I could choose chicken or pasta, then chiken! The greeting “ciao” is very new to me Uscita means “Exit” Japan is a third country, so I take the left lane I’m glad I’m Japanese through the automatic gate so it was super fast Now I’m going to get on the bus and head to my hotel Should I go to the bus from this exit? It’s not cold at all. The directions are super easy to follow The bus is over here, and there’s a coffee shop like this Oh, can’t all get on this bus at once, so maybe it’ll be two buses later I just got on. I waited in line for about 30 minutes I bought a round-trip ticket while I was waiting in line, and I’ll need it for the return trip I just got there. There is one problem, I can’t connect to the internet. I’m having a bit of trouble. I wonder if Rakuten Mobile is not available in Italy? Gas stations in Italy are small. I just got to my room. I rented a room in an apartment. So when I open this door, will see the owner’s living room I wonder if the people living there are a couple in their 20s? Really nice person The room was really cute, first of all
the bed! The owner seems to have put a lot of effort into choosing the wallpaper There are two towels prepared here
and the sink and toilet are to the left of the bed The shower is to the right Is there conditioner? (There wasn’t any) A sofa, a small refrigerator and a microwave There’s a kettle to boil water and you can drink the tap water I just drank it These are the lockers There’s a terrace here.
The weather is also really nice, about 16℃ Interesting succulents It’s really quiet when closed. This is also a picture drawn by a friend Tea bags The place on this postcard is famous, so I’m going to go there now It was a very clean and nice room
I’m really happy It’s raining, that’s bad Do I need an umbrella? Let’s go back and get it Rakuten still doesn’t work, so I’ll try without the internet Now entering the Vatican Looks like entering from here Oh, looks like there’s a baggage inspection They’re inspecting my bag now I went inside, and this is St. Peter’s Basilica It’s raining a little and the wind is blowing quite a bit I wish it hadn’t rained so much, but it can’t be helped I just went inside. It was amazing They used a lot of marble inside, and there were a lot of statues There were a lot of really big statues, and the ceiling paintings were gorgeous It was really amazing. The most luxurious way to express it I’m glad I got to see it. You really can’t see this unless you come here And one more thing that surprised me The internet was connected It had been down since I arrived at the airport, but was it because of the power of the Vatican? I just checked after the tour and my data connection was working. It was down for about 4 hours I’m surprised the internet is working now I’m going to eat pizza now The owner of the inn made a list of recommended restaurants for me, and this is one of them When the owner of the inn was a child, thought it looked like “Howl’s Moving Castle” and thought it would fly someday It’s cute, isn’t it? It’s called Castel Sant’Angelo The river flows through it. Big river I found drinking water. Is it okay to drink this? Wow, historic towns have had well-established infrastructure for a long time. Switzerland and Paris have the same thing. I wonder if it will be sunny tomorrow?
I’ve already seen Rome in the rain, so I want to see the sunshine Rome! I came to the supermarket to buy breakfast for tomorrow A slightly smaller supermarket I wonder if I should buy some yogurt It looks delicious, but the portions are too big Should I buy this bread? Let’s buy this It looks so good! Let’s buy one. Look, what a stylish interior. It’s interesting, just looking at it I’m around here, where’s the pizza place? [Full Booking] I decided to eat outside another restaurant [It was too salty and not very tasty] Good morning. I wanted to get up a little earlier, but I ended up getting up late. The cake and lemon yogurt I bought yesterday. I’m going to walk to the Plaza de España now. It’s about a 30-minute walk. There’s a beautiful picture here. Thank goodness it’s not raining. Turn left here and you’ll reach the Vatican. Is this a shop for old ladies? Look, a madame is going in now. It looks really stylish, but are the cracks in the glass just for show? I just came to the river I saw yesterday I’m walking down the street to the Spanish Steps. Is it a high-end brand? Very stylish I’m not usually interested in shopping, but Italy is fun to look at Cars come in even on very narrow streets, so small cars seem to be popular The Spanish Steps can be seen ahead, and there are a lot of people. I’ve never seen Roman Holiday, so I don’t really know It looks like Montmartre in Paris Next, I’ll walk to the Trevi Fountain. About 11 minutes from here I don’t think there’s any interest in this in Japan, but this dress is super cute It’s expensive, but looks really good I just got to the Trevi Fountain, but I’ll just look at it Only people who are admitted can go in front of this rope It’s amazing how many people there are.
Next move towards the Colosseum But I’m having some trouble and I want to go to the toilet Oh no, this way or that way I’m not hungry anymore I don’t want to go into a restaurant The Colosseum is about a 20 minute walk from here Is that the Colosseum in front of you? It’s so big. There are no toilets in the Colosseum, [there are toilets inside, but the line for the women’s was long]. I guess I’ll just have to take a break here. Let’s take a quick break here. There’s apparently a toilet in the shop next door, but there’s a line. There’s no toilet, I can only have gelato The Colosseum draws near, my urine draws near. Let’s go here. I just went to the bathroom and there was a line, so I’ll hold it in and eat it first Milk and chocolate, I guess I was glad I could go to the bathroom, but I didn’t think it was particularly tasty Regular ice cream It’s amazing after all! Colosseum First I showed my ticket and passport, then I went through the baggage check. I heard there was an audio guide, but it was a downloadable version only in Italian, Spanish and English. I see, it says it’s available in Japanese online, but maybe it’s gone, it’s from last year. Is it somewhere else? It’s supposed to have a full view. It was so crowded I couldn’t see anything, so I was feeling down just now. But now it’s a place where I can see it The gladiators fought here in 80 AD. I asked on Google Lens and it said that the round place at the bottom Where gladiators, animals and stage equipment were stored Apparently there was something like a vertical elevator to go directly to the stage Google Lens
Very useful. Very easy to understand come to the gift shop now, it’s easy to understand the picture books. They were stored at the bottom like this When they fight, they come out on this elevator. The emperor is here… I’ve just reached the first floor. I don’t know how to get to the top. Some people go below this, but it seems only a limited number of people can go. As I was walking, I saw the remains of a bathhouse, so I thought I’d go there. I just came out of the museum, but it was difficult. There were some interesting things inside, though I’m going to take the subway for the first time going back to my hotel. It might smell like pee. Maybe because there are no toilets anywhere? I’ll take the A line home. The subway accepts credit cards. [Continued in Rome Part 2]
