老挝金三角,全是中国人,这里只收人民币,物价比肩香港,到处是园区
There are too many parks on this street, one next to another . We are now inside the park (inspected by Laos troops). When we come to the Laos Golden Triangle Special Zone, we feel like we have returned to China. We use RMB to speak Chinese here. Even the buildings in the entire special zone are medium-sized. Chinese-style restaurants from all over the country seem to be found here. Whether you are Laotian, Burmese, Indian or African, you must be able to speak Chinese in the Laos Golden Triangle. Are you Laotian, Burmese, Burmese, Lao Burmese? We also saw countless Chinese blue-plate cars on the road. The luxury cars here are dizzying. Ferraris and Rolls-Royces can be seen everywhere. The most shocking thing is that the prices here are almost non-existent. Hotels are ridiculously expensive under 500 yuan. Eating is also ridiculously expensive. A bowl of fried noodles costs more than 30 yuan. A portion of porridge costs more than 10 yuan. The starting price of a taxi for two kilometers is 40 yuan. So what kind of invisible force has made the price of special economic zones in this poor country soar to such an extent ? Is it really because of the parks here? How many parks are there? Let’s explore the Laos Golden Triangle Special Zone with the baboon Wen Tao . Now I’m walking around in the Golden Triangle Special Zone to see if there is any place to buy a phone card, because after leaving the river, Thai cards don’t work and there is no signal. This seems to be some kind of dormitory building . There are people from various countries. The one wearing a cage is Burmese, and it is easier to recognize him. The black man may also be working here, maybe at the construction sites next to it, and there are faces inside that are East Asian, and they may be Chinese. Our hotel brother told us that they lived in bungalows like this when they first came to the Golden Triangle of Laos. The comparison is really great. It’s a bit obvious. The front feels like a modern city. Then when you look over there , especially with all kinds of people living there, it feels a bit like a slum. Let me show you the dormitory building here. The density of living in this dormitory building is also quite high. The clothes are hung to dry and the air conditioning is dense. The security of this dormitory building is quite good. It is surrounded by people. There are green wire railings, and there are many people patrolling inside. When I first looked inside, the patrol officers were looking at me. There were surveillance cameras there, which shocked me. There were so many surveillance cameras surrounding the fence, and there were people patrolling. There was actually a Meituan takeaway here. I don’t have a signal on my phone right now , otherwise I could check to see if I could search nearby businesses . It’s amazing. Meituan has gone overseas. Look at this dormitory. This is a door in the dormitory area. There are all kinds of takeaways. They should be crowded. The boxes are packed with five, six, seven or eight. The security guy keeps looking at me. I am a little scared. There is a Laoerma supermarket. Let’s go inside and buy some drinks. We enter the supermarket and get a VIP card. Only with a card can you purchase products that are all from China. They are all from China, and they all have various condiments. The price is not bad . A pack of marinade for such a big package costs 6 yuan. He directly marked the price in Chinese. The hot pot base costs 9 yuan, which is almost the same as in China. Unlike Sihanoukville , the price here is US dollars. It ‘s still very acceptable. It’s not expensive. The one we bought at home is also 16767. This one is 5 yuan. Is this 3 yuan? Can you use WeChat and Alipay? It’s great. But I don’t have a signal. Can you scan me and give us a bag ? Are you from Laos? Myanmar, Lao Myanmar . Hello, are you Chinese? Lao people, Lao Burmese, it’s so funny that you call them Lao Burmese. Thank you, bye. It’s so funny that Lao people call them Burmese people, Lao Burmese. I feel that this is what we usually call Lao Burmese. We went out and went to so many Chinese supermarkets for the first time. We also encountered Jianlibao and Wahaha. The price is a little more expensive, but not as exaggerated as in Sihanoukville. Jianlibao costs 3 yuan and 5 yuan. We walked under a row of office buildings and you can see that there are many such luxury cars in this row of Maserati and Mercedes-Benz E-Class . The most outrageous thing in the end is that this Jaguar actually has an expensive A license plate. China and Laos can drive by themselves. I think this guy is very powerful. He can drive so far and drive here. We can drive to Laos for a self-driving trip in the future, right? Then we can drive to the Golden Triangle. Then there are a lot of South Asian workers here and some workers from Myanmar. The two people who just passed by don’t know if they are Indian or Bangladeshi. They look very similar to Calcutta, India or Bangladesh. After walking a few hundred meters from our hotel, we arrived at a carousel. You see, the tall buildings around this carousel are a bit beautiful. This carousel also has a line of words written here: Mysterious Golden Triangle, Green Golden Triangle, Passion. The Golden Triangle is so passionate. I didn’t know that there is a sauna and spa