ve got all these
little figurines too. Ichibankuji is the kind of lottery merchandise stuff that you can get in
convenience stores. I think they must be the end of the line stuff, so you can get very exclusive
merchandise from these lotteries. Some Dragon Ball things, One Piece and so on. I even found
one of my favourite anime at the moment which Laid-back Camp, Yurukyan. I can find some
figures there too. And of course collectibles, Gacha Gacha machines aren’t too far behind.
So make sure you’ve got a lot of 100-yen coins. And 300 400 500-yen toys can be yours.
All sorts of things there. There was a special premium Jump goods
shop. So you can see this nice One Piece Luffy statue, some interesting ducks too. Let’s go up
to the sixth floor now. We are… well maybe you can guess who we’re going to see here. This is
Donguri Republic, the Republic of Acorns. This is the Ghibli merchandise shop. So you can find
all sorts of things, tote bags, some nice sculpturey things as well,
artistic pieces and a cute little Catbus. You can also take your photos with Totoro, and also
No-Face is sitting there, a bit sad on the train. And there’s all sorts of things for around
the house. We’ve got a mosquito coil, a little pig Porco Rosso thing, a robot head, you can  buy
some things on vinyl, some of the soundtracks. There’s a little corner here for pamphlets,
kind of art books from the various movies. And of course clothes as well, we can buy some
clothes, tote bags and rather busy looking shirts. So if you enjoyed Porco Rosso there seems to
be quite a lot of Porco Rosso things. Things for around the house, diorama-looking models
of the bathhouse and some Kodama as well. The forest spirit, don’t cut his head off. So there
we go, that’s the Ghibli store. I think it was pretty well stocked compared to the one in
Ghibli Park. Next door is the Lego shop as well. We can tell this is the official Osaka store
because we’ve got some Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki we’ve got Billiken as well. And of course we’ve
got one of the Osaka monuments, Tsutenkaku in Lego style. As usual we’ve got a variety of
different sets from all different franchises. I enjoyed that! And some special
Japan-only things for gifts. I don’t really like the flower ones to be honest .
But Animal Crossing is more up my street. You can see Animal Crossing special models.
Nearby is the Godzilla store. Well if you know who Godzilla is by now, there he is, the big man. And various bits of merchandise from all the endless movies they’ve created over
the last 50 years. And figurines as well of course. We’ve got a Crayon Shinchan shop as well .
I never really got into this one but it seems like it was more marketed towards kids. We’ve
got some little kiddy socks, snacks and things. If you like Crayon Shinchan, knock yourself out.
Chiikawa is one of the most popular mascots at the moment. I don’t really see the appeal
myself for this one, but endless plush toys as far as the I can see. So if you love
Chiikawa, there wasn’t much of a line this time. Usually there’s huge lines for Chiikawa merch.
We’ve also got Rilakkuma and Sumikko gurashi, some of the famous mascot character things.
Lots of bears and little chickens, plush toys and of course you can get designer clothes.
Special limited-edition items only from this shop. There we go, more models. Yeah make sure
you’ve got a big suitcase if you’re going to bring all these plushies. At least they’re not heavy.
You can buy homeware as well, knife and fork sets and little bits and bob,s little gadgets.
Nearby Snoopy Town as well. Snoopy’s incredibly popular in Japan too. So a very large shop here.
You can buy little keychains and bits and bobs. “Happiness is a warm puppy”. Speaking of
which, here’s a puppy. Doesn’t look like Snoopy to me. And some cute little bits and bobs you
can buy. Some more busy patterned shirts and some little mugs. Is that a coin bank? I think that
is a piggy bank, very cute. We love Snoopy! There’s an Ultraman shop if you’re into that. No
filming inside there though, so I left that alone. Capcom store, I’m a video game player so Capcom is close to my heart with Street Fighter. Other people are into Monster Hunter as well,
they’ve got the Monster Hunter corner, or MonHan as they call it here. Lots of different merch for Monster Hunter. They even have some exclusive art from the creators or some
autographs, that’s nice for a fan. And everyone’s favourite lawyer, Ace Attorney
series has its own little corner too. Elsewhere there’s some strange art areas too, there’s a
giant hamburger. Not really sure what the reason for that was. OK let’s skip over to Daimaru now.
On the ninth floor there is a special Pokémon centre. You can see these legendary birds all
lined up waiting for us. Can we get legendary deals? I’m not sure. Of course as you expect,
Pokémon centre has lots of plushies, more and more plushies. I don’t know how you’re going to fit all this in your suitcase. Got some Pokéballs, all different sizes and shapes of plushies no
matter how creepy, giant or gelatinous they are. There’s basically plushies from every single
Pokémon you can think of. So they’re thinking of everybody’s favourites. There’s other things like
furniture as well. You can get nice cushions don’t get snot on them please. Some special
super soft ones for little kids. I think they have some limited edition ones too. We’ve got
some little accessories too. I think these are for the card game. They have coins, playmats,
things like that. You can even make a jelly mould out of a Ditto or Metamon as it’s called in Japan.
Alola is getting represented too, see all the Alolan forms. I love Alola and there’s the
legendaries down there. These little Pokéball things are actually bath bombs, so you can drop
them in your bath and unlock a Pokémon inside. So like I said lots of stuff for the card game,
and you can carry all those around in these stylish bags I did like the design of this –
What’s that called? – Reuniclus one. If you like evolution chains you can actually get an
evolution chain on a key ring. Also some little plastic models too. There’s a very wide range of
these in the series. They’ve got Eevees all lined up too, plushies everywhere really! Some of these are very cute. I don’t remember all of these. I like the little Polywag though,
