Hello everyone Continuing my 72-hour flash trip to Ishigaki Island In the previous episode, I mentioned we joined a half-day tour Now in the afternoon, I’ll take a ride from the hotel To explore Ishigaki city center We just took transportation from the hotel to Ishigaki city center Actually, Ishigaki city center is very compact Most visitors mainly explore these few shopping streets Now let’s show you What’s good to eat and shop in these streets This shopping street in Ishigaki city center I think has many souvenir shops Coming here, you’ll already see many tourists The feeling is completely different from our hotel Ishigaki Island is a place with many glass products In Ishigaki Island, you’ll often see this boy logo It belongs to a dairy company called Genki It’s a local Ishigaki dairy company We’ll try their products later They’ve launched many different types of souvenirs For example, these milk carton-shaped items Actually contain socks inside I noticed that many Japanese souvenirs Like to feature local coffee Here they also have many Okinawan specialty coffees Small packages you can buy as souvenirs Like these Snoopy ones All designed with Okinawan surfing themes Most importantly, it’s brown sugar coffee Because Okinawa’s brown sugar is famous These are all different flavors of brown sugar coffee What else is Ishigaki Island famous for? Of course, Ishigaki beef Here they have ready-to-eat Ishigaki beef curry It’s quite nice as a gift for friends But its price Because Ishigaki beef is wagyu It costs 1200 yen per box Here they have so many Ishigaki beef products Most common is the curry we mentioned earlier Like this one The price is around 1000+ yen Today I plan to shop a lot Because I’ve been at the hotel for many days Without any shopping at all Now I plan to buy whatever catches my eye This shop looks quite big Called Specialty Market It seems to have many souvenirs This is quite interesting Okinawa is famous for this type of rice ball, right? Here they have SPAM rice ball flavored chips The path in this shop is quite narrow But it really feels like a supermarket There are really many things to buy Remember this? This is one of Okinawa’s famous specialties Angel’s Wings That’s its name It looks like this Very much like paper towels that went through the washing machine But actually tastes like rice crackers This is salt flavor But I found they recently released this new one It’s plum flavor This is rum cake The packaging is quite cute This is a snack for cats It’s made from Okinawan purple sweet potato But they added chicken to it I feel this Ishigaki Island Co-op store Compared to the traditional souvenir shops We saw earlier Is a bit more refined With more handicrafts Beauty products and bath items I think this shop is more modern Since visiting Okinawa I think I’ve fallen in love with pineapple flavor Here they have pineapple jasmine tea And nicer packaging Looks like this This is a six-cup set I thought it was a Shisa lion dog from a distance But it turns out to be a small dog Here they have embroidered slippers In two colors I think this store Although it also sells Ishigaki-themed T-shirts The styles compared to what we saw earlier In traditional souvenir shops Are more modern Easier for daily wear Not so obviously souvenir-like It seems like it’s been a while Since I introduced my Causeway Bay store My store is on the 3rd floor of Windsor House in Causeway Bay Recently women’s clothing, accessories, stickers, stationery Japanese tableware and many specialty items are on discount I want to encourage everyone To visit the store during the discount period Because it might not exist for much longer I know everyone might be used to shopping online So there’s less in-person shopping Actually, you can also check out my online store All products online are synchronized with the physical store But some discounts are exclusive to the physical store Soon we arrived at Genki Dairy’s specialty store This boy logo is actually The mascot of Ishigaki’s local dairy company We’ve come to their specialty store Planning to try their dairy products Actually, this store Mainly sells mascot-related merchandise They have another branch That branch mainly sells items like Bread, milk, cheese But this store also has some drinks I want to say that in other stores I saw those cute milk cartons Here you can buy just the packaging You can take them back as gift boxes Or like in the store Use them to grow plants I just bought this rich milkshake This is Genki Dairy’s signature product Many people come specifically to try this milkshake It has a very rich milk flavor Plus Japanese milk is especially delicious It has a very fragrant milk flavor Maybe because it’s very cold When I drink it, it feels like I’m drinking milk-flavored ice cream Really refreshing in summer This store specializes in selling Snow salt souvenirs It has many branches in Okinawa Surprisingly, Ishigaki Island also has its specialty store My recommendation is this financier I tried it last time I think it’s quite delicious If you’re buying for yourself You don’t need to buy the gift box You can buy this bag packaging Last time I came to the salt shop I also bought a bunch of seasoning salts The Ishigaki Island branch also has them I don’t think I’ve seen these snow