opposite. There are too many good cars, and a Maybach passed by. It’s good here. The worst cars are Toyota and Kia. We have now arrived in Chinatown in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. We just asked a few card dealers. There are many kinds of digital cards here . They all sell mobile phones and computers. They also sell phone cards, but the prices we asked from several companies are different, and some cost 70. Some are 50, some are 60 , and the traffic given is different, so we went directly to Chinatown, which is more lively. This should be the core area of the entire Laos Golden Triangle Special Zone. Let’s look here. There is another tea shop here, but I don’t know if it is real or fake. There is also a spicy hotpot. Is this KFC in front of it real or fake? He doesn’t have KFC either Only KFC and Laotian are written here. They are full of delicious Nanchang Mixed Rice Noodles. There is also a park on the right side. It is surrounded by heavy barbed wire. There are security guards at the door who check all kinds of documents when entering and exiting. There is an Internet cafe at the door. It feels like these restaurants at the door eat, there are Internet cafes , and these express points opposite are used by the staff in the park. There is a service worker here at a nightclub. There is a Maserati in front of the nightclub. It has a Sichuan A license plate. We just entered Chinatown and saw a lot of hotels. We saw on the map that there are actually a lot of hotels in Chinatown , but there are many and they are expensive. The uniform price here in the entire Golden Triangle Special Zone is basically not less than 500. Just when we asked , the cheapest one was 420. The cheapest one is a small hotel like 450. I guess it’s not as good as the one we stayed in. Just now I looked at the introduction of this Chinatown written outside. It was only repaired four or five years ago, so now everything looks quite new , and some places are still under construction. The person who led the construction of this place is Zhao Wei, the first chairman of the Laos Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone . He is also Chinese. Now there are a lot of antique buildings here. It is not just the Chinatown we saw before , but the Chinese people gather here. The whole architectural style is very gorgeous. This Chinatown should be getting bigger and bigger in the future. I saw the introduction at the entrance saying that it is now two to three hundred meters long from north to south and more than seven hundred meters long from east to west. But I think the gate on that side is quite far away. It should be built one after another in the future. Let’s continue to go to the front of the particularly beautiful one. Architecture: We also saw it in the Northern Triangle of Thailand last night. It is the largest comprehensive business place here. It is called Golden Kapok. This place was actually developed by one of our Chinese companies called Golden Kapok, so this should be its core. There are too many Chinese-style buildings here. Many pedestrian streets in ancient cities are built like this. There is a brand new Land Rover here and a Jaguar in front. There are too many good cars here, one after another. These ancient buildings are everywhere. It is particularly beautiful. There is also a turret like this. This kind of turret is usually found in ancient China. Inside the ancient city wall , there is a defensive position on the side. Archery is done here. In the center of Chinatown, we see a temple here called Chongshan Temple . The parking lot of this temple is very impressive. Let us take a look. There are cars from Chongqing and cars from Henan and Jilin. There are also local cars from Laos and cars from Hunan. Chinatown is indeed Chinatown. After passing this temple, we finally found a very important place we were looking for today , the local official business hall. This business hall was closed. The baboon continued to look for a small one. Ask about the business hall , and you can see a row of shops below the business hall and a densely packed dormitory building above it. Because it is not like a hotel, clothes are not usually hung like this. If you see this kind of clothes hanging out the window, it looks like a dormitory. Upstairs , there are two air conditioners in each room . How many people live there? There is also such a big building next to it. We are now walking to a street called Lao-China Friendship Street. It is already past 5 o’clock in the afternoon and it seems that many employees are off work. The boys are all wearing blue tops and black trousers , and the girls are wearing purple tops and black miniskirts. The skirts are so short that they basically reach the top of the thigh. We walked further and arrived under the Kapok Star Hotel, because the entire Laos The Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone was developed by the Golden Kapok Group, so there are too many named after Kapok. The Kapok Star Hotel seems to be an entertainment venue. The golden yellow building below is a hotel. This building is a landmark building here. We spent two hours in the Laos Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone this afternoon and found that there are really many parks here. There are five or six different companies on one street, but these parks seem