Japan Walking Tour
Walking around Ikuta Station Current location: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture This is Ikuta Station, located in Tama Ward, Kawasaki City. This time, we will start from the station and take a walk around the area. Please subscribe to our channel. We need your help to keep this channel running. This is my first time getting off at Ikuta Station. It feels like the home of Meiji University’s Ikuta Campus. Are all the young people Meiji University students? There’s nothing notable around the station. If you go to the left, it looks like Meiji University. Our goal is the shrine above. Gotanda Shrine. It’s a small shrine that doesn’t even have a torii gate. Below is the river and railroad tracks. The river cut into the hills and created the land. There was a torii gate on this side. Above is a branch shrine of Musashi Mitake Shrine. This time, I’ve added background music to the noisy parts. That’s almost all of it. Next is Suga Shrine, located in a residential area. The old stones are surrounded by a fence to protect them from weathering. It feels like a shrine rooted in the local community. This place is apparently famous for its illuminated weeping cherry trees. This is it. Now it is green and lush. It’s a hilly area, so there are lots of steps, slopes, and stairs. After walking for a while, we arrived at a place called Seiren-do. The steps look like a castle wall. Inside is a vast cemetery. I also like these narrow roads. According to Google Maps, this seems to be a temple called Shingyoji Temple. It looks like a cemetery management office. It’s not a Buddha statue, but an anthropomorphized frog. Each grave is large in area. The plots look expensive. You can see the hills on the other side. Scenery of a cemetery An unusually shaped bell tower Finally, we visited Seigenji Temple. Perhaps it’s a case of see no monkey, hear no monkey, speak no monkey. This temple was founded at the end of the Sengoku period, so it’s been a little over 400 years. Deer statue found It’s up there, but it’s steep. Is that okay? That’s all for today. Thank you for watching. If you enjoyed it, please subscribe and like the channel.