very cute. Then you’ve got other things, stationery, stickers, some little notebooks there
as well, if you want to practice your kanji. And some snacks as well. I don’t really want a
little mouse on top of mine, but here are various Pokémon snacks you can enjoy. I think these
are onesies or blankets or pillows or something. They very look very soft.. and other various
little homeware things. I liked these little silhouette lights, little wall lights, very cute.
Of course the video games are represented too you can get Scarlet and Violet and some of the
other digital versions. They’re having a special event of cave dwellers, so lots of underground
Pokémon. And this great Golem which has the pre-evolutions inside it, which is cool. If you’ve
got too many plushies, you can buy a special backpack you can keep them in. So there we go,
that’s the main entrance. You can see a lot of the starters there, and a few extras. Nearby
there’s also a Pokémon cafe, so you can buy special Pokemon chef goods, some tableware.
But good luck getting a reservation because you can see it was booked up for the day. So please
get in there quickly! Now elsewhere, I think this is back in the Parco building a bit further up,
we’ve got the Jump Comics shop. You’ve got One Piece, things like that. I couldn’t look inside
here, you weren’t allowed to film inside, but I wasn’t inside so here we are, a little peek.
Jump Comic goods there. And finally we’ve got the Kirby cafe as well. I think this is on the same
same floor actually as the Pokémon centre. I think this is still in Daimaru. So you
can get some Kirby special food. And of course some merch as well. On the top
of Parco there’s an event space on the 14th floor. I was very lucky that this was a Square Enix one.
I’m a big Final Fantasy fan so you can enjoy some of the Dragon Quest universe goods.
Posters and plushies, of course Final Fantasy has some nice models, get the Buster Sword
the Buster Bike and the Buster whatever else… little plushies there, very cute. You can even get
some soundtracks as well, if you want to get the Super Mario RPG vinyl soundtrack, that’s very
nice. You can get other Square Enix properties’ soundtracks too. Unfortunately this is already
finished by the time this video goes out, but still nice to see these pop-up shops sometimes.
So thanks for watching so far, I’m going to close it off in a moment. OK welcome back thanks for
staying all the way to the end, I appreciate that! So what did you think about Parco and Daimaru?
I think there’s a lot of things to see there. It was less crowded than if you go to Umeda
I’ve shown you the Nintendo store, which also has a Pokémon centre. I’ve been to a few
other places with character goods. Loft is a good place as well. I think the Loft I showed in
that video has either closed down or it’s closing down or relocating but Loft is always a
good place to visit. But yeah, what did you think? The Pokémon centre is very nice, not a huge
area really but it’s pretty dense. It’s got quite a lot of different things in it, mostly plushies and things. But there were some interesting other items there, for example those bath bombs .
I really liked that Golem which has the pre-evolutions inside it. I couldn’t really show you
that in the video, I don’t have enough hands. But I really liked that and some of the
decorations were pretty cool too. I love the Ghibli shop as well. Very nice and immersive
with the big tree in the middle, No-Face, Totoro around there. All sorts of different goods,
good for souvenirs and just presents for yourself. The character goods stuff, I mean I don’t really
buy a lot of merchandise to be honest. This was actually a present, thank you to Mikito
for giving me this. Things like Snoopy was very cute, I probably wouldn’t buy that myself. But
I can see the appeal certainly. There’s so many little mascot characters, like Chiikawa,
I don’t really know that well. I don’t know, you saw them in the video didn’t you? Anime
goods too, all sorts of things, the One Piece Jump shop was interesting, and the Capcom
shop is good for me. I don’t really know that many Capcom games to play. I played
Street Fighter a lot, and Ace Attorney… is that it? Maybe some more. Yeah so there’s everything
you can look for there. Do reserve that restaurant if you want to get in there. I think you
can do it online, so get in there early, because people are very organized. That was fully booked, that was first thing on a Thursday! So I think people are booking online to
get those bookings. So yeah like I said this is in Shinsaibashi, so it’s actually under…
the building is on top of the subway, so if you exit looking for Daimaru or Parco,
you can emerge just underneath it. You just have to go up to the 5th or 6th floor
of Parco, or Daimaru 9th floor for the Pokémon centre and those other shops. So
definitely check it out, it’s very easy to get to, nice and air conditioned in the middle of
summer. so I appreciated that too! There we go, I think that’s everything today. Let me know if
you have any questions, leave a comment or a question, like this video, subscribe, leave a
Super Like if you really love me. What else? Subscribe to the channel, share it, all that stuff,
that’ll help me out a lot. I am planning to do another video, actually I’ve already recorded it.
I went to Tokyu Hands which is a big stationary store. Once I get a chance to edit that,
I’ll put that up as well. So if you like this sort of shopping thing let me know in the
comments. That’ll help me guide future videos! Let me know if you have any requests of where
to go. OK I think we’re done, so thank you for watching, take care, see you later.
Happy shopping, see you again, bye-bye!

A lot of people come to Japan for its pop culture, whether it’s anime, video games or cute characters. If you’ve got some yen to use on presents for yourself (and other people, I suppose…), why not try Shinsaibashi’s Parco building and adjacent Daimaru Department Store?

You can find a few floors of very specialist character goods from Studio Ghibli, Peanuts, Lego, Ultraman, Godzilla, Crayon Shinchan, One Piece, Chiikawa, Sumikko Gurashi, Rilakkuma, and of course the special Pokemon Center.

I’ll take you on a tour around these secret floors, so get your wallets ready!