to be semi-open . When employees go to and from work every day, they sign in or clock in at the security guard at the door, so they can enter and exit normally and have contact with the outside world. At the same time, we also found many people from other countries in the Golden Triangle Special Zone, including African faces and some South Asians. At first, we didn’t know what these people did here. Later, we chatted with a Chinese brother here and found out that they also work in this kind of park, because now these companies are not just doing business in one place, they are now doing international business, with a lot of Europe, North America and so on. There are some needs from India. These employees here are responsible for some business in places where they may be more proficient in the language. This place has built many buildings. This is the most famous Kapok Star Hotel. Look ahead, and the second one from the left of the building has been built. I just saw a lot of MPVs here , which are used to pull guests. It is very similar to when we were in Sihanoukville. The city of Sihanoukville also had many entertainment cities. At night, I don’t know whether it was from the airport or the station, and a lot of people came to spend money. We are now going to the Mekong River to watch the sunset . We passed by a project called Xinyue City Center. It seems to be the kind of mansion with a riverside urban complex of 500,000 square meters. Oh my god, did he draw this rendering? Or does he say that he will build this blueprint like this in the future ? This is going to be built by the Mekong River. It’s amazing that there is such a big city. We quickly take the opportunity to go in and take a look. Once it is built , we can’t afford to go. It’s still a construction site, so we can go watch the sunset by the river. This project department is owned by China Power Construction. Several Chinese workers just came out of the construction site. The accent sounds a bit like the people there in Sichuan and Chongqing. Yes, I feel like I am riding a battery car back to China. There are people of all nationalities at this construction site. Are you off work? After work, the building in front is being built for a rest. Building 6, 8, and 17 are so close to each other. The floor area ratio is a bit high. The two boys are so thin. I don’t know which country they are from. The Tenaka on their faces should be Burmese youths from Myanmar. We found a northwest noodle restaurant here in Chinatown. We have been in Southeast Asia for so long and haven’t discovered Shaanxi yet. We ordered a bowl of noodles from Xi’an tonight , but the price was a bit expensive. This bowl cost 35 yuan , and a bottle of Bingfeng cost 12 yuan, which is basically 2 to 3 times more than in Xi’an. It still felt quite expensive, but it looked quite delicious. When we went to the store in the afternoon, it was too late and we didn’t get a mobile phone card . There are many shops in Chinatown where you can apply for a card. We applied for a card for 60 yuan, which has 15G of traffic. I think it is quite expensive . It’s much more expensive than Thailand, and the internet speed is generally not very good. It’s so delicious that we haven’t eaten noodles in a long time. It’s so delicious that it’s very close to the noodle shop downstairs in our neighborhood. The noodles are particularly chewy and the portions are quite large. It’s obvious that our boss from Shaanxi opened it. Why is the consumption here so expensive? Hahaha, anyway, everything is expensive here. We will go back at night and it’s not safe to walk in the special zone. It’s not very safe here. Sometimes they are the workers from Myanmar . They may Sometimes if you don’t have money, sometimes you can steal something. Others are very safe. There are too many parks on this street, one next to another. We are now inside the park. These restaurants below are all for the employees above. It is 7:30 in the evening. It seems that everyone working here has got off work. It will suddenly be very lively. There are many motorcycles and tuk-tuks, taxis, and private cars on this street . But I was thinking that the consumption in this place is so high. We just went to a Guilin rice noodle shop. The cheapest one costs 35. The price of two taels is basically three times higher than that in China. The consumption is so high. How much income and salary do people here have to earn to live? It’s too exaggerated. I feel that if you work here and the money is not much, you will basically earn money here. I don’t want to take it back home. On the second day of the Laos Golden Triangle Special Zone, we continued to visit the park here. The entire Golden Triangle Special Zone is full of high-rise buildings, but these High-rise buildings are extremely guarded. There are Laotian or Burmese security guards at the entrance of each park. The inspection here is very strict. If you want to enter, you must have a work permit in the park. Even delivery people cannot deliver food. When I chatted with the security guys about the situation here, they were also very tight-lipped. Next, we continued to visit the Laos Golden Triangle Special Zone. Hello everyone, I am a baboon and we are backpacking around Southeast Asia. Now we are in the Laos Golden Triangle. Today is our second day in the Laos Golden