salt candies before They have a meringue-like texture This is chocolate flavor They have many flavors Strawberry, mango, brown sugar Or local flavors like purple sweet potato All T-shirts in this store are designed with Okinawan themes They’ve taken many familiar cartoon characters And turned them into tanned versions Even My Melody has gotten a tan Like these Each one becomes an Okinawan version This store’s entrance is designed like Okinawan red tile roof Let me go in and see Here they have Okinawan special face masks When applied, you’ll look like a Shisa lion We’ve now arrived at our lunch spot Today we’re eating at this yakiniku restaurant Called Ishigaki An Located in a building called 730 Court On the 3rd floor, you can take the elevator up We made a reservation for 1 PM today Remember if you want to visit yakiniku restaurants in Ishigaki Island You usually need to make reservations in advance Because restaurants in Ishigaki Island are small And their operating hours are short Often they don’t accept Customers without reservations This restaurant’s reservations are quite full I made a reservation about a week Before departing for today’s meal Initially they only offer three set menus One for 6,380 yen One for 9,460 yen One for 12,320 yen The main difference is how many types of meat For example, the 6,000+ yen one only has three types of meat Today I ordered the 9,000+ yen one Which has five types of meat Because I read Google reviews before Some people said When seated, they only provided one menu Limiting them to a few expensive set menus They didn’t see the cheaper sets mentioned online But when I told the staff I wanted to order à la carte items I was given their official menu I found some cheaper options at the back 2,000+ yen lunch sets But I suspect they might not offer these meals anymore So you should budget At least 6,000+ yen as the starting price Our set menu meat just arrived Our set includes five types of meat These five types are Select sirloin Special tenderloin Special chuck Special red meat And special rump Rump is the buttock area Since we’re eating Ishigaki beef The wagyu fat distribution Looks really appealing Each type has about four pieces We’ll share between two people Additionally, we paid 2,000+ yen To order this special beef tongue The beef tongue is less than I expected For 2,000+ yen and only six slices The portion is really not much And you can see the slices are quite thin Since we came to Ishigaki Island And we’re not self-driving We can drink alcohol with our afternoon meal I ordered a plum wine soda I really appreciate this plum wine Sometimes when you order plum wine with soda Restaurants mix it too weak This plum wine tastes quite strong I really enjoy drinking plum wine Before starting the grill, they provide A piece of wagyu fat Used to season the grill The grill uses charcoal fire underneath When eating, you’ll taste the charcoal aroma It’s not like the usual iron plate grilling My plan now is to start with the leanest cuts I’ll start with the special red meat Red meat is the leanest part With less fat distribution Let’s try this Ishigaki beef Although it’s the leanest of the five cuts I find the meat texture very soft The beef flavor is very aromatic Oh no, I already find the red meat delicious What will happen when I try the others? I don’t know if you’ve heard Ishigaki beef is actually the ancestor of wagyu The wagyu raised in other prefectures All come from Ishigaki beef that they improved To develop their breeds Which led to the Kobe beef we eat today Of course, I don’t know if this claim Originated from Ishigaki Island Because I’ve heard other prefectures Also claim to be the ancestor of wagyu But you can take it as an interesting story And wonder if it’s true Let’s try the fattier tenderloin As soon as it hits the grill, you hear the sizzling The sound of the fat The aroma of butter Now let’s try this Special beef tongue we ordered separately Let me show you my beautifully grilled beef tongue Look at those perfect grill marks Beef tongue should be eaten with vinegar I’ll dip it in lemon juice Sometimes when faced with wagyu Apart from saying “delicious” There really aren’t many words to describe it Beef tongue actually has many different grades There might be wagyu beef tongue Or regular beef tongue Which are already different grades Plus a whole beef tongue is quite large It’s divided into tip and root The one we ordered is 2,750 yen The most special selection They also have a platter with four different parts But because I don’t want to eat The tougher tip parts I didn’t order the platter this time I only wanted this special selection They didn’t specify which part it is But I think it’s the most delicious center part Actually I had breakfast this morning I originally thought I wouldn’t be hungry But seeing the wagyu made me hungry again Now comes my favorite chuck part I often eat chuck I think among all the cuts It has the best balance of meat and fat Now let’s try a fattier cut This is the rump The meat from the buttock area Looking at it, the fat and meat Are almost half-and-half It should be fattier than the chuck Or tenderloin we just ate Looking forward to it Very rich The fat explodes in your mouth When you bite down, the meat is really soft Why is