Triangle. Yesterday afternoon, when we were walking around here, we found many parks. We wanted to go in and take a look last night, but it was too late. We thought it might not be safe. After getting up this morning, we continued to go to the park to see if there was a chance to go inside. We walked out of the hotel for two or three minutes and came to the downstairs of one of the parks. There are really many parks in the Laos Golden Triangle, one next to the other , and there may be five or six very large parks on the road . There is no need to bother looking for it. You can see it everywhere. The one behind me should be relatively large. You can see it from the balcony of our hotel. There are about five or six apartment buildings of this size. They are all at the back. The entrance to the park is in front. But I looked at us. It seems like you can’t get in. You need to swipe your card. You can swipe it to enter a person or a car. Let’s see if there is a way to go around from the back of the park. Do you have your card? What card is the access card here? The work card is here. Can I go in and take a look? What are you going to do? Can you go and see it? Can’t you see it here? You must have a work card. Thank you. This card is this. This is a work card. This is a work card. You have to have this card to get in. I just went to the entrance of this park and tried my luck. The security guard was very alert. He saw me coming over with a face and asked me for a work card. I said I didn’t have a work card. Then I went in to take a look. He said no, I can’t look at it . Then there was something right next to me. Some workers in the park came out. I took a look at their work cards, which were all written in Chinese. They have many departments, job titles, various information, nationality, age, and photos. It should be very strict. When entering, the security will look at the photo to see if the person is the person. The management here is quite strict. We have now reached the outer edge of the park. There is a circle of green railings blocking this park. Fortunately, it does not have that kind of barbed wire fence on it. It looks okay. Now we go to the front to look for any parks with less strict management. But I think it is difficult. I don’t know how many people live in this house. There are so many air conditioner plug-ins on the balcony. Now I basically understand the structure of this park. It’s on the left. This yellow and white building is an office building, which is full of computer rooms. The dormitory building is next to it on the right. This park is not very easy to enter. I just walked around and saw only one main entrance, which is also guarded by security guards. The park is surrounded by railings and countless cameras. People from outside can’t get in. Can you go in? Do you have a card? If you don’t have a card, you can’t go in. Your friend will pick me up. Let my friend come out and pick me up. Do you know how much the salary of the people working upstairs here is? I don’t know the security at your door is 3500. People who deliver food can’t go in and put it at the door. I just chatted with the security guy in this park for a long time. We both had a very pleasant chat. I spent a long time with him, but he In the end, they still couldn’t let me in. The two security guys are both Burmese. He told me that there are many people from other countries in the park , but the most common ones are Chinese. But the division of labor is different. The Chinese mainly work in the offices upstairs, while the people from other countries, such as Burmese , mainly work as security guards or people down below. I just did some engineering or delivered food. I just asked the security guy about the salary in the park. The guy said they didn’t know how much the Chinese people upstairs earned, but he told me his salary. The two Burmese guys at the door were security guards. One salary was 3,500 yuan and the other was 3,200 yuan. They felt very satisfied because of this salary. It is much higher than in Myanmar. We just went to Myanmar last month. The salary for occupations such as security in Myanmar is generally between 120,000 and 200,000 kyats , which is two, three, three, and four hundred yuan. It is very low. It has basically increased by 10 times. The accommodation for Chinese employees and employees from other countries in this park is not in the same place. Chinese employees live here inside the park . Next to the office building is their dormitory building , but employees from other countries, such as Indians and Burmese , live in a row of bungalows opposite the park. I saw a lot of people wearing cages walking around, and there were also people wearing cages playing beach volleyball inside. We went over to take a look and see what the dormitory area opposite looked like . We just arrived at their worker gathering area. I saw a lot of people coming in and out at the door . It’s so big . There are nearly 10 rows of houses here. The 10 rows are all bungalows on that side. There are also bungalows under the high-rise buildings. Then there are at least 10 rows here. You can’t see the head. It feels like a big village. The community area prohibits honking. There are many cameras. When I arrived, there was a Sichuan C license plate. Many Burmese people felt that they were all Burmese. This place should be called Burmese Village. The people who wear Tenaka on their faces are all Burmese and wear cages. I think Burmese are easier to recognize outside, unlike sometimes I can’t tell the difference between Thais and Laotians. From here, the bungalows seem to have this kind of cement structure, but the roof above it doesn’t seem to be insulated. I think the Burmese workers in this dormitory area People don’t seem to be alive every day. Many people are sitting at the door playing with mobile phones or inside. Girls gather together to chat and wash clothes , and men play ball together. Many of them are doing things like delivering food, and some are on the construction site next to it. It seems that life is not available every day. Look, even in this place, there are many luxury cars. There are too many luxury cars in the Golden Triangle. It’s a Bentley. I don’t know how many people live in this house. Look at the clothes hanging here. There are men, women and children. It feels like there are so many people in one house. I saw that this house is full of bunk beds . A house doesn’t look very big. You can tell from this distance that it has about 20 square meters . Then I can see there are three bunk beds inside. It’s too dark to see clearly. Occasionally, you can see a few Chinese faces. The white eldest brother must be Chinese, but this eldest brother has a restaurant. It seems that the main people here are Burmese. The three Burmese people have been staring at us. Do we look like Burmese? We have been quite dark recently. We have been recognized as compatriots by Burmese people several times. We often bump into each other. When we arrived, they gave us a meal in Burmese, and then we both looked confused. What are you talking about ? There is a security patrol car here with the word “Special Service” on it. This is the local police car. I found that there are many police cars and such security special service vehicles on the road here . They go back and forth in the community. This place actually has a high degree of autonomy. A businessman from Northeast China has rented this place for 99 years. Later, it was agreed with the Lao government that this place would have a high degree of autonomy except for the military , legislative and diplomatic rights. Therefore , the security here is provided by the Lao police on the one hand and some of the special zone’s own forces on the other. It is almost noon and many locals are sitting here to eat. Why are they not locals? They are all Burmese. I think Burmese people quite like to sit in a group , sit on the ground, eat and chat, which is quite interesting. How much does it cost? 20 RMB, 20 RMB, 20 RMB per person. I found that Chinese is still the best here, so if you speak English to the Burmese people , they may reply to you with a standard Chinese sentence . Yes, everyone here speaks Chinese? Do you speak Chinese? Where are you from? Myanmar is here. They are also Burmese. Where are you from Myanmar? Mandalay. We just went to Mandalay last month. I can’t find it. And Bagan. What kind of work do you do here ? Is that the park? What do you do there? I deliver food. How much can I earn here in a month? 3000 4000. It’s much better than Myanmar. It’s hard to find a job if you don’t speak Chinese. How much does it cost to rent a house here? 400 Is it a house? A bed per person is a bit expensive. A bed costs 400. How many people can live in a room? 4 people. Some even live 8 or 9 people. Is it hot here? Is there a fan? No air conditioning? Is there an air conditioner? I think eating here is a bit expensive. I eat takeout. I think takeout is also very expensive . At lunch time, you see, these girls are bringing food. Hello, everyone. When we speak Chinese here, it seems that it is not an encrypted language. Everyone understands that it feels quite divided. The right side is the labor residential area , and there are some high-rise buildings and hotels in these parks on the left. It is already 12 o’clock at noon. We are about to leave the Golden Triangle of Laos. Before leaving, we plan to go to the Mekong River to see the boat that was involved in the Mekong River tragedy . It is currently parked here in the Golden Triangle Park of Laos. It is more than two kilometers from our hotel to the Golden Triangle Park. Taxi here is too expensive. We asked for a taxi. The cheapest one costs 80 RMB and some cost 100 RMB. It’s only two kilometers away, so we walked over and were about to reach the boat stop. This area is called Kapok Island because this area is covered with tall kapok trees. This is one of them. You see, its trunk is very thick. The bottom is thicker than the top and becomes thinner as it goes up. Then at the top, kapok comes out. We are now at the Mekong River. This ship is one of the two ships that were killed in the Mekong River tragedy. The Huaping is now parked on the Laos side, but something happened that year. It was in the waters on the Thai side of the Mekong River. This ship has been parked here for 13 years since the accident in 2011. When we look at it now, the hull can be said to be rusty. The deck used to hold a lot of cargo. The hull also had the words “China Simao” written on it. Then there are two Chinese characters on the side that say “Hua Ping”. This ship used to be accessible for boarding and sightseeing from the deck to the