Ishigaki beef so delicious? The moment the meat enters your mouth Before you even start chewing It melts instantly Dissolving in your mouth You barely need to chew The fat seems to have already spread This is very delicious But I believe after a few more bites This would be too rich You might need to eat it with rice I think the good thing about this platter Is that it has fatty parts And some less fatty parts You won’t suddenly have to eat too many rich items And feel overwhelmed after a few bites Let me try the last type to show you The remaining one is premium sirloin Since it’s sirloin You can imagine It’s also a relatively rich part I think its fat content Is similar to the rump cap we just ate The rump cap seems to have marbling More integrated into the meat You can see it’s like a grid pattern A bit of red meat and fat alternating But the sirloin is fattier around the edges With more red meat in the middle Let me show you this again Such beautiful grill marks Just looking at it makes me want to eat I think this meat flavor Maybe because I grilled it with more charcoal flavor Compared to the rump cap The meat flavor is more pronounced Perhaps that’s why sirloin is used for steak? Because its meat flavor stands out more And I don’t cook it too well-done I think wagyu shouldn’t be cooked too well Otherwise you waste its meat quality I already have a feeling When I edit this footage late at night I’ll probably feel very hungry Maybe you’ll feel hungry too When watching this video We just finished eating at Ishigaki An The final bill was About 14,000 yen After eating, I feel that Ishigaki beef is really excellent And I think the portion size was quite generous We ordered the 9,000+ yen set It was more than enough for two people Think about it – it has five types of meat Four pieces of each Even sharing between two people Each person has to eat ten pieces to finish So we were quite full after eating Plus I think the restaurant environment was nice First, the ventilation was very good There was an exhaust vent right next to the grill So you don’t leave smelling like barbecue And each table felt like a private space Although not every table was in a private room The spacing was good When I was leaving I saw tourists trying to go in It’s true that without a reservation, you can’t eat there Even though we saw many empty tables after our meal They really don’t let people in without reservations So remember to make reservations in advance We’ve now arrived at Genki Dairy’s direct store This store is different from the one That specializes in souvenirs we visited earlier That one only had a few drinks for sale But this is truly a direct store With many different types of dairy products Such as milk bread Yogurt, gelato And their famous pudding The bottles are very cute All in these small bottles I tried two flavors The original egg flavor And their signature milk flavor The pudding comes in many different flavors Mango, strawberry More unusual ones like dragon fruit And Genki Dairy’s famous drink flavors Like milk coffee and jasmine milk tea Let me try the milk flavor first It’s a very rich milk flavor I don’t know if you’ve tried Morinaga has a milk pudding I loved it as a child It tastes a bit like that milk flavor Quite delicious I really like milk pudding Now let’s try the original egg pudding This is the shop’s bestselling version Its texture is a bit like mousse Compared to the milk pudding earlier It has more elasticity This really feels like cream Look when I scoop it It comes out in one spoonful No need to cut it forcefully Both are quite delicious One pudding costs 480 yen All flavors are the same price The shop has a few tables for dining in You can also take them back to your hotel The sales area here Has the factory directly behind it You can see them baking bread inside Or making pudding Actually, besides pudding There are many other foods to buy here Such as different flavored breads Many people come specifically to buy bread here Just sitting here You can smell the fragrant bread from the factory The bread isn’t just milk bread There are many different flavors Besides milk flavor There are Okinawan specialties like purple sweet potato Or red bean bread that Japanese people love They have those too You don’t have to buy a whole loaf You can buy it slice by slice I see some Japanese people Buy one slice of bread And a pudding to eat together We’ve now arrived at Ishigaki Public Market It’s somewhat similar to The Makishi Public Market in Okinawa That we introduced before It has some shops selling frozen wagyu After buying, they can cook it for you To eat on the spot But after walking around I feel the selection here is limited Compared to Makishi Public Market This place only has two frozen meat shops Both selling Ishigaki beef But I don’t think the prices are very reasonable Because 160g of Ishigaki beef costs 6,000 yen If you ask me I’d rather go to Ishigaki An like we did earlier A proper yakiniku restaurant And sit comfortably to eat Because if you imagine eating here It’s more like a cafeteria It won’t be a very comfortable dining environment Coming here should be for value for money But the prices here aren’t particularly good value I wouldn’t choose to eat here And when I went to the B1 floor It felt a bit