cabin. Many bullet holes left during the accident were clearly visible. However, now we can only visit from the shore. In fact, the waters where the accident occurred were It’s on the other side of the river. But after this incident happened, the boss of Golden Kapok bought the boat with his own money and placed it here in the Golden Triangle of Laos to commemorate our compatriots who died in the Mekong River tragedy. I believe every Chinese person knows that this incident happened on October 5, 2011. At that time , 13 Chinese were murdered in the Thai waters of the Mekong River. In fact, when we look back at this matter now, all the details have been investigated very clearly. However, at the time, this matter experienced many twists and turns. The earliest incident occurred on October 5, 2011, on National Day. During the festival, the Thai police suddenly announced that they had intercepted two Chinese merchant ships suspected of armed drug trafficking in the waters of the Mekong River. At that time, they said that they found a large number of weapons and a large amount of drugs on the ship , but all the people on the ship had fled in fear of crime. They said that they all jumped into the water to escape. In the next few days , the remains of Chinese crew members were discovered one after another at the opposite Chiang Saen Pier, but the shape of these remains was very strange. At that time, the Thai police said that these Chinese crew members were found for drug trafficking and then jumped into the water to escape. However , almost all the remains found had their hands tied behind their backs. Then they were blindfolded and their bodies were full of bullet holes . They were killed in an execution posture because the bullet holes were there. According to expert analysis, these people were kneeling or lying on the ground, and then they were hit from high altitudes in the back like this. Many people had very many bullet holes in their bodies, with a maximum of 1 and 8 in total. This matter was not what the Thai police claimed at first, so we in China asked Thailand to investigate the matter thoroughly. Later, China set up an investigation team. After a series of investigations and visits, the criminal was finally locked on the big drug lord Naw Kang here in the Golden Triangle. After he was caught, everyone knew about Naw Kang’s crime. The gang was escorted back to China , where they were interrogated and eventually executed. The boats have been kept here ever since. One of them is called Huaping, and the other is called Yuxing 8. We spent a whole day in the Golden Triangle of Laos, and now we are ready to leave here for our trip to Laos. The next stop is Huishai . We are in the lobby on the first floor of the hotel. We have to go from the hotel to a place called Dongpeng Bus Station and then take a bus from there to Huishai. The total distance from the hotel to the bus station is 3.5 kilometers. I just asked about the taxi at the door. There is a whole row of them parked at the door. The metered taxi driver whose prices are relatively open and transparent told me that it costs 60 yuan for 3.5 kilometers. Then I asked why it was so expensive. He said that we have a clearly priced price list and looked at the price list for me. The starting price of a taxi here is currently 40 yuan. The starting price for two kilometers is 40 yuan. 2 kilometers and then every additional kilometer will add 10 yuan. However, we just asked the hotel front desk and the front desk said that hotel guests can use the hotel car to take them to the bus station for free , but we have to wait because the car has already gone out to take other guests. It is 1 o’clock at noon and they may not be able to come back to take us back until after 2 o’clock. In order to save the 60 yuan, we decided to go here After waiting for a while, we have now boarded the car. This is a handsome guy from Myanmar. The consumption in the Golden Triangle of Laos is really too expensive. When we went out for breakfast this morning, there were many Chinese restaurants outside. The cheapest pancakes were 25 yuan, which only added an egg and a sausage . The steamed buns were 25 yuan. There were only 7 small steamed buns in each basket, and the noodles were all 3. I think it’s expensive, starting at 5 yuan , and rice porridge is 10 yuan. A bowl of lean egg and lean meat porridge with some vegetables or lean meat in it costs 15 to 20 yuan , and it’s a bowl instead of a big pot. We really feel so poor in this place that we can’t afford anything. We are finally leaving the Golden Triangle of Laos. In fact, it’s been two days since we arrived in Laos yesterday . We haven’t seen what the real Laos looks like. Our car is now driving onto a main road. A little further on, there is a checkpoint. After passing it, we have left the Golden Triangle Special Zone and entered the real Laos. The total area of this special zone is 100 square kilometers. If you think about it, it is a 10×10 (kilometer) area. This place is really highly autonomous. There should be a checkpoint in front. I heard that passports are checked, but I am afraid that some people will sneak across the border because the Mekong River is quite easy. We have already passed the checkpoint, which means we have left the Laos Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. It was very interesting when we were crossing the border just now. Two Laotian soldiers were checking our passports . I was afraid that the other party did not know Chinese. I asked him if he wanted a passport , and he looked at me with confusion. Are you not Chinese? Can you speak Chinese? After leaving the special zone, the scenery changed immediately. The roads inside the special zone were very wide and high-rise buildings. After we came out, there were dirt roads like this outside. Fortunately, the area we passed just now was all low-rise, very Southeast Asian-style houses. Only now do you feel that you have truly arrived in Laos. There is no more today . That will be sunny. They set off at 5:30. We have now arrived at the Dongpeng bus station. It is very big. It is divided into left and right sides. The one side is all international passenger transport services, such as Vietnam. Except for Vientiane, it is Jinghong, Pu’er and Kunming in Laos. These three are Chinese. Then Chiang Rai is from Thailand. Then this side is bound for Laos. Like Boten, Boten is the city opposite our Yunnan Mohan port. And that pile is also a stop on the China-Laos high-speed rail. There are also Luang Prabang and the like. But I just went to the window to ask and there are no buses today. To go to Luang Prabang, we can only go to Huay Xay and then from Huay Xay to find a way to get to Luang Prabang. He doesn’t have time to take the bus when it fills up with 10 people. Now there are 4 people plus 6 of us. We still have to wait here. Then I just asked about the fare. It is 100,000 Lao dollars per person. 100,000 yuan is roughly equivalent to RMB at the current exchange rate of early 30s, 31/32. Then I said that I don’t have Laos dollars, only RMB. He said that it would be 40. We will suffer a little loss, but we can’t help it. We really can’t exchange Laos currency in the Golden Kapok Special Zone, because the Laos currency is not used there , and the RMB and Thai baht are not easy to use. After leaving the Golden Kapok Special Zone, the old currency is better. Now I am going to take the RMB to exchange for some old coins. I can take it directly from him. It’s not cost-effective to buy tickets in RMB. The exchange rate is too low. There are some shops here that can exchange currency. I just asked and a Chinese boss gave me an exchange rate of 2,800 Lao dollars for one RMB . The official exchange rate is 2,900. Then there was a Lao boss who said he could exchange it for 1 RMB to 3,000. For more, I’m going to find the Lao boss now . I’m going to exchange 300 RMB here for us. After we get there, I’ll see if there’s anything else I can exchange for more. Because we only have 300 RMB in total, I finally exchanged it for Lao currency. The big brother gave me all special new ones with a denomination of 50,000, just out of the factory. I exchanged 300 kyats for 900,000 . This was given to us by Brother Chao when he was in Myanmar. He came to Laos before. The remaining 110,000 kyats are about 30 yuan. In this way, I have a total of 1 million kyats. We have now arrived at Houay Xai Bus Station, and our next destination is Luang Prabang. Generally speaking, there are three modes of transportation to choose from from Huay Xay to Luang Prabang. The most popular one for backpackers is the two-day slow boat. From Huay Xay, it floats along the Mekong River from upstream to downstream. Luang Prabang is also a city along the Mekong River, but the boat is too slow and takes two full days. The fare is quite cheap. It seems to cost about 150 yuan per person , but you have to sleep one more night in the transit place. In fact, the cost is not very low. However, the slow boat ride on the Mekong River is called a required course for backpackers from entry to maturity , so many people will choose this line. The second way is that we can take the bus from Huay Xai for about 6 hours. First go to a place called Nadui, and then take the China-Laos high-speed rail from there to Luang Prabang in about an hour. The advantage of this method is that it takes less time. The bus plus the high-speed rail to Luang Prabang only takes about 8 hours in total , and the cost is almost more than 100 yuan. It’s just a bit more troublesome. You have to carry your bags and go to the train from the station. It was quite troublesome to go to the train station and then go to the other party’s train station . So we chose the third mode of transportation , which is to take the overnight bus directly to Luang Prabang from the bus station in Houay Xay . When we got here, it was 4:30. They have a bus at 5:30 today. This bus is also the last one today . That’s what we are drawing now. I saw this one in the car , but unfortunately this car only has the last two seats left. It has a sleeper berth, just like the one we stayed in in Vietnam where two people slept in one bed. However, the narrow bed for two people is no longer available. Our seat is in the last row , and it is a large berth that can sleep 5 people . And I took a look at the bunk in the car. The bunk was much shorter than the normal bunk. I felt that everyone had to sleep sideways at night , and it was quite refreshing to have 5 people I didn’t know crowded together. The fare was the cheapest. The price per person was 310,000 old coins in RMB, which is about 103. The two of us spent 206 haha to compare our lives.