like a Japanese food court in Hong Kong The kind you’d see in a food hall It doesn’t have many raw ingredient shops It’s not like a market Don’t expect to find Like at Makishi Public Market last time Things like giant clams and lobsters You won’t find those There are no seafood shops here The rest are small food stalls Like fried foods, juices Waffles, or ramen If you want to eat some snacks I think it’s fine For a proper meal, I wouldn’t choose to eat here There are better options Where I’m sitting now Is the food court area of the public market If you buy anything from any food stall Or even order beef from the meat shops You should sit in this area to eat Since coming to Ishigaki Island I’ve discovered the biggest problem Is that the shops are very casual about opening hours They open when they want And close when they want I had planned to come to the city center today I had already planned some Cafes or restaurants I wanted to visit But when I arrived today My first choice cafe wasn’t open It was temporarily closed Then all the cafes nearby That I wanted to try Just to find a place to have a drink None of them were open I searched all around this area It was really hard to find A cafe to sit down and rest Finally I came back to the public market Planning to eat something Until it’s time to catch the bus Then I’ll walk over to take it So when you come to Ishigaki Island You need to be very flexible Eat at any restaurant you can find If not, just move on That kind of mindset So you won’t feel your plans are disrupted P-type people are better suited for this place I just mentioned that in the public market There are many snack shops But only the soufflé pancake shop has a long line Maybe because it’s so popular They’ve run out of the toppings that are usually sprinkled on top I don’t know if it’s nuts Or chocolate bits After the staff made three pancakes They suddenly produced a bowl of meringue from somewhere And asked if we wanted to add it They immediately took out a whisk And whipped a scoop of cream-like topping for us As a special topping This is it Now let’s try the soufflé pancake This soufflé pancake The staff didn’t give me a knife at all Just a fork As soon as I scoop it, it breaks apart It’s a very creamy soufflé pancake Tastes good It has a very airy texture They only offer one flavor You can’t add other sauces Or special flavors Only original flavor is available I thought it would be an ordinary pancake But as I kept eating I discovered the pancake batter Must have brown sugar added The outer layer tastes Like it has brown sugar aroma But I think the flavor isn’t too strong Sometimes when brown sugar flavor is too strong It can taste a bit burnt This doesn’t have that It just has a light brown sugar fragrance I think this is really quite delicious I also ordered this Taketomi Town store’s smoothie It looks quite elegant I saw someone carrying it earlier I thought it looked pretty It’s made with many different fresh fruits Made into various smoothies Mine is mango and pineapple They all have labels saying No sugar added, no water added You can see frozen mango on top Very cold! They probably first add some fresh fruit and blend it Then add milk Big problem again Always happens when I’m wearing white clothes We’ve now come up to the first floor The first floor is a souvenir market Where people buy souvenirs There’s an urban legend that Buying souvenirs at Ishigaki Public Market Is more expensive than at outside shops Let me check the prices See if there are any prices I remember So I can compare The public market is over here Now let’s walk over to The souvenir shop across the street To see how different the prices are And I found that the prices Are actually identical Not especially expensive as rumored So this myth can be debunked You can buy wherever is convenient We just finished eating Ishigaki beef And walked over here To find this bus stop The bus stop is right here And actually the main bus terminal Is really this small This is the No. 9 bus we’ll take later It looks like it’s preparing to arrive Ishigaki Island’s bus schedule is very infrequent If you want to take the bus You must check the timetable And wait according to the schedule This bus is the last one of the day But it’s only 6:10 PM in the early evening We’re already preparing to return to the hotel The journey takes about an hour The bus has arrived We’re now getting ready to board When boarding, we need to take a numbered ticket first When getting off, put the numbered ticket And the fare into the payment box We just got off the bus back at the hotel The bus actually stops right at Club Med’s entrance If you want to take the bus to the city You can board at this same location This time in Ishigaki Island I experienced an all-inclusive resort Rode a glass-bottom boat and saw squirrel monkeys I also ate the Ishigaki beef I’ve been wanting to try It definitely didn’t disappoint If you’re tired of popular areas like Tokyo and Osaka You might consider Ishigaki Island If you’re interested in tropical island vacations Feel free to leave a comment I might film more for you in the future If you want to see more travel videos Please subscribe to my channel You can also visit my Instagram To see real-time sharing of my trips See you next week
